Cool. It's a sleeper, basically. Looks like any other ordinary sedan out there, but with an LS in it.

I like the idea of a big V8 in a sleeper body but would you want to look at that every day? The Lotus Carlton did this better over 10 years before... and much cooler.

Uncool.

Council estate badge on a aspirational middle-management sized car. Uncool.

It's mostly related to the sad fact that the damn things are crammed into any car, starting from sand rails into classic 911's, Imprezas, Miatas, Lancer Evolutions, Skylines, BMW's, M-B's, Jaguars etc etc, which is just as questionable as the stuff stance crowd does, by people who can't be bothered to modify the original motor.

There's an odd kind of dissonance with cars like this and some others. If this was a 'normal' saloon car with an average four-pot engine, then you swapped in a GM LS engine on your own, it becomes "Hey, that's an interesting project car!". But if this comes with a big, thirsty engine from the factory as standard, then it's often a floppy barge from a company with more money than sense.

It's still uncool either way.

I'd say cool.

Then again, I'm a sucker for a big sedan with a V8. Shame it didn't have the 6MT like the Commodore, but, I suppose that misses the point with it being a Senator.

Originality I will give you, but unlike the stance crowd putting a small block all-aluminium V8 in those lightweight sports cars is an extremely significant performance increase and is actually fully functional.

The kits these days are designed so that weight distribution is a non-issue and you're gaining fairly little weight to begin with along with your 3-400hp out of the box.

The Clubsport had the 6MT, the Senator like the Grange LWB are more of a cruiser.

Nice Accord... errh... Falcon? Anonymous doesn't even begin...

Also, I can't think of a more unappetizing name than Senator... maybe... Congressman?

Uncool.

I used to think that Senator sounded like Sonata :scared: This generation of Commodore isn't the best looking, but it's still a Commodore. With a big engine and a HSV badge. Cool.

Affordable luxury with a stonking LS V8 and nice styling, I vote cool!

Eh. The 4L60 always could have used another gear between 3rd and 4th, but I've never been a fan of the 6 speed that GM hooked up to small blocks at the time so I don't think beyond the principle of having it as an option offering a stick in a car like this would have actually improved it.
