Who's making that game? Looks ok, but you know, if it's too focused on gameplay, the number of cars would be in limited numbers and vice versa.

It's been made by 'Slightly Mad Studios'. Apparently it's a game which almost puts you through a racing drivers career. It allows you to carve out a personalized career starting in the Karting world and then progressing on to whichever motorsport specialization you prefer including Rally, Touring Cars, Open-Wheel, GT, Le Mans, and more. That's going to be a lot of cars to get perfect physics for as they claim to try and do, which is why it's still quite a way off release.

Paginas, as Tom said there's already a beta out for PC. Reports are already good. One guy even reported it to be better than most rFactor mods he's driven.

Slightly Mad Studios is developing it who worked on NFS: Shift/2 and Test Drive: Ferrari. In 2009 they acquired Blimey! Games which included the founder of SimBin, as well as the development team who made GTR, GTR2, and GT Legends.

However even though they know how to make a sim, they've been getting worse since being acquired by Slightly Mad and focused on the wrong aspects of a game.

From what I've heard, C.A.R.S looks absolutely stunning, but only on the highest settings. On the other settings it looks good, but not amazing. They also say that the physics need a lot of work and are just plain wrong at this point.

That's not saying much.

They're possibly around a GT5 level, probably a bit worse. GT5 has too little grip or too much grip depending on circumstances. rFactor has too little grip in low speeds. netKar Pro has the best I've ever tried but you really have to warm up the tires before you start getting any grip whatsoever.

The R18 isn't a licensed car and will likely not be in the final version, and if it is then it would be under a different name with fake liveries.

Yep. After going back and looking at some things, the R18 is called the "Asano LM11 TDX" and have only fake liveries as of current.

Crash physics are pretty funny. And to think people gave GT5 crap about it.

I think if I'm conservative I can do 4 laps. My tires now wear much more evenly too. Most likely due to a few tiny things I changed.

Also Seb, I meant about how people were like "GT5 damage is crap" when it was being shown before release at TGS and other places.

Now the damage isnt great, but you can still knock off a door.

Whoever has the same car as you. There's no team championship though.

Because many fail to attend more than half the races and because many choose to switch car mid-season, leaving the team. I don't mind no team championship, but it's always nice to have a team mate to compare yourself with
