I voted cool for the looks, if they remove the old Peugeot face and put the new one on (SR1 concept etc) it would be even better.

Had a big long post written up because I think you're dumb, but decided against it. I stand by my "uncool" rating.

The real reason you didn't post it is because you know I'm right ;)

As for the out-Ferrariing thing, the reason that's cool is because you don't need a big, loud, shouty red car to get noticed. The Peugeot stands out on design alone. It doesn't need to be bright red, it doesn't need to be loud, and it doesn't need to be driven at dangerous speeds by a greasy footballer to attract attention.

If it makes you turn your head and your first thought isn't "tosser", then that's a cool car.

But I would call this car's design deliberately trolling for attention, and I don't like that. The car worth my mentioning in the French Cars thread don't necessarily turn heads, but they are beautiful and better looking than others. They're humble. This thing isn't humble. The RCZ was obviously designed to attract attention. You can't drive around in that monstrosity without knowing that everybody within a mile will be staring at the St. Louis arches atop your car.

I'm not so sure. Having seen them on the road, I think they're more subtle than you're making out.

I'm not saying it's a gorgeous looking thing, but it's distinctive and definitely pretty from the right angles. I'd actually liken it to a cute girl walking down the street. A supermodel with her knockers out is the equivalent of a Ferrari - definitely attention-grabbing, but trying way too hard. A pretty girl dressed nicely will still catch your attention, but in a much more subtle and less brash manner. Replace the word "tosser" from my previous comment with "tart" and it's the same comparison.

I do generally agree with your comments about French cars, but as long as you catch this one from the right angle it's definitely a looker but without shouting too loud about it.

Personally, I can't say that I like it's exterior. And yes, I have seen it in the flesh... er... metal. One of the higher ups at the company I'm working at owns one and I still think it's pretty hideous.
To me, it looks completely disproportional and it has that 'cutesy gone badass' wannabe look, if you're asking me, and I don't find that to be very appealing, if at all. I'd take an Audi TT over this... Thing any day of the week. Hell, twice a day. And that's just for the looks.
But, then again, I didn't like lots of cars other people have been raving about, like the Alfa 8C, for example.
Seeing that thing on the road doesn't make me go 'Wow!' like a cool car would. It makes me go 'Why the hell did that guy buy this?!'. You know, it does stand out. Just like your dad does when you're having a party and he's trying to blend in with the crowd.
I guess that pretty much sums up how I feel about the RCZ: It's the cool car's dad who wants to look cool, want to be with the cool guys and gals half his age and looks plain dumb doing so.

Now, what else? It's front wheel driven with a wee engine. Yeah, the last time that was cool was in the original Mini Couper, as far as I am concerned, or maybe the original Golf GTi.

Uncool. The only reason why I'm not voting Seriously Uncool is because there are worse cars than that and I think it'd make a fine car for the missus...

Awww c'mon you're saying that just because you're German, aren't ya? :P

Reading all comments on this thread got me to one conclusion:

This car is admired by a lot of people, and hated by the other half of the lot. This alone makes it a interesting car to remember in the future and in my definition of coolness, a scorer. Performance-wise it won't live to it's flashy looks, that is true, however some cars doesn't need to be fast to be cool. The RCZ is one of these.

Cool and very far from Sub-Zero

I see it as a pretty alternative on a 207.
Not a overpowered, very conceptional race car, this is a little car for someone that wants to stand out against the standard.
Where I do not like all "design" cars, this adds a + to the car park for me so cool.
BTW here I see about 5 a day.

Isn't there a diesel version of this car? Is it faster? But seriously, half of eco-cars' diesel versions are faster these days.

I'd take an MX-5 or a 350/370Z over it as well. Dunno if there are any small American convertibles, though.
Hell, I'd rather get a new Mini Cooper instead!

That one was available here too, as Opel GT, with the 2.0 turbo with 265HP.

Same performance specs, but the opel gt was actually the saturn sky (also gm)

I'm looking at buying one of the two in the upcoming months so I have pics aplenty :)

There is, but it isn't. The top petrol has 200bhp. Not sure what the diesel has, but it isn't 200bhp.
