The B13 was one of the best driving front-drivers from the early 90's. The steering was long-geared, as with most mass market cars of the time, but it had a playful chassis and a nice balance thanks to the relatively short wheelbase. The GA16DE was also a fine motor... revvy, torquey and quite sophisticated compared to the 4AFEs and whatnots of the time.
The SR20 was just fantastic. Revved like nobody's business. Came with forged internals, even in non-turbo spec. Ate gearboxes like nobody's business, either... but that's another story. The SE-R is a cult car for good reasons.
This was the car that could have spawned a Civic-like dynasty. But it didn't. Shame.

We owned one of these. I then bought a pick-up version years later, but didn't have the time or cash to hold onto it. They were fun, nimble and lightweight. They also had no legroom, the crash safety of a suitcase (not a Samsonite, either...) and no suspension travel, so hit a mid-corner bump hard enough and you could run out of both travel and grip at the same time. It was also horrendously anonymous, and prone to rust.
But that's not why this car is uncool. The 1990 Tsuru is uncool because it's not a Sentra.
