The last console (other than possibly the Wii U, weirdly, but that's an anomaly) before dudebros and grandmas hit the scene.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuub zero.

The console that proved Nintendo were fighting a losing battle in the console market and that their first party titles were passing their sell-by date.

Uncool.

Many hours (and three actual) tournaments of Smash Bros Melee.

Fond memories. Except Wind Waker.

Sub-Zero.

The stuff of legend. This is the console of my childhood, everyone had one (except me). I loved these, SZ.

While I'm not a huge Nintendo fan, the GameCube had some memorable titles.

Cool.

N64 was awesome. Game Cube, eh. The Wii was cool though, gotta love the bowling.

Meh.

Yes it was inferior compared to the Xbox and PS2 and couldn't really matchup to the N64's popularity.

But it was a decent enough alternative if you wanted to be different back then. Although I never owned one.

I just don't get the Nintendo thing. The Wii was a great idea, but that's about it. As a brand they appear to represent the younger end of the market, so it's a 'meh' from me.

Low cool.

It's no Super Nintendo (Sub Zero) or Nintendo 64 (high cool), but it did have some awesome games. Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime, Super Smash Brothers... And it is the last console Nintendo made that wasn't all about gimmicky motion controls and stuff.
Exactly, games consoles and gaming will always be uncool.
Wut?

When I was a kid, having a gaming console was indeed considered cool. We used to take turns visiting each other to play games and stuff... And we weren't exactly a geeky bunch  Even today, in my twenties, nobody'd look at me funny for owning a current gaming console - which I don't, coincidentally. Having a vintage console, like a SNES, for example, is actually something many of my friends would consider cool. Even the non-gamers.

Yes it was the same for me when I was little, in the PS2 days. Now though? For me it isn't cool, even though I still enjoy playing games, even 'nerdy' games like Euro Truck Simulator. I love gaming, but it's not cool.
