Hi Stewy and other Geezers. Yes there is the filled weekend, but there is also FRIDAY the 3rd (when Brits were still welcome) when us working slobs get a day off. It also affords a chance at meeting with Geezers that don't work. What about a practice session in one of Papa's rooms for the rally time trials. Nothing has to be planned, just show up and run - I'll likely be there at 7:30 - 8 am EST.

P Mallard
Excellent idea, for you uk geezers that is about 12.30/13.00 UK time. I will be there.

Rally event.
The rules are as follows, there are five cars to pick from, when you pick your car that will be the car you use for all events.
you can not change cars during the event so choose wisely.

All events must be completed before the deadline.

All cars can have an oil change and brake balance change if required other than that they can not be tuned. there is also a pp limit, a horse power limit and a weight limit.
The cars are as follows

1 Suzuki SX4 WRC 08

2 SUBARU IMPREZZA WRC 08

3 CITROEN C4 WRC 08

4 FORD FOCUS RS WRC 07/08

5 MITSUBISHI LANCER SUPER RALLY CAR 03

These are the only cars that can be used

Power setting for events are as follows,

PP 499----BHP 335---- WEIGHT 1230 KG.

PapGnr has events open where you can do as many hot laps as you want.

When you come to my room only 1 hotlap is allowed so practice in papas rooms then do your hotlap in mine when you are ready.

All hot laps must be completed by July 10th 13.30

The final event will be held on July 11th during our normal race meeting.

Rooms will be open today at 13.30.
Penalties are on weak so go carefully.

Just like a real rally, you crash you mess your stage time up.

There will be a points system which will mean everyone gets at least two points.
The main bulk of points will be depending on the number of entrants. {as long as i get most}

Hey geezers i will be opening a room at 2pm UK time 9am Est.
The purpose will be to run a touring car short event to try ballast and tyre compounds. This will be run as 3. 10 lap races on Brands Hatch Indy.
The car will be the Audi A4 touring car stock, but power reduced to 350 hp.
Full rules will be explained on the day.:cheers::cheers:

Then after that we can run some of the rally events for those who wish to.

Good morning, Stewy,
I would like to make 3 comments here (if I may):

1.) In the Continental Version of GT6, the power of a car is specified in kW (Kilowatt, no joke, must be due to some of the high inspirations of one of those people in one of these EU-Commissions).
Now when you speak about HP, you most probably mean BHP (Brake Horse Power) which is not easy to convert into kW's.
But thanks to Wikipedia we can learn that 1 bhp = 1,014 DIN-HP= 745,7 W = 0,7457 kW.
So the other way round: 1 kW = 1,34102209 BHP.
So your 350 bhp would relate to exactly 260,994955 kW.
Are there 261 kW allowed or would it mean a breach of the rules?

2.) The 2nd thing that crossed my mind today is the fact, that we all (more or less) make use of the tunes which the unforgettable Great Praiano used to work out for all of us. Unfortunately, for one reason or the other, Praiano was forced to leave this forum (or left it by his own will due to disgust).
But he keeps producing tunes and sends them to selected members of a distribution list in the form of an Excel-file which is very similar to the Android App he used to maintain (but ceased to do so).
Now with PS4 in our Living Rooms and GT7 maybe not too far on the horizon (?), Praiano seems to be in need of a PS4 and a new wheel compatible with PS4 in order to continue to produce tunes for us in the future.
Apparently he is not in the position to afford the necessary equipment for that task, so there was a WebSite called to life to help Praiano to get those 2 necessary items.
So if any of us geezers would donate 10,- or maybe 20,- $, £ or € , that may be shortening the process a good deal.
For any of you geezers who want to donate, here's the page to do so, it is called:
Let's Repay Praiano for all of his hard work!
and can be found here:

http://www.gtworld.ca/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1123

3.) Now the 3rd thing is something you may not like, Stewy, but I find the GTP Geezer Club Forum more or less full of your Saturday Events and orders how and when to participate.
Well, I for myself am not so much in online racing and not at all aiming for your Saturday Events where tons of rules have to be obeyd, training sessions gone through etc. etc.
Don't' you think it would be useful to seperate your Competitions into a seperate thread so the GTP Geezer Club Thread would be more readable and free for those who also would like to discuss other things?
No offence or critics here from my side, just an idea!

Have good races all of you and keep the pedal to the metal!

Placing race events in another thread would mean geezers having to look elsewhere to find the race events. You do not have to read my comments or even race on Saturday's it is your choice.
I think the geezers would like me to carry on as i am, as for being full of my comments it is only because a few make comments, i have the time and like arranging events for the other geezers so comment i will.

It is where we GEEZERS go,, OUR GEEZER thread. Nuff said on that point this GEEZER thinks! :gtpflag:

All you geezers celebrating 4th July tomorrow have a good one.
As for today it seemed to go well, your thoughts please.
There will be a room open tomorrow at the usual time for any who are not celebrating 13.30 UK time 08.30 EST.
:cheers::cheers::cheers:

Sorry to have missed it- was watching F1 practice then hit the road for weekend when that was over. Looking forward to Grand Prix of Britain on Sunday!

Good afternoon geezers, hope you all had a good day yesterday.
An event for Saturday 11th July.
Mini Cooper s 1.3i 98 fully tuned including nitrous, no aero.
Track to be picked by your selves on the day so practice and declare your track on raceday.
This is the day the rally results will be in, and final stage run.:cheers::cheers:

for the las couple of days I've been trying to join PMallard in club events without success. I can go to other rooms, but here is something I noticed..... when I look in the friends feature it shows he is in club events but he has no blue globe. I checked to see if I was registered in that event, which I was. Quit event and rejoined.. still no joy.
I'd appreciated any thoughts
thanks, Les

Morning geezers just a reminder for you the rally events must be completed by Friday13.30 BST 08.30 EST.
Good luck to you all,:cheers::cheers:
Hi Stewy,

I'll do Sierra tonight. Don't know why I put off the hardest to last.

I do have a question. What will determine the last track to be run. Is it going to be drawn from a hat?

P Mallard

What i was going to do is allow all finishers to vote for a track most votes will win.
