Sorry about the last race, phone kept ringing which put me right off and had to answer it, thats why i quit :grumpy:

Good racing though tonight and well organised 👍👍 i liked the fact there was no hanging around 👍

Pitstops cost me loads of time in both races :irked:

See you next week .

no worries buck, cheers for showing, luckily we could get moving this week

Strange day, brilliant racing in round 1 then pit screwed me over. Same race 2
Race 3 I think was a 1-2 in hand :(

any incidents PM us

Thanx guys
I also love brands and apricot hill so they should go just as well or better for me

A suggestion for true/mikey:

Hondas are a bit of pain tbh,

I suggest that we drop honda for season 2 cus they are either too fast or can't keep up dependent on a range between 5-10bhp (I don't mean just the civic, its the same deal with any honda)
I may have done badly race 2 but I was very near taking podium if I hadn't been pushed wide on the 5th corner

but maybe reducing 5bhp instead of 10 (success penalties) for all cars may work out well :sly:

I think we need to give Emo a permanent 20hp penalty, for being too good :P

I agree with Stig about dropping the penalty to 5bhp.

But I wasn't impressed with changing the boost on the fly for the second race.
In the first race yuc was flying doing 1.33 if memory is correct. I was down 53bhp (my engine wore out) and could only do a 1.35 with 280bhp.
In the second race I was only up to 300bhp but yuc was still 0.5 to 1 second faster per lap. If he had of had the correct boost it would have been quite even.
Now I'm not taking anything away from yuc because he was very fast and more importantly consistant. But we can't just change the rules for one car on the fly.
I don't want the results to change at all. Just some cars will suit certain tracks and some others. I chose the megane because after the vw it is the most powerful but also very heavy. Didn't like to drive the vw and if I won 330bhp - 50bhp wasn't too bad.

Enjoyed the racing tonite and had fun.
But no more on the fly changes this season?

Frustration mounting for Ninja

Following Rounds 10, 11 & 12 at Trial Mountain, the press caught up with NinjitsuEvolved, who looked less than happy.

"I've just come from meeting the stewards, they wanted my take on the Race 3 incidents with Smith and True. I admit that they were my fault, it's just so frustrating to go from the magnificent meeting we had at Daytona to this. An eighth place finish in Race 1 REALLY hurt, purely because now that is going to be one of my drops. I was really hoping to knock out the two seventh places I had at Cape Ring..."

Following this, Ninja then turned his frustrations on to his manufacturer.

"I came into this season and I could've had pretty much any car on the grid. Then I get a call from VW asking me to run their machinery this season. I accepted, as you would, when they say we're going to bring you a Golf. Then I get to Cape Ring and the damn thing is 13 years old. We have worked our fingers to the bone to try and make this thing competitive and we genuinely thought we'd turned the corner at Daytona. Then we come to track with actual corners and it's back to square one. We've had no factory support, no upgrades, hell, not even any promotion or advertising from inside VW. Everything has either been done ourselves, or by the Orange Fighters Organisation..."

Ninja was asked about next season, simply responding with "Let's just say I'm glad I only signed for One Season..."

Nobody from Volkswagen Motorsport was available for comment.

I wasn't happy with the set up with the megane my back end was really loose each time I tried to push it in the corners the back would try and come but other than that was good racing last night

Orange Fighters press conference

Interviewer:
So, Mikey... you managed a decent race day yesterday, how did you feel it went?

Mikey:
Well, in the first race, I managed to earn a second-row start despite being 30 hp down. I had a terrible start, i jump-started and allowed True to get alongside in turn 1. Jimmmy then shot up the inside of me at turn 3, knocked me and i, in turn, knocked True off the circuit. He had close words with me after the race but i refteshed his memory of the incident. I had a fantastic battle with Stig in the last few laps for 4th place but my tyres went off so I had to settle for 5th. Race 2 I started from the second row and got an average start, I got alongside Buck for 2nd place but was eventually squeezed out and I nearly ran off the circuit coming towards turn 4! Scary! I dropped into 7th place ahead of Smith and focused. I passed True, Stig and Jimmmy, picking them off one by one, until I came to Ninja. He was running third, I was running fourth and I was racing much faster, it took me more laps than it should have to get past him. I went on to finish third after nearly catching Emo infront but there weren't enough laps. Race 3 I was going well, I was in fifth place and catching the top 4 (Jimmmy, Emo, Buck and Ninja) after dropping away a little bit, I was going to challenge Buck for 4th place... then all of a sudden... my ECU cut out, I couldn't believe it! I lost over 30 seconds! Ninja suffered the same thing back at Cape Ring 5 weeks ago! Anyway, I was down to ninth and last place, so I just kept my head down and put in fast lap times, nearly setting the fastest lap in the process! On lap 7 I came around the hairpin to find Buck parked up and out of his car, then the same with True a lap later but smoke pouring out of his Ford, I was worried, they were both Fords and both had suffered problems forcing them to retire. I closed right in on Smith in sixth place but there wasn't enough time to pass him so I settled for seventh.

Interviewer:
Where do you hope you are in terms of the championship?

Mikey:
Well, after a fifth, a third and a seventh, I should hopefully retain third place in the standings, maybe even take second from Ninja. Emo recorded three podiums yesterday so there's possibly no challenge left. Emo has run away with the championship, which is simply amazing, his consistency is none I've ever seen before it's incredible.

---------------------------------------------

Interviewer:
Hi Ninja, what did you make of the races yesterday?

