GTP Cool Wall: First Gen Acura TSX. Voting Closed

Uncool. Designed to move people, not emotions. It's an Accord outside the US too, and while the Accord is a great car, it just doesn't conjure up images of coolness.

It's also kicked serious ass in Speedworld Challenge racing for a number of years, and is used as a training platform at a variety of high performance driving schools.

Cool. Nowhere near subzero, but cool. If anybody considers this anything like a Lexus ES, they couldn't be farther wrong. Even with an automatic it's a pleasure to drive under any circumstances, and with that wonderful 6-speed MT it is a joy.

Yes, but not necessarily a successful, competitive racecar. And if your track day/school cars are not a good drive, people won't pay to come to your track days and schools, so I would have to assume that there is value in the TSX selection as opposed to something else that would probably be cheaper to purchase.

Nop, I have it in my avatar because I have grown to like the car. As I like the Renault 11. My father had one, and currently owns a Fiesta. It's like when you are in love. In my case, every girl I have loved is beautiful to me, even though people say they aren't. Just like the Fiesta and Renault 11 are cool to me, regardless of what people say.

FWD (hatest the mostest) - 2 against

Honda (likest the mostest) - 2 for

Not an NSX or S2000 - 1 against

= -1 = just uncool? Is it just me, or is your math only 69%?

So you like Honda...but not really? The brand as a whole is FF, so how can you like it if they only have two tiny blips of MR/FR in their lineup in the last 20 years or so?

I said that of all japanese cars, I only like Honda's (which is true, since I only like the S2000 and the NSX). I'm sure it was a gramatical error from my part, so I apologize for any confusions.

There are quite a few awsome FF rides that wear a Honda (Acura) badge in the last 20 years. Just admit you only like RWD and are completely jaded on anything with FWD.

I don't only like RWD, I like AWD too. But FF is something I don't find cool.

Judging a car SOLELY (which is what you have done) on what wheels drive the car is a complete uber fail to the cool wall. What wheels drive the car doesn't have just about anything to do with the car being cool.

I didn't vote solely on the wheels driven. Remember the new Fiat 500? I believe I voted cool or Sub-zero for it, along with the Ford SportKa. We all have our opinions to vote on what's cool or not. I didn't say something stupid about the car like some members do in these walls and start arguing about that.

That's why I had a bit of trouble thinking cool/uncool. I knew about the realtime Acuras, but...I dunno. I couldnt' quite push it past "cool" for some reason.

Perhaps it's because I'd give one serious consideration.

Uncool. I love them, and I'd love to get one and tune it out and make it go fast. But the typical buyers are idiots with pretty hair and Macbook Pros.

EDIT: Joey, yes, the TSX is a very serious performance platform. It's basically a big RSX, which is basically a new Integra, which is basically a fuel-injected 1986 CRX. This, that, and everything is between can all be made to go faster than they ought to be able to go.

But they're still uncool, because the wrong people think they're cool.
