neljackCongrats Owens 👍
Thank you, never expected to be in race for points let alone battling for the Championship at the last race. My home track as well. So it was just epic.
Race review:
My nerves were out of control at start. Knew we had wicked fast set up on the car. One we tuned down so it was better in aero. Having minimal testing under worn tires and drafting we decided to abort our tune that ran 52.3's in free air and add some aero to help stabilize our draft runs. Well race starts all going well for me. Sam(kartman) has trouble and is out. Eric(DraginWhiskey) has some trouble and loses lead pack. Shoot now I'm alone in a crowd of three RAB cars all know that the title is on the line between me and their star driver Rich(MustardAddict). They do a great job keeping Rich out front and in clean air. Had some help from Carbon and Ken(CrazyBasist) keeping up with the RAB crew. They ran us clean and fair. My tires start to wear and this is where I realized we should of went more aero on the car. So I lose the main pack with this issue. Pit stops come up lil earlier then planned. Go in with Carbon and come out alone. From taking 45 liters. Wasn't looking to run out of fuel. So planned 190-200 liters used for race. Anyway. Come out and run alone for a few laps. Hook up with Ganon and we start stomping down. 51's. Eric my teammate slows himself to pit with Ganon and I for second and final time. Come into 3 way hot with bump draft and about lost car. Que to pit. We all swing in. Eric and I take 40 liters and Ganon needed 50. So we was out alone. Teammates hooked up and trucking. Sitting around 4th now with Davey out and Smuffy out. I was secure in my Championship title if Rich wins. With a few to go things got wild. I ended up spinning Eric and we both lost loads of time. Got my car right and tried like heck to keep Ken from catching me and losing the championship. Finally checkered flag and still in 4th. Was a great day all together. Excitement from lap 1 to lap 101.
Also want to take some time to say thanks to Mule for being our Team Owner and putting together a great team.
Like to thank Sam for being in our team and developed a good friendship through our practice.
Last but not least my good friend Eric. I think we tuned at least two hours each week for the races. In that time we found a niche in our tuning and as a team have produced some amazing results. Through this time we become friends. Just want to say that if anyone looking to hire me. You have to hire Eric and I. That guy is my teammate and when you get a person that you can simply be yourself and produce great results. Have fun. Laugh. It is what made this season the most enjoyable season I've had. Thank you Eric. Look forward to many more races as your teammate.
In closing thank you all who raced. With our you guys this wouldn't be nearly as exciting of a series. Great group of clean racers.
