That one, ironically enough. Then again, from my experience with the Modular family (two 4.6s, 1 5.4), they all love murdering spark plugs. In fact, that spark plug issue lead to me having to watch my grandfather beg my uncle to sell him back his GMC Sierra 2500 with an LQ4 since the 4.6 that was bought as a replacement spent more time either in the shop or as a land ornament.

Really?

The two 4.6s and two 5.4s we had had no problems like that at all, I don't think they did have anything go wrong with them.

I'll put it this way to sum up my experience with them: One of the 4.6s was completely dead at 110k miles. Even my sister's GM 3400 V6 in her old minivan (one of the worst engines that GM has built in the past 20 years) lasted longer than it.

The other 4.6 often munched plugs, but other than that, it ran alright. It got sold at 150k miles.

The 5.4 belongs to my father's employer and is used as a work truck for the maintenance staff. Frankly, the only thing that really works on it is the mechanic. My dad (and the rest of the maintenance staff) all hope that it gets sold because they are getting sick of having one truck between the 15-20 of them.

I suppose that may have happened to ours if their mileage got that high.

I think ours never went over 85k miles on either engine and they were all weekend cars besides the 5.4s

They were used everyday and used for towing too and yet again, no issues with those two.

We took one of the 4.6s and 5.4s to Germany and gave them a spanking on the autobahns and yet again, never caused an issue. If anything my 2.8 Cologne V6 is worse than those and even my 2.0 Pinto I4 gave me more issues.
