Hey J.R.

I'm not married to the Bob situation. The series has been based on a comprimise that myself, RACECAR, ICallShotgun and Pitwrkz1. As the person who came up with the concept of Bob running is a fairly reasonable person I'm sure he wouldn't mind dropping the Bob idea all together. In a slightly more closer perfect world where Bob wasn't a gimp, and we could have a group of racers that would be willing to run 100% real distance of each race, then I'm sure we'd all be more willing to let ol' Bobby help out.

If you can't find a teammate you'll be running a one car team. However, since there is only 1 or 2 teams available for prototype cars I doubt we'll have a problem filling it up. For the GT cars where there are up to 4 teams per car, you may end up running a one car team.

As far as two cars running the same primary sponsor. If they are teammates then yes, you can. If we run out of primary sponsors in each class just submit an idea for your sponsor and I will most likely approve it.

For drivers still not signed up; I'm going to put up a series entry list showing teams that exist and their cars available. As we grow nearer to a full field of teams it is probably best you check there before posting a team. I'm already late enough for school as is so I'll get that done tonight.

How about a modification of my idea?

If you want to run a team with only one RL driver? then Bob is your partner!

If you want to run in a team with two RL drivers, then Bob gets the sack!
(except for the longer races)

If you want to run as a single RL driver, and use Bob as your second..........

in a short race........
You split the race distance in two, you drive one half and Bob drives the whole of the second half.

In a long race where Bob is needed for the three driver rule to be simulated......

You drive 80% of the first half and Bob drives 20%, the second half Bob has to drive 80% and you drive 20%.

Obviously this is not going to favour the single driver using Bob as a partner (cos he SUCKS!)

But this looks like a TEAM based series, and getting a RL partner shouldn't be a problem.
Committment shouldn't be a problem either, nor should most of us be at all bothered by large lap counts.

Ask for a partner, seek and yea shall find!

Ok Pitwrkz!

We will suck up to the officials!

Change our GT1 sponsors to Sanatogen!:sly:

Neil

PS

@ Delfino

Pitwrkz is after a partner!

And J.R. (Oldphart) would make an admirable partner too! He's VERY reliable, totally committed when he gives his word, and is a really good guy to get to know!

However, you do realise that entering 3 classes means running the same race 3 times each 'race week' in a different car! Maybe a little taming down of your entries would be an idea? And more attractive to a prospective partner?

I think the Drew and I can just about handle two races each, per 'race-week' plus the JGTC and the DTM, but 3 seems a little ambitious!

Neil

I dunno, seems like there are going to be a lot of conflicted interests here..good luck, hopefully it works..

or signle drive could opt. not to use bob and do the whole race themselves since he sucks so that no advantage is given to the two car teams

Ok Balls , i'll lighten the load .. i'm considering joining a team but as i love driving the Nissan .. ill hold out a little while longer , and hope someone joins Oldman Racing .

Problem with your car number Pit. Ballstothewall already has claimed this number. Please check this and get back to me with the corrected number.

Otherwise, to all racers, the series is shaping up well. 4 competitors in P1, only 2 in P2, 4 in GTS, and 7(!) in GT. I'd like to see a couple more competitors in P2 and GTS, but if it can't be helped...

A resolution to the BOB debate will come very soon, so we can get the ball rolling.

if i could be allowed i would like to race all 4 classes but i only have a teamate for P1 and GT2 can i do that and do single car for P2 and GT1?

Definitely. Remember, the number is of TEAMS available for each car. 1x can be a two car team. I had planned to cook up a homestyle entry list tonight but I have so much homework to do (curse you real life!) So, unless one of the boys from G.T.M.S.A wants to do the deed it'll be delayed until at least tommorow morning.

 would've really loved to have run this series.... but

The Bob issue :scared: .... having 0 and I mean 0 points in B-mode, it would be an unfair thing to do to whomever I was partnered with.

I've yet to see a race on the schedule that would cause me to want to give up the seat to and idiot - Bob without any experience - I curse enough at the AI and the TV :sly:

So, since the Bob issue hasn't been solved, and the opening is approaching, I guess I'll have to pass :ouch:

In passing.... Good luck to you all

Me and PitwrkzZ1 are currently discussing about our team. there should be a post about our team later on.

Have you not tried an Uber-save J.R.?

Most have reasonable B-spec points. mine's got 3870, and I have never done a single lap in B-spec.

Hey J.R., I ca send you an uber save if you want, then you'll have every car in most every color, seven commas worth of credits and tons of B-Spec points. Pm me if you want to arrange something.

Hey Andy ... thanks for the offer 👍

Here's my thinking on that .... I was going to go that route, but... there was a call of no "devices" to be used ... I thought that would qualify as such ... and you know me, ... shrug

There's a reason my Bob doesn't have a single point ... I didn't get the game, the wheel nor the cockpit to have the computer do the work. I don't even know how to work the "Bob" aspect of the game.... thus my main concern, as always, is my partner. What is fair to him.

Neil... BTW... had a great idea with submitting aggregate times. Thus finding the "Le Mans" aspect of splitting the driving, holding to the spirit of the series.

I guess it's run the DTM series, wait for the Season 3 of JGTC and maybe go run some WRS's again. Could be worst :)

J.R.

Sorry to hear that J.R.,

Would you want to run as a part timer? That way you could avoid the endurance races and therefore Bob. I don't want someone to go away disgruntled because the series they wanted to run had a stupid rule that kept them out.

J.R.

J.R. mate!

The use of an Uber-save is nowt underhand buddy, it's just the only logical solution to the problem of having to find and buy all the different cars used in the WRS.
It's accepted that 95% of us will use one, for exactly that reason.

It's not cheating, underhand, or frowned upon. Take Andy up on his offer, and come and play!👍

As to how to use Bob, it's easy.
When you go into the pits, there is an option at the bottom of the pit-options board that lets you switch to 'B-spec mode' from 'A-spec mode'.
Then whilst he is racing you can press 'select' (I think) and the display switches to a monitoring screen instead of the live display. In there you can adjust how aggressive he drives, and tell him when to pit.
When he pits the same pit-option board comes up, and you can then switch back to 'A-spec mode' and take over the driving again.

Easy!

Neil

ok, I hear you guys 👍

I just didn't want to cross any lines, you know how I am... shrug
I've asked Andy for the Umber Save, as well as how to get it from here to there.... LOL

I'll try the "Bob" thing, even if it feels like taking a cat out for a walk :sly:
If there's someone willing to take me as a partner, knowing that I've never used "Bob", I'd like to give this series a go 👍

And I'll keep the part-time thing in mind - how would that work ?

J.R.
