Damage off is probably a good idea, but I would let collisions turned on. That way it will still make people try to avoid contact.
Flags on limited would probably be good idea too. Off would be better, but the only problem with that is, it doesnt warn you when someone is off or spun in front of you. Plus it allows for cutting the chicanes with them off. If the flags are on full, then it can become a nightmare with people getting disqualified in the TT. I have seen it done even for spinning out, and going through a chicane while wrecking. It will DQ you for that, and not allow you to race. Same thing happens in the race. With them on limited, its still pretty strict, but a little more lenient and will only issue a warning and not allow that lap time, or it will issue a 5 place grid penalty but not DQ and kick you out of that race. During the race, it gives a 5 or 10 second penalty depending on how bad the infraction was.
Very FUN game online, there is a ton of different things you can set up.
Thankzz again Boss, So now that its looking like your our environment knowledge base can you suggest a fun setup for our first race like maybe damage off, etc . Thankzzz
I was kind of thinking that since the whole race is theme based around the Suzuka weekend maybe an hour after qualifying ends on Sat. The race is showing 14:00 but I don't know if that is GMT, can someone figure out the time it is in GMT, that would be cool.
Ya flags are ridiculous. Believe it or not I think some people who make custom GPs online use them to cheat, I was racing 4 others on Brahrain, guy who had teh pole spun out and bc we passed him it gave us all 15 sec penalties, by the 3rd lap we were all pretty neck and neck, but bc he gain those 10 secs he won over all of us -_- It was fisshy bc no one cause him to spin, which I dont get why e'd be penalized for that either
Oh yeah the real race is really early here. I could probably do the old shift time slot lefty. I'd say that would be an ideal time for USA and Europe. I might be able to go an hour or two later than that on full race distance if your up for it. Sorry for earlier by the way.
Ya flags are ridiculous.
Seen similar stuff happen too. Last night was in a private room with friends, one guy wrecked, I was following another through the sector, he spun but stayed on track just sitting sideways. I went past him and of course advanced my position and I got a 10 second penalty for overtaking under local yellow.
If we did an hour an after qualifying finished, we'd be online at 0700GMT, I'm happy with that.
Do we have any Aussies racing with us?
If the US guys would prefer different time, I suggest something like 1700GMT?
Yep 7pm worked well. 8pm is probably better for some though. I'm not fussed.
Hi guys
Since I havnt raced any of you before (beside Bullie)i'll send some friend invite when I get home. And start practice on suzuka.8pm saturday 02-10 is ok by me.
Im up for this.
Everyone feel free to add me: GTP_DOUQA
Sorry for not being clear on that.Cant make it this saturday, but will be there next weekend. So your good for a practice at Suzuka this Sat. at 20:00 GMT?[/
I'm a wheel user and 8pm euro time is around 6am my time (+10GMT) as long as it's not too to early. I'll still do it. Just make sure the time is set so I know when to wake up lol .
What race length? full please.
Perhaps we should arrange the different groups into different time zones.
I think "Boss" agrees with grafpt that flags are bogus.
I put flags in thinking that they were logical to penalize cheating but if they can be abused and used as a sucker punch then they sound bogus and I dont think they work to better the experience.
In a private room with friends, I think there fine as no one will be looking to exploit it. But in public rooms they can be exploited. Flags on limited IMO is the way to go, it still warns you of accidents ahead, and will give time penalties or warnings for cutting chicanes. Also if you do a illegal block or drive erratic it will warn you.
I would sooner run Monaco than Shanghai, just something about Shanghai I just cant put together.
I totally understand the evil of a walled in track and the freedom of a track w/ run off, Shanghi is one of those weird tracks that slaps you up side the face and never lets you get comfortable.
I am actually a idiot, I meant Singapore above, not Shanghai. I actually really like Shanghai, even though T11 T12 entry to T13 gives me fits. Quite a difference in lap times depending on how you get through that section.
