Why do people vote SU because racecar/supercar? I honestly hate it when people do that.
Well as I said last post I can't speak for everyone that does it.
I do it because...
1. The reason they are bought and the type of attitude that goes with them. Not everyone buys them for that reason there are likeable people that buy supercars but those that get money and feel they need to show it and use them for a status symbol...uncool
2. The fact that certain companies (looking at you Ferrari) does asinine things with their upper tier cars halo/hyper cars that you must buy an older one or get hand picked by Ferrari and get sent a ticket. Or whatever is another issue...SU easy
3. They serve little to no purpose and even the purpose they do serve can't be used very often and it touches a bit on point one I made. Those who can afford at times don't know how to drive a car to full potential or even half of it since it was only bought as a symbol to start with...uncool
4. By the numbers like a race car and some only build them to go racing. Uncool, cool if you're an engineer or engineering student like I am but for the regular person going off of surface context it isn't
And I know I have other reasons that I've posted on Supercar cool walls that I cant remember and don't intend to look up right at this moment. But that's why I do it. I find there is a difference in a Modern super car (which I don't always vote SU) and that of a classic or vintage super car (which I almost always vote SZ)
EDIT: Just noticed you put racecar/supercar. The two shouldn't be paired. Race cars get auto SU because they don't belong on walls that are comparing the coolness of road going production machines or even customer ordered road going machines (which are all legal to drive). Now there can be a break in the rules from time to time but that is depending on how strict the person is to the rule. I've only voted uncool or meh once on a race car.
Also once again Race cars are by the numbers, they are built to a certain spec for a singular purpose, obviously racing, and are run by committees and gov't like groups called "teams"
. And thus it is all seriously uncool at the end of the day.
Oh and you have to be something called a race car driver to drive them on a level that people even begin to start to care.
