G.T.T.C.C News Update

Well race fans we have some good news. Two new drivers have been signed to drive for Swift Autosport this season. Before we get to that lets talk a little about what went on at preseason testing.

Silly Preseason Testing & Signings

Smith signed with Swift Autosport to drive one of their Suzuki's. He then finished 6th, 7th,& 7th at Autumn Ring during the first, & final test for the teams at Autumn Ring.

A new driver showed up & killed the competition with 3 top 2 finishes & took home the first super pole of the series.

But the real winner at the Ring was O. Stig (@sibbystiggy) with 2 wins & the pole.

P. King (@Paulking66) was in the hospital with a broken leg. We did get a statement from him, & here it is:
"I'd like to apologize to Mikey (@1996mikey2412) for missing the preseason testing. Second I gotta thank everyone who wished me a speedy recovery. To wrap up my statement I'd like to say I'm looking forward to Cape Ring South,& hopefully bringing home a win for Suzuki,& Orange Fighters."

Here's how the championship would shape up if the season would have started last week at Autumn Ring:

Code:
Drivers
O. Stig - 60
F. Emo - 57
M. Mikey - 46
T. Blue - 40
A. Jimmmy - 38
R. Tuned - 10
S. Smith - 0

Teams
Diesel Pig Racing - 100
Orange Fighters - 0

Indys
F. Emo - 72
A. Jimmmy - 54
R. Tuned - 16
S. Smith - 0

Manufacturers
Renault - 102
Honda - 90
Ford - 58
Suzuki - 0

It appears O. Stig would be on top of the drivers board ahead of F. Emo (@FaithlessEmo) by 3 points heading into Cape Ring South. Now onto the biggest news of the preseason.

Schedule Ch-Ch-Change?!?!

Instead of a mid-season break we now get the world center of racing DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY. That's right folks we're going to the Oval not the Road Course. This also came as a shock to T. Blue (@DirtyNurbKing58) who was quoted saying "An Oval? What the 🤬? Are we racing touring cars or stock cars?"

We asked the series promoter why he put an oval in the schedule over just having an off-week,& here's what was said.
"I feel with an Oval track on the schedule it gives everyone in the grid a shot at getting some good points. Plus it's a little off the beaten path of the normal road course. So it gets all the drivers out of their comfort zone a little. I think it'll be a lot of fun."

Now lets get onto the big announcement being made by the Swift Autosport Team.

Announcement Time!!!

We here at Swift Autosport would like to thank you all for coming out here on such short notice. But we promise it will be worth the flight out here. Now lets get down to it.

We'd like to announce that we will be fielding three cars this season; 2 of witch will be powered by Suzuki,& the other powered by Renault.

I'd like to just get straight to the point today because I'm sure you all have something better to do today. So here it is: I'd like to welcome F. Emo,& A. Block (@ABP) to the Swift Autosport racing stables. So here are all three of the cars:

@1996mikey2412 @sibbystiggy @Paulking66 @swiftsmith @FaithlessEmo @yuc2002 @Dimse91 @oRaceTuned @Matt tiff @TruGenTimeless @ABP @NinjaEvo

So it's been a busy stressful few weeks, but he series begins tonight!

Track : Cape Ring South
swergefd.png

Laps : 12
Pit Window : 4-8
Power Reduction for Race 1 : Not in place tonight

Remember to read through the OP. No aero kits or flat floors, or nitrous. Would appreciate if we could get straight into racing tonight, so if people can be there by 6:50 latest, much appreciated, and if people run the correct specs.

Track Limits : There's not really much here tonight. Except the 2 chicanes (turn 5/6 and 10/11) however last corner will be monitored. 2 wheels inside the white line so no running over into the pit lane fully. When leaving the pits, stay inside the white line. Although if the track is clear feel free to cross it.
If you can't make the race, let us know ASAP.
I've sent an FR out to everyone on PSN.

After the race, if people can give race reports, for example. how your race went in Q, R1, 2 and 3. Then Ninja can get some highlights together and make a good video. Again, any issues send a PM to the stewards (Myself, mikey and smith). If anyone else wants to give us an extra hand, would be appreciated.
Anyone wanting to make a team / change colour / change car has until 18:00BST to do so, but No more Honda's are left.

Best of luck to everyone tonight, see you on track 👍

Who will win the first race? what will the finishing order be after him?
Who will win the second race? what will be the finishing order after him?
Who will win the third race? what will be the finishing order behind him?

NinjitsuEvolved signs with Orange Fighters!
Big news coming out of Cape Ring on the eve of the opening round of the GTTCC as NinjitsuEvolved, the only driver in the field confirmed to be representing Volkswagen, confirms that he has now signed for Orange Fighters for the upcoming season. The announcement was made as Ninja was at Cape Ring filming the Cape Ring South Track Guide for GTTCC TV globally, where he got to grips with his VW properly for the first time.

Ninja - "It's great to be able to announce this partnership with Orange Fighters, who are looking hungry for success and it's great to share that vision with them. It seems as though finally everything is falling into place. First we get the Golf sorted out, then we get invited down here for the Track Guide shoot, and now we're part of a team who look to run at the front!"

We also spoke with Ninja about him being part of a three driver team. "Well, only the top 2 drivers in the team score points for each race, and for sure, I want to make sure I'm one of those drivers on a regular basis."

Finally, his thoughts on the track. "It's a challenge, with these cars it's much easier to lose time than gain it when you're pushing hard. We started the session with big understeer problems and the car was just not doing what we wanted. We made a few adjustments, lost the rear wing amongst other things, and we got the car to where we want it. We still have some big wheelspin issues with the front tyres, as you'll be able to tell from the video, but I've learned to drive around it now. Here's hoping I don't take too much out of the tyres on Race Day!"

If you would like to see the Track Guide video, it's available to view underneath:
