I put in nearly 200 miles screaming thru the narrow streets of London and you still edged me out by 2 tenths!!!:bowdown:

I think I had reached the limits of my driving skills, so I don't think I could have found another 2 tenths, even with another 200 miles:(:(

I'm with you @GTFireball. Buying this car, that some of my friends have tried & deemed "rubbish", to win a can of paint, is not worth it. Pass on this 1.

Ditto, irrelevant the 2M credits really isn't cash, a full blown waste of credits IMHO 👎. Not interested, nope,, ain't gonna blow credits to BUY it :yuck:,, when we can use the 2M to buy GOOD, drivable cars,, or we can use 'em to get upgrades for other cars we can drive.
Had PD provided the dumb thang ~ yes indeed,, I would have been only too happy to poop away the time to try and learn to drive it,(just as you guys would have). But to fork over the 2M to win whatever and a can 'a paint,, then to simply toss the damn thang in the trash after poop'n away a couple hours trying to get the GOLD,, naw,, don't think so.

Thank you for all this compiling! I've come to really forward to seeing this. It's an inspiration to improve my own skills. I usually get Gold but rarely top 5000.
Anyways, I have a question. To do the percentage calculation you obviously have to know the total number of entrants. How are you finding that out? Are you scrolling that entire table until you get to the bottom? Sheesh, that would take devotion.:bowdown:

I have another PSN that I use to make a verrrry slow lap that gets me on the last page of the results so I only have to scroll a few to see the last number. I thought, based on my performance trying to go fast, that I could be the slowest participant easily but there are others able to run minutes slower than I can. :bowdown:

Thank you, kind sir, for explaining that! For years I've always wanted to know the actual numbers of participants in these events, but NEVER THOUGHT of using a second account. That shows true GEEZER WISDOM! 👍 :lol: :cheers:
 
Ok geezers tomorrow is the big day
Event 1. 15 laps Brands Hatch, very wet, Caterham 7, stock only free tyre choice.
Event 2. Tvr Cerbera, 15 laps, Silverstone National, stock, free tyre choice, dry.
Event 3. 15 laps secret track Caterham 7, dry, stock, free tyre choice.
Event 4. Daihatsu midjet, fully tuned Gran Turismo Arena, Stewyripper, whoosiergirl, oldboy,oldgeezer. sw10 and papagnr
will be going the correct way round trying to beat 20.53 {easy}
now off to paint my midjet pink, sounds a bit rude if you think about it.
Slight possibility zona99 may join us tomorrow, so watch out there may be a hooligan amongst us. :):):)
Don't forget your oil changes, and the room will be open at 1.30 GMT, 0900 Eastern.

OK now that I've distracted everyone with the Auto Union Streamliner, I've got another distraction.

Just for fun; I bet a lot of us Geezers have had an old VW, probably a Type I.

I tried to recreate mine, a Bahama Blue '67. (not my choice of color but it was a good used car deal)
I added:
Wider chrome wheels
1600 dual port engine
Holly Bugspray 2 barrel carb
Extractor exhaust with glasspack muffler
Close ratio transaxle
Big sway bars front and rear
I suspect it was pushing 90 hp and it would run 85+ mph on the flat and level with no wind.

So I tried Arcade Mode, Single player, Single race, Circuito de la Sierra, Difficulty Professional. One lap will be 15 minutes so you probably wont want to try 2 laps.
Comfort Soft tires
Standard transmission to keep the 4 speed
Fully Custom Suspension so I could add sway bars but no other adjustments
All Power mods but no turbo got it to 91 hp and the top speed was 88-89 mph
No ABS or anything

MAN, DID THAT BRING BACK MEMORIES! :)

Seemed very realistic. High speed sweepers were scary. Slipstream anything you can. Down shift to 3rd to climb hills. Yup, that's the way it was.

DO buy this car (but buy the Le Mans version)!!!
It drives like a charm and as an Austrian, I would not want to miss all of my geezer Friends-List blue lines on the Red Bull Ring!
I had a lot of fun with this car/race and will have more of it, since I have to catch up 2,5 seconds to one of my Austrian friends.
So this is definitely worth buying/driving!!!

Prize Money is rather high (I personally don't give a **** for the paints)!
Gold in the 3rd lap.
Praiano has a verygood tune for this car (as has shaumn80), if anybody wishes so, I can post both of them (but not today, as there is Formula 1 on TV and I have loads of other things to also).
AND:
last but not least: this is not a PD Illusion fun car, it exists IRL and participated at the 24 Hours at Le Mans!

All new for me... don't even know what is possible in the online menu's.
