This is so cool that even absolute zero is shivering from the cold. It's Italian, Mid-Engined, V8-powered, manual Alfa Romeo in red for crying out loud! I loved you, Miura, but it's time for something even more sexy.
Straight to the ice box

Have we (finally!) found a company for the Miura?

Well for one I find giant bubble headlights to be hideous....

The half-assed deed has been done...

I want the Miura to remain on top for now because in my opinion it's the second-coolest car in the world, after the McLaren F1, which has yet to be nominated or polled.

I find the F1 to be a bit too geeky. Not uncooly so, I just wouldn't put it quite in the same company as the Miura. I'd still SZ it though.

The F1 will be SZ or icebox for sure, BUT I think it doesn't stand a chance to join the Miura because the Supercar=SU guys... I can assure you that at least ONE of them will ruin it :indiff:

Why would we ruin it? At this point it isn't a modern day super car but actually a 20 year old piece of machine that has aged very well and is now more classic than anything else. So I'd vote it SZ, but I can't speak for others that vote SU for super car/hyper car to begin with. And if you don't understand why we do it then not sure if you should try explaining the matter to others.

Why do people vote SU because racecar/supercar? I honestly hate it when people do that.

Well as I said last post I can't speak for everyone that does it.

I do it because...
1. The reason they are bought and the type of attitude that goes with them. Not everyone buys them for that reason there are likeable people that buy supercars but those that get money and feel they need to show it and use them for a status symbol...uncool

2. The fact that certain companies (looking at you Ferrari) does asinine things with their upper tier cars halo/hyper cars that you must buy an older one or get hand picked by Ferrari and get sent a ticket. Or whatever is another issue...SU easy

3. They serve little to no purpose and even the purpose they do serve can't be used very often and it touches a bit on point one I made. Those who can afford at times don't know how to drive a car to full potential or even half of it since it was only bought as a symbol to start with...uncool

4. By the numbers like a race car and some only build them to go racing. Uncool, cool if you're an engineer or engineering student like I am but for the regular person going off of surface context it isn't

And I know I have other reasons that I've posted on Supercar cool walls that I cant remember and don't intend to look up right at this moment. But that's why I do it. I find there is a difference in a Modern super car (which I don't always vote SU) and that of a classic or vintage super car (which I almost always vote SZ)

EDIT: Just noticed you put racecar/supercar. The two shouldn't be paired. Race cars get auto SU because they don't belong on walls that are comparing the coolness of road going production machines or even customer ordered road going machines (which are all legal to drive). Now there can be a break in the rules from time to time but that is depending on how strict the person is to the rule. I've only voted uncool or meh once on a race car.

Also once again Race cars are by the numbers, they are built to a certain spec for a singular purpose, obviously racing, and are run by committees and gov't like groups called "teams" :sly:. And thus it is all seriously uncool at the end of the day.

Oh and you have to be something called a race car driver to drive them on a level that people even begin to start to care.

Who voted SU though...

...No...No way.

JAHGEE? WHAT THE HELL, MAN!

He's already admitted that his vote wasn't genuine:

And besides, if I had voted how I truly felt (Sub Zero BTW), then the car would only have a 1.764

His thinking seems to be that it's some sort of game where you try and get the coolest car on the wall. It's not.

A beautiful thing, Sub Zero. It's not a total Ice Box in my mind but I knew it was gonna get there. Certainly not outnumber the Miura though, in this GTPlanet nothing will come close enough.

[Sinner] I actually don't like the 33. Or rather I don't like bits of both generations of it.

The headlights are quite goofy, but they were much improved for the 2nd gen... but they cut holes in the 2nd gen for vents and filled them with black bits. But then I wouldn't mind that if the car was black. [/Sinner]

And though it's not a Ferrari, people will mistake it for one and that's not cool...

Hmm. I can't go subzero. A mere cool will have to do.

There are four types of people who buy supercars. Investors (storing a car away stops it being a car; uncool), famous people (who drive them like nobs and under the influence; uncool), nouveau riche trust fund kids (who also drive them like nobs and under the influence; uncool), and fat old guys who always wanted a fuhrahreh and a wife half their age (uncool).

As for race cars... Let me know how cool you look driving an A1GP car down the shops or picking your kids up from school in an Audi R18. Oh yeah, that's right, you can't - and you'd look ridiculous even if you could. And you can't even drive them at all (unless you're reading this and happen to be Chris Zoechling, Nick McMillen or Jann Mardenborough).

I dont see why the Miura is even pictured that much greater than this and several other classics of the era and after.
