It looks charming from some angles than it really is from others. Therefore Uncool.

And a good example of stylish MPV is Ford S-Max.

To be fair, the second generation Rodius/Stavic looks somewhat normal.

My Dad has one of these.

And I just finished driving the second-generation one the other week, in both RWD and AWD form.

These aren't terrible vans, but they're not particularly memorable, either. Or wouldn't be, if not for the styling.[color]

I think this Ken Greenley guy needs to go back to the Royal College of Art in London...as a student. :ill:

Greenley didn't set out to make pretty cars.

He set out to make memorable cars.

See, many people have the same opinion of Ssangyong as they do of Chinese cars (and, indeed, it's been mistaken for one right here in this very poll). That they're garbage.

Those people will never, ever, ever in a million years buy a Ssangyong, even if it looks like Adriana Banks.

But if you make it memorable, some people might just buy them to be... errh... different.

My father is one such person. He traded in a perfectly good Hyundai Starex (H100 to yon Brits, Unknown van to yon Americans) for it.

I thought he was nuts.

But here we are, many, many years of fading paint, broken plastic trim and worn tires later, and it's still running like a champ.

The new one has a much more handsome design, slightly better driving dynamics (though the ABS didn't prevent front tire lock on our track test) and a much nicer lookng interior that's still full of awfully hard plastics.

I doubt anyone will be paying that much attention to them, though.

As it's an MPV, it's as uncool as can be, or should be. But because it isn't a forgettable one, simply... meh.

I'm surprised to see the car managed to survive more than 10 years on the market... have the sales been acceptable at least?
