Hi guys sorry I had to pull out of the long race, got disconnected just before the race (as the names were being called) and in the rush to get back in I ended up on S1 tyres (didn't see an option to change them either?), pitted after a few laps when I realised it wasn't the network playing up and something also went wrong in the pits, lost about a minute!

Drove the nuts off the thing trying to keep up again but would have needed another pitstop and this racing is way too close to be able to get anywhere pitting twice.

Tried to write this on the room chat thing but it came up as a load of "xxxxx" lol, so sorry if anyone interpreted that badly.

Gutted as I really enjoyed race one and even came 2nd, will definately have to do this again soon.

One question though, in the first race the room setting only allowed S3 tyres, in the second race this wasn't switched on and would have helped me out no end if it had of been!

Night all

Dave

There are more of those now then ever. I got DC'd myself I think... it was at the exact moment I left the pits before the sprint race... I went from the pits right out of the lounge... Could have hit "o" twice so maybe my fault, but I didn't get a confirmation screen.

Made a few bobbles as host today and cost some time. This bracket system is very complicated and takes a bit too much work for a mid day like this when I'm trying to squeeze in a race during lunch. Especially with last minute cancels and changes which are to be expected.

We may run the bracket system now and then for special events, but if we regularly have 16+ drivers I think we'll just split down the middle by handicap alone and have two normal full length races with online qualification and keep it simple, timely and automated (as long as everyone uses the form to submit/change/cancel).

Hopefully the next update brings with it the possibility to actually run 16 in a lounge with some race quality.

For tonight we are going to continue with the sprint/feature unless last minute cancels bring us down to 14 drivers at which time we're going to revert to a single lounge/race (48 laps).

That's too bad you had those problems Dave.
We had a few pit bugs in our second race as well, but not that bad.

With respect to tire choice / availability, the room can only be set to restrict tire selection, but not eliminate choices.
So if the room is set to Sport Soft - those tires are the best tires you can select.
It does not prevent you from selecting tires that will make you slower though, so it's very important to check your race options before entering the track.

See you again next time 👍
Edit: you can't type "pit, or pitstop" in the GT5 chat. It's too close to 🤬 for the PSN ;)
You also can't type "Tsukuba" It's a picky system.

By the way... Congratz to Wes for the overall win in Feature A and the win in Sprint A. Clean sweep this week with your overall win the the time trial as well... Congratz to Chuk for the win in Feature B! 👍

Full results for Feature B will be up shortly.

I was really hoping we could test on this online issue tonight, but I guess we know what would happen.
I happen to have a possible solution in mind, but I have to first confirm I can replicate the issue now, then see if my idea eliminates/helps with the issue.

Any way I can convince the whole group of 16 to hop in and run a 5 lap mock race about 30 minutes before race time?

Maybe you'd have better luck *after* our races. Maybe only 13-14 will be around, but more likely to get them. I'd love to do a full 16 car grid instead of brackets, but we can't risk it until the update.

Either should work, I just need to replicate the issue, to be certain I have it, and it wasn't just a room issue the few times I've had it.

I can stick around after the feature race for a bit, but with the two lobbies having to be set up I don't think we can pull off the test before... too much to coordinate as it is.

Here are the full results of Feature B. (Thanks Lucas):

That's right, over in Feature B we all decided to finish in the exact same positions we started in. :dunce: But that doesn't mean we let Chuk lead the whole way! :sly:

Congrats Wes and Chuk, what a fun day of racing it's been so far, can't wait for NA. 👍

And thank YOU, Tim, the whole move to the Google database thing is super slick.

GTP_3D3Racing lounge is open for practice. I'm away for a bit, but the lounge is open for customers. Why don't we all just practice in this lounge and then about 5 before the event Hydro can run over and set up GTP_3D3_B and a few minutes later the guys destined for that lounge can head over too. I don't think there is any lag in practice mode and that way we can keep coordinated before the event.

Sound like a plan?

Cool 👍

I'll be in in a minute.

I'll be coming in at the last minute, have some stuff that's come up.

EDIT: I'll be directly joining feature race B as I can't make it at 10.

Watching :D

EDIT: watched from lap 9 onwards. Great race, had a blast watching it 👍 Great battle with Kev and then an equally great battle with Marc. I don't understand why Lucas lost three places in the pits, or why Chuk was last, but no doubt it will all be explained soon.

Many thanks for streaming Christophe, highly entertaining

I can tell that I was last because I wiped out by myself, and then had to wait. Still, I had a great time racing!!

Dom and a few others explained that if you enter the pits too fast, you'll get a penalty...a secret penalty that only your pit crew knows about, apparently. And I don't pay my pit crew enough, so they don't inform me of anything. I depend on my fellow competitors to inform me of these things. :dunce: Really annoying, happened in both races, but sure enough, I blasted into the pits full speed both times. :ouch:

Congrats Jake 👍 Nice to finally meet you (and get beat by your crazy fast consistency). Another fun race, and as always, "educational".

Thanks Marc and Tim for all the organizing and hosting!

Sorry for not mentioning the pit penalties, completely skipped my mind until we were racing. :dunce:
But I'm sure we'll be looking for pit penalties on future combos, so good has come from it.👍

So I think the test went very well, I found it very interesting, will be posting my findings in that thread over in GT5 forum in a minute. Thanks to all who helped, even if there's nothing we can do about it.

Thanks for the kind words, it was very well organized and I had a great time. I look forward to running this series again. 👍

Now where is the mystery car with air brakes?

Congratz Jake. Would have loved to be in Feature A as our total times were quite close. The hosting was a *lot* smoother tonight with the brackets. I caused a few glitches in the EU brackets I hosted, but the guys were very understanding a patient. It helped that we could all congregate in one lounge for practice before hand.

Anyway here are the final results from the NA races. We still need to update a few stats from the Sprint B race, but Marc or Lucas will have to do it as I don't have the replay.

It took me a while to find it but I did. Mitsubishi HSR-II Concept '89

Wow I would have never guessed, I figured it would be one of the older cars from the 60's :dopey:

This has been a great experience to run with all the GTP guys. Thanks for taking the time to put all the thought and effort into it.

Although you beat the crap out of us :P, it was a pleasure to have you and I hope we'll be seeing you on a weekly basis as of now. :) :gtpflag:

Always good to see newcomers too. 👍
Check out how close our fast laps were. Of course, that's my only bragging right of the night, job well done on the win.

And Tim of course, seemed like a flawless race you ran from my perspective, every time I made a mistake, you pulled away, never had any big tains to tell you goofed at all, if you did. Very good race.👍

Thanks Dom... I was watching the splits carefully fully expecting you to eventually get into my slip stream at which point it would have been lights out.

Running both EU and NA races in one day really helps with consistency and knowing there is a really fast guy behind hunting you helps with concentration.

Good show tonight guys... Always fun.
