Voted cool. Still really miss my 1st car. Love the rotary engine!

Decent looking car. Looks much better than the Porsche 944.

COOL

is nowhere near slow (155 bhp/liter)

Power by liter doesn't say if a car is fast or not. You can have a lot of horsepower by liter (See..well almost anything from Japan) but not having of lot of displacement (Below 3L) and your engine may not produce a lot of HP per liter but has like 5,6,7 and even 8 liters. So the HP per liter number is pretty irrelevent (Except for ricers against muscle car people )

Cool.
1) It looks awesome
2) It's a rotary which itself is cool as it's not widely used
3) It's rare here in Minnesota, I have only seen about 10 in my lifetime. Thankfully none were riced out.

Mine's a spaceship captain who isn't a spaceship captain who has awesome glasses. No ripoff here.

Cool. It's got everything I like, but I prefer the Mitsubishi Starion.

Subzero.

And where are you guys getting these periodic table avatar things?

Cool.
I like how it looks. It may not grab your attention, but I like angular designs in general.
From all accounts, they go well and they handle well.
Lots of potential to improve on an already solid base. There's not much I don't like about them, except maybe the economy, but to me, that doesn't change whether the car is cool or not.

Lovely car. Absolutely adore it, and it was a bit of a realistic dream car for me. But at the end of the day, women don't want to stand around while you explain your Wankel. So uncool, but only just.

Never understood how people can get so excited by rotarys... no torque, rubbish fuel consumption, horrendous oil consumption, sound rubbish.

And this RX7 is a pastiche of the front engined Porsche's of that period.

Uncool.

Screw it!

I never would vote a ricer candidate as sub zero - except the NSX, 22B.....maybe a TME and the R32 - but now for some reason, I have a sudden urge to.
That shot helps out quite a bit, but I've always found the exhaust pipes striking - and I don't know why - plus I'd mention it to everyone if one of my friends had one - which seals the deal for me - somehow - I dunno :dunce: :boggled:.

S-Z

Women don't want to stand around and talk about cars, period. By that logic, all cars save the New Beetle, Prius, and Miata are Uncool.

Hey! Neat folding roof.

Where are the cupholders?

Is it always this noisy?

You can't be serious. We're not going to do that in here.

I think that's about as far as the talking will go, personally.

Exactly. If I wanted to win in a horsepower per liter argument, I would have bought a Honda S2000 or something like that.

Actually, you may want to look into a 2-stroke race motorcycle instead. close to 100HP out of .25 liters? insane!

Again, apples/oranges.

The girls who I've given a lift to in mine so far have only commented on the noise  (Any girl who bemoans the lack of cupholders in a sports car isn't worth knowing...) Though to be fair, I think the girlfriend would take issue if I asked other girls about doing that in there...

Ah... cultural differences. Starbucks and their tall, taller, tallest sizes and all that... ;)

Sub-zero. Just look at the thing, it's totally badass. Plus it has a "Wankel" under the bonnet, how is that not cool?

I meant mine was the minority opinion.

Seriously though, what is the fascination with rotarys?

If they were anything more than a novelty they would be more widely adopted by both Mazda and, depending on the patent and licensing situation, other manufacturers too.

Just because somethng is different that doesn't necessarily make it better or 'cool'.

Oh, well then either way, I dont think Mazda widely uses them cause of the gas mileage. I whole heartedly think thats the reason, but because its in a sporty car, people care less.
Also when rotarys were really picking up ground many manufacturers DID in have patents on them. However it was also right around the fuel scare and Mazda was the only ones to pursue the development of them. Oh and 100% on you about the different and being cool part, at least we agree on something.

Just come across a document that makes me wish i voted uncool...
