You going on tonight Brosifduder?

I am going to open a room at Cape Ring Inside in about 30 minutes. I'll update with a room number in a bit so all you thread lurkers should get a Spec Miata together and stop sitting on the sidelines.

Room is up:

I'm in for season 2. I FINALLY got internet, though my PS3 broke about a week ago :ouch:
I'm taking it to get fixed tommorrow so I should be up with a new PS3 in less than a month and I hopefully did not lose any data

I just thought of something. We all used and abused our little MX5s so much. How many miles has every one put on your cars?

I was doing an oil change and just thought to look at the Miata I used since the first pre-races. Mind you, I never B-Spec'd it or anything so the mileage is all me.

This could be a cool indicator of who put the most time into the series with practice and all that.

I couldn't believe, looking at the 700 miles I've already put on my IS-F, how low it seemed to be for me. My Miata's only at 618 miles.
Now I'm curious to see what the other dedicated guys of the series have put down so far. I'm sure I'm toward the bottom in total distance.

I'm not taking any signups for season 2 yet. I'll start a new thread once I get everything sorted.

Will you post a link in this thread when you do? I'm very interested in season 2 so I just subscribed to this thread but I might not see the new one otherwise.

@ Wardez: 1,544 miles

Yeah, I'll like to the new one once it's up.

I totally would be but I've got work. I'm off early like at 12 EST tomorrow so if you're on late we could get some runs in. This whole "working nights" thing really doesn't vibe with the GTP.

Unfortunately, midnight is my bedtime. I guess I'll keep at this Seb Vettel Challenge.

Oh and my sled has 1,483.5 BrosifDuder driven miles on the odo. I have 788 miles on the Spec Miata I used for preseason testing but I think there was a B-Spec race somewhere in that total.

Waiting... got my car all prepared... :)

Season start is not going to take place until after GT Academy, and more than likely sometime next month. I know you guys are itching to race. :)

Yeah it might take a while. But if anyone wants to get to used to racing with some of the Spec Miata regulars there's the Lexus Is-F cup that RT started and I'm running.

Still lots of fun and competitive. Good way to keep racing in SM's downtime.

I did mess around with specing a car out for next season last night though. Unfortunately adding drivetrain parts does not add PP points. :(

I have been having fun purchasing every NA and NB Miata/MX-5/Roadster I have seen in the UCD and modifying each to a similar build-out as our Season 1 formula. I have, of course, changed to fixed suspension and Sport Mediums to reflect the anticipated Season 2 changes, but it is pretty interesting to see the different results when you adhere to the 389 PP limit.

I am going to keep a database and start logging laps at various tracks with my different Spec Miata iterations to really compare which models are competitive with one another. ...Just when my girlfriend thought I would start to lose interest in GT5.

I'm going to open a room tonight for Spec Miata use if anyone is interested. Probably around 9pm EST.

That sounds pretty tasty. I am just getting back from the airport and I could use me some spirited driving after the clusterfuk I had to deal with on the e-way.

You ready to do this soon?

It was fun last night gents.

Jam - idk why I couldn't see ANY of your smoke but I could see what turbo was making? Do you think it has anything to do with it being his lounge?

Just began breaking in my Spec Miata this afternoon on the Nurburgring Grandprixschlief. :D I kept the settings pretty much stock so that I can get a feel of what this car can do. ;)

That might be it but I am not positive. It is definitely odd that you could see his and not mine. Not a big deal though.

Coma, You were running some pretty quick lap times despite being MIA for so long. Hopefully you will be able to run Season 2 in its entirety.

I definitely liked the Eifel Kart track from last night, Turbo. You should still think about using it for Season 2 despite its lack of a pit lane facility. Tires seemed to be lasting long enough that we would not need to make a pitstop even if we ran a 30 lap ~ 40 minute race. The only odd this I noticed was that the timing and scoring stripe was not actually at the start/finish line. On all of my laps the timer started a good 25 - 50 feet before the line.

It's a fun little $hit. Add my PSN tag and we can run some practice laps together.

I noticed that the timing was not in sync with the finish line as well. It was semi convenient though because the starting line itself isn't too far away from turn one so knowing the last lap time I had a little sooner was nice.

I'm hoping to run for the rest of the season as well. I really like the feel of the fixed suspension set up over the custom mess I had last season.

Considering how well y'all did on GT Academy it's nice to see how I can compare with those results. I'm still not as consistent as I'd like to be though as I'm quickly running out of talent and hurdling myself into a wall more often than I'd like. Turbo and Jay saw my SM after about 15 or so laps...:scared:

Fixed. :D

Also, request sent. ;)

Considering you're a YOKO fan as well, add me too. 👍

im interested in this league, since i need the practice for spec miata with Nasa (real life). When do you guys run?

Right now, being the off-season, we run practice/testing sessions whenever someone feels like opening a room. The OP has advanced to the final round of GT Academy and does not want to start Season 2 until after its completion.

During Season 1 we raced ~40 minute races on Sunday evenings, typically around 7:00 PM EST, with a practice/qualifying session opening an hour before the race.

The Season 2 rulebook is still in the works as we are making some changes to the Season 1 formula to take some of the tuning aspect out, putting a larger emphasis on driver ability. We may also be expanding the model roster but we still need to test the various models of Miatas available in GT5 to see what is doable.

However, you are more than welcome to purchase an '89 or '91 Eunos Roadster (Premium) and start the engine break-in process so you are ready to launch when Season 2 gets rolling.
