Sorry for the misunderstanding. I used the word private lobbies but I meant the "my lounge" option which opens a room exclusively for people on your friends list and, I think, their friends as well.

I'm ok with not using mics during the race to reduce lag, the lag at Trial Mountain for the practice race was tough to deal with the first few laps since we had a pretty full race. Another league I race with uses Teamspeak to communicate while racing so they don't use up any bandwidth when we are on track. I'm not a mic user (as of yet) so it's up to you dudes what you want to do.

Also it looks like I may be able to sneak on a little earlier, my wife is going to handle story time tonight. I'll still be on around 7:00ish, so I will be jumping into qualifying with cold feet.

Be safe and good luck tonight guys!

I'm ok with not using mics. I only have the controller to use for typing though. Usually I have my netbook right next to me, so we can communicate on here as well.

As far as I understand... only YOUR friends can join your lounge. If their friends want to join, they have to add you. I'm not 100% on that though.

The forum does have a built in chat right?

Anyone that is not part of the Spec Miata group that enters the room, kindly ask them to leave. If they refuse, make them. :)

great first race, B-team. And to think I really almost forgot about this until 2pm lol. Knew there was something I had to do today. Blame it on the a-a-a-a-alcohol.

You top 2 guys were insanely fast. Not sure what I did wrong in the tuning. Anyways, good game.

Fun racing all! We had some "lols" for the first 10 laps until I caught a spin while in second and, I think, caused nethereal to spin too since he was probably running the same line I was. That draft into the first corner is serious.

Also my tires were toast by the end of the session with others reporting that they had 1/4-1/2. Something was done wrong on my part, for sure.

Great experience racing, I didn't do much prep but had a blast. Got 2nd in group B, I had nothing for the first placer Brosi.

Great Stuff, thanks guys for the race

Good race group B! Felt pretty secure in 2nd at lap 26.. Then my daughter shut off tv! Fell to 4th, then at lap 36.. Again!! Fought back to 3rd for the finish. Great fun none the less!

Just noticed my "40 minute race" was actually 39 minutes and 50 seconds.

I'd say we got pretty close...

Awesome racing guys. Loved every minute. We had some intense clashes and the feeling of watching the fight for the top three was just epic. I only saw Turbo, Sam and SpecM duke it out for about ten laps then me Egg and Sonic formed a tight middle pack then it was just me and Egg gunning for fifth. I had a bit of touble in the middle of the race 'cause Iwasn't confident in my tire degredation so I played it a little too easy (result of my lack of well rounded preperation) so I sat in sixth for the last half of the race while I watched Egg pull away.

I had a couple moments where I put a tire in the grass and unsettled the car so that eliminated me having any chance of catching onto Egg's draft. I saw that Egg was able to get around Dr Wankel in the last few laps but I didn't expect to be able to catch the Doc for 5th. He explained later that his tires had just died so he was far behind pace and I caught him in lap 38 to get 5th.

Congrats to everyone on a good race. I'm gonna try to upload the entire replay from a few different perspectives later tonight with my camera phone on youtube. Better than nothing.

But otherwise, no lag no incidents pretty much all clear racing. I had a make it or break it moment right in the first lap though when El-Zissou spun out in the first turn amongst the pack. I narrowly avoided getting clipped him. It was funny too 'cause if you look at the replay I didn't really react to him spinning out in front of me. I kind of just held my breath and did a little prayer and saw his front spoiler pop up super close in my side mirror.

It was grand, can't wait for more.

Guys were talking about experimenting with alternative hosting methods, maybe we can run like an official practice meet every Thursday @ regular race time? Since that would seem to be a good way of optimizing the series and getting used to eachother's racing even more.

Great race evryone. i hope we hadnt had some accidents but thats motorsports. I am looking forward for the next race! and i hope i ll go better next time:)

Man tonight was fun, despite spinning in the first turn twice. The first time, I was fortunate enough to have Vanos right next to me to catch me and keep me from going around, but the second time Rave2Grave wasn't so close so I went right on around. So I spent the rest of the race in 8th place. I had a great time though.

Sounds like you guys had some great fun, I would have entered this championship myself but am away on the 9th for 10 days. Please get the replay up.

Yeah, I spun several times on cold tires so I ended up a lap down behind our winner. I guess I got a chance to pass Coco to get my lap back during one of his blackouts, but I couldn't catch up enough to get back on the lead lap.

I don't know where you guys find the grip to turn in such great laps. I was running right about 1:00.mid consistently away from traffic, but I felt on edge in most turns, particularly the first and last. I'm impressed with the speed even in the B group.

Yeah! lol I was severely understeering for the latter half of the race. I remember Brosifduder was asking if I started messing up or conserving tires since he'd consistently put a large amount of distance away from me.

This whole tire management thing is new to me since I've never done wheel to wheel before so I'm pretty sure it was my lack of skill that led to that situation. 👍

Alright guys, here we go.

Thanks to everyone that participated tonight. We had a couple show up late, but everyone that said they would be at the first race did eventually show. Each room had about 4-6 positions open, so tomorrow night I will post a second qualifier to get some additional drivers in here. I'll split them into the appropriate groups depending on their qualifying time.

Here are the results for each group. I will be updating the points positions in a bit. I forgot to write down the split times for Group A, so I'm posting without for the time being.

Group A Results
  • R1600Turbo
  • silvermiata
  • SAMHAIN85
  • Egghead43
  • Wardez
  • the stig14
  • EL_ZISSOU
  • GrahamTurismo
  • AlGreene71
  • Sonic-_-89b
  • Dr Wankel
  • tt997

Group B Results
  • iamjamen
  • vanos2990
  • LVSX4MZ3
  • fitftw
  • Nethereal
  • filphil98
  • motortrend
  • Jay_B_II
  • Duke
  • apradel

Driver of the race award for Group A goes out to EL_ZISSOU. He spun on in the first turn on lap one, pitted during the race, and still came out with a 7th place finish.

I think one lesson some of us learned after race one, conserve your tires! I know many people were sliding all over the place at the end and were struggling to hold onto their positions. My setup wasn't so fast at the start, but it started coming in around lap 25 and I could continue my pace until the end of the race, finishing with over half my tires left.

Practice rooms can be set up as normal during the week.

Next race: Nurburgring GP/D with required pit stops! :)

I don't usually double post, but I don't want this to get lost. A few things:

1) Drivers that did not show for race one will be give a chance to participate in race two. If you do not confirm your attendance for race two by Saturday, January 8th, you will likely be dropped from the series. Plenty of people would like to take your place.

2) Our next race we will be using Mics. This will be a test to see how my connection deals with everything. Brosif (iamjamin) ran Group B with Mics and didn't have any issues, so we'll have to see on this one.

3) When I remember it....
