Who said anything about hating them?

You know this is a "Cool Wall", not a "Like Wall", right?

Let the haters hate smh

I don't hate Ferrari... in fact I'd quite like to own a 430 Scud or a 599HGT... but I just don't think the brand is cool.

I own a Porsche 996 and a Ford Mondeo, neither of which I (or I suspect 'others') think is a 'cool' car either... but I'm not particularly bothered about whether others consider my car is cool or not, only whether it serves the function I bought it for. In that regard, the Porsche ticks the fantastic to drive box, the Mondeo, for it's price, has a good balance of space, comfort, speed and economy, and it's reasonably nice to drive too.

The general public would see a sleeper and not know it's a sleeper and thus think it's not cool.

The general public would also see a Ferrari and think it's cool. They wouldn't have the time to even think about the rich **** behind the wheel.

Nup. 10 year old boys see a Ferrari and think it's cool. The general public don't even see the Ferrari.

I like sleepers and think they're cool, but to know something is a sleeper stops it being a sleeper and that stops it being cool. The general public would see a sleeper and not know it's a sleeper and thus think it's not cool.

This is perfectly understandable, actually. Only those that know it's a sleeper would find it cool, like me.

Personally, I care only what I think of the car, not other's thoughts on it. :D

As far as I know, this is true. It's not my case, as I have explained in other threads (I judge cars individually, the F50 being polled right now is a Ferrari I find seriously uncool). Also, I believe the general public doesn't think a Ferrari is uncool because of the people that (usually) drive them.

If you drive a Ferrari through any town centre in Britain, make sure it's not a convertible one unless you really like spittle shampoo.

I've seen this happen.

I've also seen an Countach driven completely within all known road laws - I heard it coming and said "Oooh, a Countach." when I saw it - and heard the tutting of old ladies and a word which rhymes with "runt" coming out of the mouth of a late-50s guy about five feet away.

The general public don't find status symbols cool. Car enthusiasts might, but to the rest of the world you're just a dick in a flash car.

'Cause old people are cool

Cool, for its redeeming qualities (like not being much like a Volvo on the inside!).

*(though I think the F40 is an exception).

Probably because the F40 was hardly a Ferrari road car... it was more of a racecar than any other modern road-going Ferrari.

Oh, Volvo 850 R? Ugly. Functional. Not too good a handler. Fast as stink.

Sub-zero. I just like it.

Definantly S-Z. This car is a wolf in sheeps clothing, and in Estate form, not a bad looking car, especially with the R rims painted in black with yellow paint. Sleeper Cars are Awesome, like the 850 R Estate. Just look at the 450SEL 6.9, another sleeper car that was the fastest production saloon in its day. and 30 odd years later, it is still astonishingly fast.

The Volvo 850 Wagon has earned cool!

WIKI:

"The 850 Turbo Wagon is one of the fastest production station wagons in the world, capable of 250+ km/h (160+ mph)"