Ninja:
Absolutely terrible compared to Daytona a couple of weeks ago, although bearing in mind Daytona is about speed and the VW is about speed but Trial Mountain has corners and that's where I'm stuck... in the barrier... *laughs*. But in Race 1 I started towards the back and practically stayed there to finish eighth. Superpole did not go too well either, starting on the second-to-last row yet again and finished the race in fifth after recovering well, so I was pleased with that. The final race I had a good starting position, me and True fought in the first couple of corners until I out-braked myself, locked the front wheels and bashed into True, spinning him round and damaging his car, I did not realise I had also collected Smith and Yuc too, so I apologise for that. I had a great battle with Mikey towards the end of the race but I eventually lost 4th place to him until he lost power and dropped to the back of the field, I felt greatly for him as it turns out he suffered the same problem as me back at Cape Ring, and ECU failure.

Interviewer:
Where do you feel you are in the championship?

Ninja:
Well I do feel I am still in contention of winning the title but with 9 races to go and possibly a massive margin to Emo I do have my doubts about it. But hopefully I am still leading the battle between me, Mikey and Stig. But again, well done to Yuc on winning 2 races.

------------------------------------------------

Interviewer:
So, Jimmy, how did your race day go?

Jimmmy:
I felt that I could have done more yesterday but the Renault was not up to it, my 'Fat French Maid' did not perform well in any of the corners but the straight-line speed did almost make up for that. Qualifying went OK but I could have been higher and Race 1 was nothing to shout about, I finished seventh ahead of Smith and the retired oRace. Superpole went brilliantly and I put the car on the third-row behind Mikey. I charged past him but I may have squeezed him a little bit, I saw True go off behind me and Mikey was close to the grass, so if I did cause any part of that I apologise. I finished race 2 in a lonely eighth. Race 3 was fantastic, I started from the front and lead the first few laps. Me, Buck, Emo and Stig all had a fantastic battle between us until Stig passed all three of us to take the lead, Buck then passed Stig and Emo passed me and Stig, but Stig charged back to the front to win the final race of the day, kudos to him on his long-awaited first GTTCC win. I claimed third place and my third podium of the season, so I am pretty chuffed with that. Well... on to Brands Hatch!

Interviewer:

Where do you think you are in terms of the championship?

Jimmmy:

Well, after a seventh, an eighth and a third, I still believe I am up there in the top-5.

love it lol. Someone check my race 3 DC last night too, I might have climbed the mountain lol

Just going to say guys, as many will know, running a series is bloody hard work. Doing all specing and organizing yourself is draining, and it's hard to keep everyone happy. The Hondas were at a huge disadvantage, and it's not fair for them to follow around on their own lap after lap. I tried something last ight and it didn't work, mistake learnt. I don't want one car changes, but I couldn't sit back and let the hard work go to waste. So please guys, i'm trying my best and if people don't like racing here, then go, simple.

Dropping Honda, Honda is one of those annoying cars. It's a difficult car but a manufacture that makes a championship seem more entertaining. For next round, we'll be using -5bhp not -10. If this doesn't work then unfortunately Honda will have to go.

Stewards, will need your responses to my PM before results can be published

I'm confused  The headline says 'Honda dominate @ trial mountain'
yeah they did.
Basically the Honda is tricky. It's at 285bhp for a reason, too much and it blows everyone away, but when they get at least 3rd the car can't even keep up, yuc had no power race 1 and won. I thought maybe as the Honda is low bhp at the moment, only 5bhp would affect it more, but it never, so again yuc won, so we went back to the original 10bhp. With the Honda it's either given too much power so is 5 seconds off or too little so still kills us. Hopefully only 5bhp for everyone levels it out

Hope that makes sense lol

I know I'm not part of this series and whatnot, and I honestly don't decide to invade a thread just on a whim like this all the time, but I would just like to make a point on this.

Anyone who knows anyone who has tried to build a series from scratch knows it does take a lot of effort, and without help it can really wear you out mentally. What I want to say is: Help Nurb out! Be a good sport!

It's so easy to turn up to the races, try out the car you pick, run a race and say "car is too slow, fix this!" to the organiser. When you spec cars, you really do have to try everything you can in a relatively short space of time so that the people who are interested don't lose that interest, while trying to make sure that the cars are as even as they can be. I've had two ideas waiting in the winds for months now that I've kept hush hush about, because I wanted to make sure of absolutely everything before I put the idea out there.

If you can, always try to help the organiser out by trying all the cars. Don't just doing a lap or two and finding the most comfortable one, but working at it in the ones that aren't so comfortable so you get a feel for why they aren't so fast. Maybe one is too twitchy, maybe it doesn't have the same grunt as something with equal power, maybe one has much less mechanical grip. An organiser needs specific feedback sometimes, and also someone who is willing to think of ideas and has a little time in their day to perhaps try out those ideas to see if they work in bringing the cars closer. Sometime it might not even be the cars, sometimes the tracks chosen offer an overall advantage to one car because there are too many tracks that play to a its strengths, so it's good to have people working with the organiser out of the goodness of their hearts to relay that info too.

yeah they did.

It makes sense.

But also on my Meg when I'm minus 50bhp I am nowhere. Look at the other megane and I have less power than that and still the same weight. I could never get near yuc 1.33 with the power I had.
I understand its hard to keep up and keep everyone happy and we learnt a lot last nite. I enjoyed the racing and that hard work. Look forward to brands and Rome.

To help I will test all the cars you have put up to see how close i find them. What track is going to be typical of next season so I can get good results?
