I find the Countach Anniversary edition more beautiful than this one and I think Subarus are also beautiful in their own way to me. No I don't mean the scooby gang from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you can be very random sometimes.
Subarus will never be "beautiful," but they look really nice to me and that's part of the reason I love them. :P

The correct term for those doors on a Lamborghini is 'Lambo doors'.

If you have the audacity to put those kind of doors on any other car it's 'scissor doors'.
It's still scissor doors either way. They only get called Lambo doors because they made them famous. I believe 1 or 2 other cars had them before Lamborghini.

Some of us, myself included, have mentioned that we like the Countach but prefer the LP500 or 5000S. So for reference...

I think you mean "angular", rather than "square." A Nissan Cube or Scion xB is square, while a Countach or Stratos is angular.

I think it was in the late 90's when i saw one in real life in action at a car demo.

it must have been in the late 90's because they had one of the first 996 carrera's there aswell.

the Countach did drifts and donuts INDOORS... since that day lamborghini's have always been one of my favorite supercars. it was a 80's model though but still...the sound was incredible! still have some photo's of it, might want to scan them.
Sub Zero for me :)

One of my favorite designs, of anything, ever.

I'd love to get into a discussion about how late 1960s Italian design was influenced by turn-of-the-century modernism and also, in my opinion, a reaction to internationalism...

And then there is the sound!!

Just listen to that crescendo as that glorious small displacement 60 valve v12 approaches 8,000rpm!

Seriously, seriously uncool.

Which cars were those? I've not heard of any other cars before Lambo having those type of doors.
One was an old Alfa Romeo concept made sometime around the Miura era. It was designed by Gandini as well and looked incredibly similar but it wasn't Lamborghini's to call the door as their own invention.

Seriously uncool.

I don't care if you're an admin, I've gotta say it: that's going too far.

As for the car itself, well, I have said on many previous occasions that the Countach is ugly and that the Ferrari 512BB is by far the better of the two main big, mid-engine 70s/80s supercars, but seeing that pic in the OP, I'm starting to change my mind. And it's a V12 Lamborghini with doors that open upward, which, I think, is cool in itself.

As for which version I'd rather have, well, I'm not really sure. They all have their charms. Part of me likes the uncluttered lines of the original, part of me likes the aero addenda of the later models. I'll give them all an easy Sub Zero, with one possible exception - the wing available on later models. That might be the most egregious styling-ruiner, and looking at the roofline of this car it may not need anything on the back to prevent premature flow seperation. If there is any, there probably isn't much and could be solved just as well (or better) with a small spoiler.

Huh. Well I can't think of a reasonable argument so I'll leave it there. It's your opinion, after all. :)

I'm with @Famine on the Countach basically because I personally think this is an ugly wedge of a car and that the later one with the aero parts added (including the spoiler), is a much better looking wedge (but still a wedge).

The wings added on 80's models just mess up the appearance of the car. They could have done with a normally sized, normally shaped spoiler, just they HAD to make it giant and pointy. They did a better job later on with the Diablo's wing.

I mean I love Lamborghini's aggressive styling, but it simply can't be applied to spoilers. It doesn't work.

What does any of this have to do with what you quoted?

Saying Lamborghinis are auto SU is just plain wrong. Out of all the high-end manufacturers, they're probably the coolest, simply because of how their designs tend to be nuts and yet good-looking at the same time. And their designs, in (as far as I can tell) most cases, are originals - they don't do retro, or constantly rehash old cars (the top models, at least) - but they don't do technology for its own sake or have F1-inspired everything, and they don't (as far as I know) expect the media to swear undying fealty or drive only their specially cranked-up fleet cars. They don't have cologne, theme parks, or teddy bears. They're an honest and simple manufacturer of supercars.

Okay. What does that have to do with me being an Administrator?

His entire worldview is based around a vaguely defined idea of authority holding him back, defying the opinions of authority on GTP is the only way to strike back at the conspiracy.
