I did a 5 Stopper, with my stints bring 3 laps, 4, 4, 4, 3, 3.. Being able to run 4 lap stints gave me the upper hand.
Only person you can blame for that is yourself pj. I must say I'm getting quite sick of your excuses. All season you've said Sarthe will be the day and once again fail to deliver anything spectacular. I actually said before the race "medium tyres, ha". Soft tyres were the way to go. Well they were for me, Paginas and BK. I don't know what miracle tiss pulled out the bag
Well it was my mistake to not have used Softs as well. Ok. But the fact that I qualified 2nd doesn't impress anyone at all? It would've been the day for me, I had the pace to win, but I blew my strategy. There. I blew it. My fault, entirely. But to say that I didn't do well is just not right.

Don't pay attention Peter you are getting better and a lot of us blew the strategy. The number of laps was kind of a clear setup for softs to win though , I will say that much. 21 laps makes no logical sense except that it fits the soft strategy to perfection.
When did I say you hadn't done well? I just said it wasn't as spectacular as you'd hyped it up to be, all season long.
Sorry guys for this season of dsc.
Hope this series goes well.. I'll keep an eye out every now and again. Glad I can still race with a few of the guys on f1 at least!

Edit: and saying that 21 laps fits perfectly for softs is a little late now jake lol

To be honesty, with my strategy I think I could of out paced any medium or hard tired car regardless of distance. But that's the ability to do 4 laps on softs.
I'm sure Bermudakid would be a bit more Bermudakind to you if you didn't say to many silly things, complain, and cause so much havoc in the races.
You've caused this on yourself. I don't think that BK would change his mind now, but I don't want to see you get kicked. The more the merrier, and you're not total rubbish, you'd give everyone else a run for their money at least at Nurburgring.
Bermudakid, how about letting amf stick around on a 2 strike status?
I must say the tyres aren't going to do Season 6 any good. Today kind of confirmed my worst fears. The only on track racing I had was at the start and at the end (and that was only because me and Paginas followed identical strategys) and a very unrealistic 6 stopper. All race was just about strategy and who could save tyres the best. Its no longer about proper racing. I wish to myself it will be a one off but I fear it will be a regular occurance.
I feared this as well the minute I saw the new tyre wear. The days of the best pace winning races is now over. Now it will be about the best strategy, the best tyre management, and especially consistency. I'm sayng it from now, i'm expecting ot strugle come S6. I might be able to get up there in qualifying, maybe, just maybe snag a pole somewhere, but that's about it. I'd fall back in the races again, because my consistency and tyre management is sub par.
harvickfanI had such a big lead on you though, and I could do 21's once some fuel burned off with my soft fronts, rear mediums. Plus had the race been a lap shorter, I could have 3 stopped doing 5 lap stints...... it doesn't matter though, I just messed up too much to have a chance of backing it up.
Yeah, but how fast was your 4th and 5th lap? Sure even mediums, they're nearly as fast as softs, but lap 3 or 4 they're a good deal slower, total time lost is equal to pit stop delta.
Fwiw, my lap times were in the neighborhood of 23,23,25,28 for a 4 lap stints
Oh don't start looking a me about I picked a race distance for softs.....
You guys wanted a1 hour race.
You guys wanted a 2 hour race.
24 laps ..... blah blah
21+1 is 1.5 hours. So shut it. I have never done any practice more than 5 lap online races so I had no idea what works.... I knew I was doing sifts the min I tried meds and they were complete garbage.
And I'm hindsight. Lap less I'm sure the soft guys would have just done 1 stint on Med or stopped 2 laps after the pace.
n0000ooooo i slept thru the whole thing !!!
IMO the new tire wear is good, we had a lot of people finish within seconds of each other. And despite thinking it was all strategy, i raced wheel to wheel with a lot of guys all race. I changed positions all race.
How often did that happen before ? ? ?
I dont think the debate over Med vs Soft is done just yet though.
But i will always run softs, cuz your suppose to drive it like you stole it..........
i know i said i would put up a new thread tonight, but i lied.... im tired and going to be @ 9:09 pm.
Well that race sucked. I was in 2nd in the quali race but binned at the Porsche curves and slipped down to 8th. The start was ok as I stayed with the pack. I soon made a mistake coming up to Tetre Rouge and tried to get back on track but with Jamman right on my a***, he hit me off into the gravel accidently. Made another mistake later on and slipped to 10th. From then on I was all by myself for pretty much the whole race but had minor battles with freshseth and Peter. Got a best lap of 3:21.3 and overtook Jake on the last lap but I'm far from happy. Looking forward to S6 though for sure.
When you came back on to the track on my screen I'd missed you, but when I looked back and saw you in the gravel I assumed you hadn't got there by yourself and lag must have had something to do with it, sorry. There was quite a lot of lag yesterday throughout the race, for me anyway. That's weird but anyway no problem.
@golfer, I said I was in 2nd in the quali race and then made a mistake and started in 8th. Peter was 2nd in qualifying.
