Ahh, that makes sense, I think I just read True's post in isolation because I was tagged and that is why I got confused!

Sorry for any confusion all.
You did make me panic for a moment. :nervous:

As far as I can tell, the Volvo isn't as strong as the C4, so loosing power isn't an option for me. I wish that I'd chosen the C4 now, it's a really good handling FF and I'm regretting my choice. The Volvo was hard work in the BTCC and it'll be the same again here. I think that it's a tough car to spec, because it doesn't handle very well, so it needs to be faster than everything else on the straights to set the same kind of lap times.....which I know annoys people when on a straight the Volvo can pull away, but what people don't realise is that in the bends I'm struggling for grip and loosing time. :ouch:

I did test the Ford yesterday for a few laps around Laguna and it's much more responsive, I get snap oversteer on corner entry with my base tune, so when tuned properly that could be a fun car to drive. I might look at the Ford again if I get enough time to put in the laps and tweak the tune. 👍

Yeah I was finding similar things, with the FFs my order of preference was Integra, Citreon, Ford, Golf, Volvo. First 3 were close, last 2 were close but I found quite a big gap between the two groups.

I found the Golf was good but boring. It handles well, is a bit slower than others on the straight but it lacked a challenge, it felt a bit numb and predictable. I like a car to either have some zest, or to be challenging to drive. :)

I didn't try the Honda, I knew that there wouldn't be any available anyway, as the Honda is always popular. Honda's are all good in GT6, I don't think that there's a bad one, so it should be a solid performer. 👍

I rarely drive FR cars. I can drive them once they have a good tune applied and I enjoy them too, but I just like FF more. Personal preference I guess.

Never know maybe someone wants to give up the C4, just know your not having mine lol.
True maybe the best to ask if you can get in a C4 and may know who want to swap cars.
Maybe not with for the volvo, but the ford seems a ok car.
Just abit weird as playing with the setting yesterday not seem to change anything in the way the car went round the track.
Not really test it that much sure it could be top runner.
The volvo a hard car it's just gives no room for error, any volve drivers going to find pack racing a bit of a nightmare.
As the volvo seems best to brake alittle before your brake zones.
Noticed this problem running with Ian, I needed to give him more room on the brakes.
Or face hitting him up the back side, as he got away of making any car wider than it is.

Going live on racing drivers just not going to let that happen.
As we learnt on Btcc 2nd place give room braking for 1st, and 3rd place nips in to take 2nd or 4th place bashes in to take 2nd.
I always looked at things if I hit someone in btcc I reported it, it did lead me to getting 1 round bans :(
But I looked at it as I was a fair driver and got things looked into.

I not to sure what Gttcc going to be like in the way of reporting things, guess I'll just moan at Blue ;)

I am early on the brakes in the Volvo, prrimarily because I need to slow down more than other cars to make the apex, but also to try and keep the front tyres as cool as possible to give maximum grip in the bend. Late braking is not a good idea in that car.

Was hoping to make this look better but photoshop not working, not alot seems to work on my pc.
Could not even edit in paint and save it grrrr.

Anyway I'll be going Indepdent, as I'm not sure what races I'll be able to make.
I'm hoping I've picked a car colour that not clash to much with others not sure what all be using.
So I've gone with GT Pasteltone 002-c and sticking to my Plasma blue silica rims.
Not to sure if to run carbon black bonet or stick to car colour and not sure if I can have aero in some races and not in others.
This pic of car just using front aero:

I hope no one esle using the same sort of colour, looks rubbish so I hope not lol

tiring day, got home and my mind is blown now

Ok, let's try remember everything :P

Regarding the accumulating. As Ian said I really do think maybe we took it too far, my fault for bringing it up in the first place
The different -bhp for different BHP cars seems fair, each one affected evenly. But I think we should drop the accumulating. Average pace of the grid (in D1) is going to be boosted massively, and I think it won't really be needed.

Volvo is 310bhp. I was confused as well then  @sb360 mad meant it was 300 on the sheet. phew thank god for that :P

The pen sheet now. It's great, but as ian said not everyone will be able to access it. I think just chucking in the top 5 is good enough in my opinion.

@CptMadBean very rarely get complaints. those that do happen are mainly just accidents. It's the main thing I love here, great sensible drivers. But yeah I expect that PM from you mad ;)

@Ian_83 I found the VW was great, it turned in under braking, if you want to swap let me know

I think that is it....

Thanks True. :)

I'll be racing the Volvo today and hopefully I can make it work. I'm an old man, so it suits me , I have my tartan picnic blanket on the parcel shelf and a box of Kleenex (other brands of tissues are available) and I've got the seat adjusted properly so that my face is three inches from the steering wheel and my bi-focals are just high enough that I can see out. 👍

Only real issue is that the track stewards won't let me race in my flat cap. They keep insisting that I wear a helmet, which is some new plastic thing which will protect my head for when a car falls onto it?

Thought of that, here's our present to you :)

I'll be wearing an old aviator's cap

The golf can be fun really and round laguna a few days back my C4 would not beat it time.
There again It was a lucky lap as I went round turn 3 not dropping under 87mhp, that was really fun coming out.
Car bang on the limits, still not a 33 lap but made me yelp in fun.
Only thing that made me pick the C4 is it's just a nutter going round the track, it can I think make the most mistakes.
Only got a few problems.
One I use dash view it's dash view is sick, I love it just to be blacked out lol.
Two car looks do citroen make a good looking car (No they don't)

Sorry to any citroen lovers out there lol

Do you want me to take it out then?

IMO I still think its a good thing, I just don't see a drawback to having it as its no more complicated to do (as everyone will probably need to be told what power to run whichever penalty system you use) and it will mean that in race 3 performance levels are even closer than they otherwise would be for great racing.

Its your call @True-blue-8 but personally I don't see a disadvantage to doing it and I think it will level the playing field better than not doing it and wont be any more difficult to do this than it will to do normal % pens. I am more than happy to be the one typing out the penalties after each race if this is the issue!

we'll give it a go tonight mate 👍

Good thinking, Are you happy for me to make this change to the spreadsheet after the problem that @xflow1390 noticed?

If the accumulated seems a bit high we could always arrange some sort of hybrid system, maybe after race 2 everyone (Edit Everyone in positions 1 - 10, I still think 11 - 16 should go up to full power regardless of the penalty they had for previous race)has their penalties halved and then pens for 1 - 5 happen again? That would mean that in @xflow1390's example:

You would win race 1 (-25) and come 5th in race 2 and have (-16) for race 3
you would win race 1 (-25 and come 6th in race 2 and have (-13) for race 3

Would that be a better way to eliminate the desire to drop a position? I wouldn't sacrifice 2 points for 3BHP personally.

Edit: I was envisaging one person running the spreadsheet and then just typing all the power needed into the lobby after each race, I am happy to do that if we do it that way.

Okies :)

So who's got to use the nissan or Toyota?
it would be great if you could use one of those please mate. Nissan is being looked down on by the other, but it's the best FR in my opinion

@swiftsmith after being allowed back in and starting the season with a reprimand and being watched, I think it would be a good idea if you provided me with a # after the 5th time of asking please 👍
