I'm thinking about entering the Stance Comp. ;)

Though I'm not too sure if I can make it in time, since my vacation just ended recently. :(

Well..this is going to be an awesome competition ..and the 1st stance comp that I don't enter..(no photo shop).. Looking forward to seeing all of the entries

Ziggy Have you tried using GIMP? It's a really good alternative to Photoshop, and you would probably be surprised to find out many people here use it.

I would say I have GIMP 2.0 .. but I am sooo unlearned on all it has to offer that I wouldn't know where to begin on trying to make edits on stance like everyone else

I'm trying to work on my entry comp, but you've taken the GT86 shot at such a weird angle it's hard to try and put something together. :ouch::indiff:

I'm sure I'll get there in the end, but I've been working on this for about 4 hours now and haven't really made any progress.

Well since you already have it, you should search the interwebs for a few tutorials to get yourself started, or you could go with GT-R's suggestion and get Photoshop CS2 (I didn't know they offered it for free now, that's great 👍). Either way tutorials are a good way to get familiar with the UI.

I posted this 6 hours ago. I can tell you, I'm tired, and I've sat up most of the night trying to do custom bumpers and things. I just couldn't get things to line up and because the car is in such an awkward angle, it's really hard to make donor images work. The only thing I could do was get a decent offset and it wasn't even that great.

Safe to say, people will have a hard time with that. I can usually knock-out renders in 5-6 hours, but I'm struggling with this. :indiff:

I'll give the EK shot a go later. I'm bed-bound for now.

I'm sure that Jack would be able to extend the deadline for those of you who need more time. With more time to work on the edit, the quality of the entries might improve, after all. 👍

At the end of the day as a community, your allowed to ask me to extend the deadline, as long as others agree aswell.
Also, finding dona pictures can be tricky, If you're not having much luck with google, try other search engines and sites. Tumblr is a good one too! Hehe good luck! :D

Yeah I've using a lot of different places, but I do a lot of brush work, and use the donor images as templates or references, but because the rear of the car is at a much more obtuse angles than these donor images, it's hard to get anything to work.

I'm used to having the rear of the car more acute and verticle.

Okay, I see exactly what you mean here, I tried to make it a little harder to shop since the angle isn't really an angle photographers use to show off the stance in a car. It's the 1st comp of this type and I guess it was just abit of a test. I agree, it would've been alot easier if It was a head-on shot. :P

It's cool, I've figured out a way to get some donor images on it. I just hope the execution is better than what I'm thinking, lol.

Anyone want to give feedback on my pictures?

The thing that jumps out to me is your crops, watch your crops, they can make or break a shot. Try not to crop off parts of the car. I would rework that chase shot because that has the premise to be pretty sweet.

I feel BkS' pain.

It just started going downhill so I went balls to the walls and did everything.

That Civic is pure rice. XD

FINAL ENTRY

As a sidenote, Blitz perhaps you should start the competition thread in the comp section, that way it keeps this thread free of any entries and also makes finding entries easier.
