You aren't getting off that easy.

the championship...?

Had a full canteen of people at work laughing and joking to xmas songs, there's me in the corner, with my headphones on.... I only started here around 4 months ago, they must think I'm well antisocial.

It's the first anniversary of my last taste of Wham! & I reckon today could be the most dangerous day of the year.
I'll be out of work earlier than normal tonight, at around 1945. Last year I went home but was Whammed on the way. This year, as is more normal, I'll almost certainly go to the pubs. If I do, I'll have to have some defence strategies in place. :odd:
I've already tipped bar staff, door staff & landladies this year but DJ's are a different breed. If I see any of them I'll be heading for the hills.

Today is the most dangerous day for me as well. Why? Because I'm meeting up with a friend who's out to get me (not sure how he found out). So if I don't gain control of the radio at his house, I'm done for.

If he's out to get you & you're still meeting up with him, you're pretty much signing your own Wham! warrant.

I won't go as far as to avoid meeting friends in order not to get Whammed. Bottom line, social life and friendship is more important than dodging Wham! :)

@Daniel

Whammed thrice before Christmas has even arrived. The first time by @Luke's signature, the second time by @Jordan (still find it a bit nasty) and his AUP violation conversation, and the third time by the radio channel that my mother usually listens to this morning while I'm still sleeping. It appears that George haunts you even in your dreams...

(Okay, I may have smiled at Jordan's attempt. But still, a rather bad move to me.)

Christmas morning is going to be dangerous. My family usually listens to custom christmas cd's when we open presents, and my dad cant remember if Last Christmas in on them.

Somehow I've survived Christmas eve radio to and from work plus Christmas music at work since 8 this morning.

I got whammed last night at a biker bar. I couldn't believe that.

Wham count 2

I think I have been whammed at least 50 times by now. It doesn't matter which shop I walk into this year, Wham is playing.

Is it some kind of celebratory year or something?

Something went wrong.

There hasn't been much model railroading posts in here thus far. Here's one to help change that a bit. Though it's kinda late, I haven't put my Christmas train up yet. I'm letting you guys decide for me. Vote for what option you like best; the number for each option is in the top left corner of each photo. :)

EDIT: Voting closed a good while ago.

Something went wrong. :irked:

I don't feel very well. Pukish.

I think I contracted . . .

I can't believe I haven't been Whammed, even though I went shopping yesterday. They were playing the traditional music there thank goodness.

I've been whamed about 5 times thanks to my bus driver. Graduating soon so next year I'll probably have a better chance.

Hard drive in ny desktop died, so I've got no real way for someone else to Wham me since my laptop isn't working, either.

Don't have any money to fix either of them on top of that. If I ever wanted anything for Christmas, it's money... I seriously would rather be Whammed on a working computer than be stuck without a working computer and no chance of Wham.

Exactly a year since my last Whamming, pretty much to the minute, it happened again.
We needed somewhere quiet & relaxing after the loudness & drudgery of all the things that go on at work.
One of the pubs looked surprisingly quiet for Christmas Eve so we jumped in there. As soon as we opened the door, 🤬.
The rest of the playlist had some decent stuff but it did repeat a few times.
In the next 3 hours, 3 more 🤬.
Quadruple whammy!

As bad as it was, it was worth it to avoid anywhere busy until late doors when we'd already had a few jars & decided we could brave the crowds a bit more.

@Daniel, I'm out.

Here's an obvious lesson you should really learn if you haven't yet: while it's risky to tell anyone you're participating on GTP, you should never, ever, EVER tell your real life friends about this competition.

I just received a message from a friend I haven't seen in a while from Snapchat and it was just him smiling with the music video playing in the background.

So... I probably shouldn't ever enter this competition again. Because I'm doomed to fail every single time.

Bah bloody humbug. :grumpy:

Surprisingly I'm still in. I think I've survived the hard part and I find it unlikely that any shops will be playing the song after Sunday or so. Fingers crossed...
