I know I'm not part of this series and whatnot, and I honestly don't decide to invade a thread just on a whim like this all the time, but I would just like to make a point on this.

Anyone who knows anyone who has tried to build a series from scratch knows it does take a lot of effort, and without help it can really wear you out mentally. What I want to say is: Help Nurb out! Be a good sport!

It's so easy to turn up to the races, try out the car you pick, run a race and say "car is too slow, fix this!" to the organiser. When you spec cars, you really do have to try everything you can in a relatively short space of time so that the people who are interested don't lose that interest, while trying to make sure that the cars are as even as they can be. I've had two ideas waiting in the winds for months now that I've kept hush hush about, because I wanted to make sure of absolutely everything before I put the idea out there.

If you can, always try to help the organiser out by trying all the cars. Don't just doing a lap or two and finding the most comfortable one, but working at it in the ones that aren't so comfortable so you get a feel for why they aren't so fast. Maybe one is too twitchy, maybe it doesn't have the same grunt as something with equal power, maybe one has much less mechanical grip. An organiser needs specific feedback sometimes, and also someone who is willing to think of ideas and has a little time in their day to perhaps try out those ideas to see if they work in bringing the cars closer. Sometime it might not even be the cars, sometimes the tracks chosen offer an overall advantage to one car because there are too many tracks that play to a its strengths, so it's good to have people working with the organiser out of the goodness of their hearts to relay that info too.
Thanks a lot mate, luckily I have got some guys giving a hand 👍

It makes sense.

But also on my Meg when I'm minus 50bhp I am nowhere. Look at the other megane and I have less power than that and still the same weight. I could never get near yuc 1.33 with the power I had.
I understand its hard to keep up and keep everyone happy and we learnt a lot last nite. I enjoyed the racing and that hard work. Look forward to brands and Rome.

To help I will test all the cars you have put up to see how close i find them. What track is going to be typical of next season so I can get good results?

You could beat us with a 2CV lol. @SkengD bit off topic but give this guy a go sometime, he'd give you a challenge ;)
When the other cars are given the power reduction they struggle but they can keep up, and not finish last, the Honda, when it finishes 3rd just kills it

I put the track list / current car specs on the OP of the convo mate 👍

Need to finish my application for uni then hope to be on a bit later. Rome will be a great race

No worries! 👍

Hmmm, I'm kinda interested in the series after seeing the OP and some of the regulations on it. I won't join now, but I could help in testing the cars if you like? Also, what GT Auto parts do you allow people to run in the series?

Cool, would love to see you onboard! & GT Aero parts allowed are rear wings but are optional

no worries mate

For season 2 which people seem keen on, having a bit of update, more cars, FR, If your interested I can add you to the convo for it

Nitrous is not allowed and for aero parts, a rear wing only. Sports soft tyres only. Apart from that, smash your car up as much as you like :)

Ahhh I see, that's fair enough. I'm glad you don't have the Flat Floor as an option, because from what I noticed, flat floor drops top end speed like crazy but makes braking distances epically short. That's alright, but when you have some cars that do have flat floor and some that don't, it makes things confusing unless you are consciously aware of this.

I'm not surprised you're not using Nitrous, not many do unless it's a drag lobby. Although, if you can manage it correctly, you can theoretically turn NOS into a DRS-esque variable. I'd like to be added to the convo for Season Two! Would be nice to perhaps throw some ideas out there to play with.

That nitro thing sounds great tbh, only allowed to use on front straight or longest straight, anyone using it any other times = 5-second penalty?

hmm, that could maybe work, but again it may help other cars better and there's no way to monitor it unless you watch every drive's entire race.

There is a little race we want to put on before GTTCC, maybe it can be used there, but will look regardless

I'm glad that idea sounds good to you guys, but yes, unless you watch every individual driver each race which is lengthy indeed. Looking at it from the perspective I took it when I initially had the idea a few months back, it was more geared towards long races. Even if you did abuse it early on or ignore regulations, it'd come back to bite you eventually anyway in long races.

I don't think it'd be feasible for GTTCC, if I'm honest, purely because the format is three short races. Precisely for reasons Nurb stated; requires too much checking to police it.

it could just be a 'use whenever you want' test....

However, i'll slowly start revealing GTTCC-2 info for everyone.

On tonight's basis, if next week works we'll use a -5bhp power reduction instead of 10. Also, thinking of a short support race. A one make thing which would be free to all. Maybe nitro could be used in that. hmmmm

A small hatchback race of 4-5 laps?

Your call mate! Gives an interesting strategic element in the testing race, nonetheless, plus doesn't hurt to get feedback off the other guys.

Getting alone fine @swiftsmith, feeling the itch for racing again after polar/cnd's conti series finished a while back. Yourself?
Oh pretty good. Still feel like Polar needs to do one more season of both but that's just my opinion. I've mostly been trying to compete & get better around the forums.

I try to its just a matter of finding time. Like my problem at the mountain is I was way to tight & I kept hitting the walls coming out of the corner.
Join the club lol, no matter what I did I always clipped that wall on the exit, no matter how quick, slow, wide or tight I went

Well maybe you should show up this Wednesday.
I'll see what I can do. 👍 I know my girlfriend has said a few times before that she's fine for me to play the PS3 while she's around so I might race a few nights then miss a couple, but I wouldn't want her to think she's not #1 in my life.

I know the feeling.
