Audi R10 TDI LMP1 - Factory Raced: 2006-2008 (Audi Sport/Audi Sport Team Joest/Audi Sport North America). Privately Raced: 2009- (Team Kolles). - Raced in the European/American Le Mans Series, and Le Mans 24 Hours.
I want to specifically nominate the 2006 version, the first one made. Number #8 car, raced by Audi Sport Team Joest, driven by: Frank Biela, Marco Werner, and Emanuelle Pirro.
Specifications:
Category: Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1)
Engine: 5.5L V12 Twin Turbo TDI (Diesel).
Engine Mounting: Mid engined.
Drivetrain: Rear wheel drive, 6 Speed sequential manual.
Weight: 925Kg (Minimum stablished by A.C.O for 2006 LMP1)
My reason to nominate it:
Its a brilliantly made car. Being honest, it's more than a car, it's an engineering accomplishment. It's the first diesel engined car to beat the worlds most important race and it was designed basically from scratch. It also managed to pull out 14 wins, and to last 3 years in competitive factory racing without many changes which is significant in modern times.
Those were the things i know, for more specs:

Videos:
That one is utterly sublime, i adore it. To me it represents the absolute essence of automotive engineering.
R10 driven by Allan McNish racing a Harrier.
Also, featured in the "Truth in 24" documentary, a very well made video. It can be download for free.
EDIT: Thanks for the heads up LSX and Famine, already corrected the post..
