Yea I see the driver, but there is no arrow or any sort of drop box, I can't click on anything
next to the number left of the box

actually try double clicking the box under driver

It doesn't look like that on my pad, I have no little arrows and if I double click it just zooms in, if I hold on something it will highlight the whole row and give me the option to "copy or define"

It's not interactive for me atall, its the same on my phone aswell

Ahhh, OK, looks like you're screwed... Curse you Apple and your alien technology!!!

Stewards only True?

I just opened it and literally said:

"I know what this"

@sb360 if you need an extra pair of hands (well, fingers...), I'm there mate. I've done all this before. I've also saved a copy so I can also back up the stewards when we run into any dilemmas. 👍

Just been doing some adding up and dividing and have come up with 2 scenarios:

If I win race 1 (-25bhp) then go on to come 5th in race 2 (-3bhp) race 3 I would have -28bhp
If I win race 1 (-25bhp) then go on to come 6th in race 2 (no pen)race 3 I would have -12 / -13 depending on rounding

So only loosing 2 points between 5th and 6th I would gain 15bhp / 16bhp

Not done any testing to know for sure but I think I'd rather have the bottom scenario. Especially with superpole for race 3.

exactly, the more and more I think about it, the more i'm torn whether or not to use accumulating pens

You can use it. The form isn't as complicated as you think it is, @sb360 has done all the hard work (cheers mate) and it's really easy to use!
I know the form is great, but I mean what you'll eventually be left with.

lets try it out tonight. mikey or pam, if one of you can can you change the Volvo bhp to 310 please and we'll try it tonight

Thanks everyone for the kind words, I am not sure how locked down it is currently but if you just change the number next to Volvo on the right it will make that change, I am sure @True-blue-8 said that the Volvo had been changed down to 300 a couple of pages back though?

If the accumulated seems a bit high we could always arrange some sort of hybrid system, maybe after race 2 everyone (Edit Everyone in positions 1 - 10, I still think 11 - 16 should go up to full power regardless of the penalty they had for previous race)has their penalties halved and then pens for 1 - 5 happen again? That would mean that in @xflow1390's example:
If I win race 1 (-25bhp) then go on to come 5th in race 2 (-3bhp) race 3 I would have -28bhp
If I win race 1 (-25bhp) then go on to come 6th in race 2 (no pen)race 3 I would have -12 / -13 depending on rounding

So only loosing 2 points between 5th and 6th I would gain 15bhp / 16bhp

You would win race 1 (-25) and come 5th in race 2 and have (-16) for race 3
you would win race 1 (-25 and come 6th in race 2 and have (-13) for race 3

Would that be a better way to eliminate the desire to drop a position? I wouldn't sacrifice 2 points for 3BHP personally.

Edit: I was envisaging one person running the spreadsheet and then just typing all the power needed into the lobby after each race, I am happy to do that if we do it that way.

sorry guys my net cut out :grumpy:

The form is open for anyone to play with. anyone else not able to see it?

I can't access it without being on a PC and I don't have that running all the time. So race days someone will have to shout my power out.

To be honest, I think that the whole thing has been made over complicated, but I'm just the new guy and I only want to race rather than getting too involved. :)

Not that I'm aware of..... @True-blue-8?????

Blue can you update the post 3 with where we testing tonight, you've posted it some where in this room.
But I can't find it trying to hard to look i think.

I also tried to use the pen spreed sheet, but mikey in the first box.
And I think thats messing it up as 2nd I could but my name in and the bhp show up.
But then race 2 only first few boxes had names in it, and It was not giving bhp?

Why a pen system so hard to work out.
Cars should be balanced to make racing as fair as it can be, and if you do pens by % drop.
Is that not hitting some cars harder than others?

I can just see race night becoming a nightmare with all us asking what bhp we need to be.
1st -25
2nd -20
3rd -18
4th -15
5th -10
6th -8
Then in race 2 if you come 7th or higher you got no pen in race 3, there again that could I guess out balance the cars.
Maybe % is better, but I would have alot better idea what my Bhp needs to be.

Percentage is actually the only way to avoid this problem, if you take 30BHP off a car with 270BHP it makes a lot more difference than taking 30BHP off a car with 310.

Doing 9% means that both cars are affected the same way.

I can see what people are saying about it being a little complicated (in reality the only complex bit is getting the maths right in the spreadsheet and testing to make sure it works as expected, after that its just selecting a name and telling that driver how much power they should have), I think it will be unworkable if everyone is planning to keep track of their own power, the only way I see it working is if one person runs the spreadsheet and posts in game chat the power everyone should be at. I am happy to do this, there will be more than enough time for it between races and there is a maximum of 10 drivers who are affected anyway, usually less I would expect.

I think its important to keep things as balanced as possible and the whole reason behind using percentages was to get rid of a problem that became apparent during the last season.

Edit: To add the text in bold.

Ahh, I knew I had seen it. From 9:57 yesterday on page 33. Are we back up to 310 then?
I think that True-Blue was just referring to MadBean's post above him, where MadBean notices that the original penalty info in the OP's doesn't include a 310hp option. ;) It's all a mis-understanding I think.

The Volvo is still at 310hp, as per the car specs. 👍 Hopefully @True-blue-8 will confirm it too.

Looks as though True has recently edited the 'spoiler' penalty info now to include a 310hp penalty, so that pretty much confirms it really.

Thank god for that.

Ahh, that makes sense, I think I just read True's post in isolation because I was tagged and that is why I got confused!

Sorry for any confusion all.
