The only reason why I'd say this is uncool is because this generation, correct me if I'm wrong, was the one that featured the absolute blasphemy of putting an RB26DETT in a Mustang in F&F Tokyo Drift.

Yeah, I agree. It was a total blasphemy to put that piece of 🤬 RB26DETT in that Mustang. I don't know what they were thinking. :ouch: 👎

It fit the storyline of the movie.

I also see nothing wrong with putting a Nissan engine in a Mustang, it always bewilders me why people are so dead set against engine swaps.

If some of those people wrote the movie:

A) "Okay, so we have a Mustang and an engine out of a dead Silvia. Since the idea of a Japanese engine in an American car is stupid, it looks like you won't be able to race! Sorry!"

B) "Oh look, I found this Ford 429 crate engine just sitting here in the shop for some reason, let's put it in the Mustang your dad has!"

"Dad, where did you found this engine?!"
"I stole it from a dead Silvia, son."

In case that was directed at me, I was just making a joke. To me, it seemed that he meant it's a blasphemy for the engine to be put in that Mustang. But right now, I believe he meant that it was a blasphemy for the car, like I said in the joke with the purpose to make him explain himself on why would he vote the car uncool (if he voted it uncool because of the first reason, then it's because he doesn't like Mustangs at all, period).

This is Absolute Zero all the way down to its subatomic particles; so much cleaner than the "Phase II" first gens from '67 on. I'll take a 2+2 289 Hi-Po with a four on the floor. đź‘Ť

Agreed. This is one of those cases in which the original can never be beaten. And one of those for me too, preferably in dark metallic blue. Being a GT350 would be an added bonus and a big one at that.

One thing that's always bugged me about this car...Not that I want to change my vote over it...

But the '64's stock hubcaps.

oh...oh my god...it's hideous! even without the clock hands! It's all going out the wrong way and looks like a Devo Member's hat. *shudder*

Okay, I'm done.

So. Where did I actually say the RB26 is a piece of ****? It just doesn't seem right to be putting a Japanese engine in an American muscle car. That's all I'm saying.

I think it was more of just a general statement on my part, sorry for the confusion.

Sub Zero. Can't find a single thing I don't like about it, and I reckon it plays a massive role in the new (and awesome) direction the American auto industry went towards for the next half a decade or so.

Sub-Zero, all American classic. I don't know what Ford is doing to the Mustang now but they had the right ideas in the 60's.

The car is just fine now... They have changed nothing really other then design. I see the new 2010 Mustang almost as much hybrids around here now.. It's insane especially the verts'.

It was cool. Before everyone started trying to make Eleanors out of the fastback.

Of the first gen ponycars, I prefer the Pontiac Firebird.
