Yes @ERAUfan97 posted that video on the XFEL forum yesterday. He is on team Tesla, so he felt good seeing that.
I felt kind of sorry... for the driver of the Hellcat. I'm sure if it was the same caliber driver in both cars, team Tesla wouldn't be too happy.

Don't think a decent driver would have done that much better...

The Challenger red lighted it and looks like he let up after he jumped the gun. I don't think it was exactly a fair race, however I still think head to head with proper starts the Tesla would beat the Hellcat over a quarter mile.

Put decent drivers in both cars and it should be a close race. The Hellcat would likely win though.

The P85D humiliates an Avenatador on take off a Challenger would even easier to beat lol.

I didn't post the Tesla link as a piss take of the Hellcat, more to make the point that whatever the headline performance numbers, it's unlikely the average owner will get anywhere near them.

The Hellcat might do 11.25s on a drag strip, with a pro driver. The Tesla will do 11.6 anywhere, with anyone at the wheel.

It ran high 10's on drag radials.
the thing is though, if you where to drag this atleast more then once chances are you will be getting Drag Radials anyway.

That Video showing the challenger reeks of someone who has never gone to a strip before, because when i've gone basically anyone running more then 500hp had some.

Not really. A lot of people run street radials.

How many people do you personally know that own one of these? And drag race them? Without slicks? And have done so enough times that you can definitely make this statement?

I live at a drag strip during the summer months. I don't know anyone with a Hellcat yet but I know people with R35 GTR's, R8s, Vipers etc and they all run street tires.

Ah. It seemed to me that you were speaking specifically to the Hellcat.
No, not specifically but based on my experiences in the past there are a lot of people that won't buy them unless they are serious about racing.

The people who buy drag radials are the ones who either only let the car loose on the track or are looking to get the best time out of their setup. As Slash said, a lot or better yet most, will run street radials because chances are high they like unleashing the cars on the highway. You see it a lot at TX2K in Houston; drag radials for the strip whether track car or not (since there are awards) & street radials for the night time events.

Yeah I guess the Drag Strips in US bring alot more Casuals then they do in OZ and more varied events, the scene here is quite small.

That's not to say there won't be people who race them with drag radials, but it's the same for any car really. In comparison I see just as many Fox bodies on drag radials as I do street radials. Some who swap sets right there in the waiting lanes.
