Of all the cars I have previously owned and still own the Regal Grand National is my fav! The New EVO is my second fav.

EVO - You rock!;) You owned quite a few badass cars back in the day.
The GN is one of my favorite cars.👍

Thanks Josh, I almost got rid of the Grand National to get the EVO but after much pleading and begging, the wife let me have both! I did have to agree to get her a new Excursion. So as of next week we are probably going to sell the Galant and the Firebird and get her new ride.

I like your wifes car Evo. Nice ride for teenagers too. Lots of mods can be done to it. Congrats on owning a Lancer Evo btw, how much did you end up paying for it?

The register date on those tags put the car as 'imported new.' Unfortunately, they're Washington State tags and he claims to live in North Carolina. Whoever owns that car is damn lucky, though - it's the first R34 year.

What spec is yours? Sounds like you did get a deal - I paid $2000 more and mine's still not the top end Evo.

Still haven't seen a single other Evo on the road.

I thought they weren't 'First in Flight' tags, and was hoping you'd see this thread so you could tell us for sure.:)

I'd say the tags make it registered/purchased either July, August, or September 2000. And, as a bonus, I can tell you they expire in 2002, meaning the picture was probably taken in 2001 when he was 13 and not old enough to drive.

Skeptics win!

That doesn't surprise me, that Doug figured that out by the plates. He once found where I lived by looking at a picture of my mom's car.

Yeah, he's weird like that. Doug has this crazy license plate fetish - ask Concept.

It damn sure isnt the top of the line EVO, They wanted another 4 gran for the all out version with sun roof etc. Couldnt bring myself to pay that much more! However I did splurge and get the carbon fiber wing! Even though I got a good deal on my EVO I think car prices are totally unreal now a days!:banghead:

Dealers will jack up the prices on cars in high demand, like the PT Cruiser or New Beetle (at first). Or the Subaru WRX & Mini Cooper now. Sure, the mfgrs. & local D.A.s' eventually get involved, but it still happens.

How 'bout this, Doug? N.Y. V21-8NN ?

I think you got your tags in 1996 or 1997. They were issued on the old type with the Statue of Liberty, but hopefully you've transferred the number to the blue and white issue considering the Liberty issue was to expire on 30 April 2003 (and, if you live in New York City, you're going to get stopped for running the Libertys now that they're writing tickets for everything they see).

I don't even think it's worth it - mine's just fine as it is, without every possible option. It's got everything I really expected in an Evo, including kick-ass acceleration. :D

When the Honda S2000 came out, there were more than a few reports of dealers trying to sell on-the-lot cars for more than sticker. Don't ask me how...

Late 2001, either Dade or Bay County (most likely Dade). Regardless, the legend "SUNSHINE STATE" is printed at the bottom, rather than the more common county name.

and KY HL958

That's a farm plate, I think - it's the one with the owl and many strange colours on it. Certainly one of the strangest license plates ever issued anywhere. Probably issued in 2002 or early this year, but since it's not the normal issue that's all I can say about it.

:D

Hey Doug, 2 questions;
1. I've seen a trillion Grand Cherokees, what's a tsi & how would I know if I see one?
2. Can you fix my tickets?

The TSi was made in 1997 only (the last year with the old body style). It came in three colours - black, purple, and gold. The only way to differentiate it between other Grand Cherokees from the outside is the wheels and the purple trim...

...otherwise it was the exact same as the '97 Limited but (of course) with a hefty markup. :D

2. Can you fix my tickets?

 - sure, send 'em this way. :D

1. Oh, right. I remember seeing dozens of them in the city. They looked a lot better than yours, though.:P
2. GREAT! The U.P.S. tractor-trailer should get to you in about a week!

Yeah, they're so hard to come by for sale, though.

When they came out, I didn't have the money to get one and now that I do, they mostly look like the one pictured above!

 - sorry if I missed it, but what do you drive? Has to be something quick to fill a UPS tractor-trailer with citations!
