This is was such an oddity given it was built as a road going version of the '97 GTR & retained much of the rawness, yet in certain instances, was also to be marketed as a grand tourer version of the F1.

Still, solid cool.

A regular McLaren F1 is, in my eyes at least, a league above Sub-Zero because there has never before or since been something like it.

It also helps that it is a beautiful car and Thus is the car I would choose if I was given a choice of any car that has ever existed. I love the McLaren F1 if you didn't notice.

This is uglier than a regular F1, but it is still well in Sub-Zero Territory.

I've openly expressed this before in the extremely hotly debated original F1's topic but in my honest opinion this is a much, much cooler car than the normal F1 purely because of the styling - there's nothing else like it in terms of presence.

Is it prettier than the normal one? No, but then I don't think the F1 is a particularly attractive car in the first place precisely because it's "functional"; the Longtail takes that functional styling and adds a heavy dose of overstyled craziness with the scoops and vents and the length that makes it appear so much sleeker.....

Wow. I don't think I've ever raved that much about a McLaren F1 of all things.

SZ, simply because the F1 is a "Concorde" moment in history, plus the Long-tail has an equally legendary status, much alike it's equally bonkers homologated rivals like the CLK GTR and GT-One.

The long-tail is just as awesome a machine as the standard F1 in my book. Sure it's not as beautiful as the standard F1 (even then beautiful is a strong word to use regarding the F1 IMO) but it's not hideous, in fact quite the opposite. Whilst the standard F1 is clean and smooth, this is dramatic and more edgy in design (and somewhat divisive), but really channels that 'race-car for the road' feel.

I prefer the "original" F1 but still really like the styling of these, and it's likewise SZ for me. Also interesting and unusual road car to race car to road car lineage.

Coolio. Never really understood the massive hype over longtailing all the things, but the F1 as a whole is a pretty amazing street legal race car.

I like this and the normal F1.

But...they're really not my thing. A little too impractical.

Solid cool, but not sub-zero.

Far uglier than the original F1 and even the F1 LM which I believe we have also polled.

Just about still scrapes a cool even though it looks utterly ridiculous.

INB4 "Seriously Uncool because supercar".

It's a classic supercar, which usually doesn't get that treatment. What are you talking about?

Anyways I gave it a cool, as explained in the last thread that dealt with a McLaren F1, which was last year and the LM.

As others have mentioned, not as attractive as the original shape, in fact it's way too much. But it's still a McLaren F1, which can't be anything other than cool, just not SZ. Plus its rarity means that it won't be used much = -1 cool point.

As a race version, yes, very cool. As a road going version, not so much, still cool though, it's a McLaren F1 afterall.

Coincidentally I nominated the LM variant before and seeing as many people said they would rather have the Longtail GT than the LM, I decided to know if that's true or not and now looking at it, I'd say it's false. Some would still have the regular F1 over both variants when one variant has been "longtailed" while the other retains the GTR kit except converted into a road car.
