We have the support races on Saturday too. Since it's your first time racing with us it's *highly* encouraged to take part in at least one race on Saturday. It will help if there are any questions, network issues, etc. or just to get to know your competitors and what to expect from them.

See the 4th post in this thread to sign up. đź‘Ť If you can't make it please show up as early as possible to the enduro. Lounges will be open about an hour before the race.

Now that you are all set up feel free to join our Wednesday races as well.

Ok, I signed up for race #2 on Saturday. Should be an exciting weekend.
As far as Wednesday goes, the more races the better I say. :D

FYI, on Wednesdays we typically run the car/track that was used for the offline WRS time trial the week prior. So for example this week we are running an online adaptation of "Benz-(B)east".

GTP_WRS Time Trial: GTP_WRS (GT5) Week 62 : Benz - (B)east

GTP_WRS Online Event: GTP WRS-Online : Event 33 : Benz (B)east - Apr 25

And I agree... the more the better! Proof of this is our event history. I'm tie for the lead in participation with Hydro at 55 races run. Wes (w-g-e) is currently leading in wins, but T-L (one of our our resident aliens) has his sights set on that title.

anyone from the northeast available to let me qualify in the GT series...got the car finally broken in

I'll be waiting for you in GTP_3D3_B, GTP_GT54life247.

Did GTP_GT54life247 ever qualify? Deadline is still a few days away for GT, but just checking as I have not had any quali times sent to me for this driver.

No sorry, I forgot to mention. Stayed in the room for 2:30 hours but he didn't show up. I had some practise with Pekka though

Thanks Wes. Sorry if you wasted your time and hopefully the practice with Pekka was useful.

Ready to qualify in ten minutes or so. I'll be in the 3D3_B lounge.

I can't be online for another two hours.

I might be available before then, but not yet. I'll edit in with a time window if I can.

Edit: available now, but only for 40min or so. You might want to take your time and wait for Tim.

Announcement:

We've done the calculations and have the lap counts for the Saturday support races. The lounges will be set to 37 laps which includes 2 formation laps for the GT class and 1 formation for the LMP class.

In other words there will be 35 race laps for GT and 36 race laps for LMP. Just like at Spa, the LMP class will pull over at the start and let the GT cars lap them during their first formation lap and then let the GT cars get ahead on the 2nd formation lap (first formation lap for LMP). The GT cars will initiate their rolling start after their 2nd formation lap. The LMP pole sitter will manage the gap so that the GT cars are about at the Corkskrew of their first race lap (lap 3) before the LMP class initiates their rolling start at the start/finish line. For the Saturday races I will be on pole for LMP since Wardez is only racing on Sunday which should make things fairly simple. :dopey: If you are not on pole for either class your primary responsibility it to know who is directly in front of you and stay in tight formation during the formation laps. If you are on pole you have extra responsibilities and be sure to read the full start procedures.

The required driver change ("pit pause") for the two classes will be 30 seconds for GT and 60 second for LMP and must take place during the first pit stop. If you forget to do your driver change or if you cut the pause short you will get a double time penalty add to your finish time and lose any positions as a result. See the OP for a full description of the pit pause.

Note: The lap counts and start instruction only apply to Saturday. Sunday will be a timed race and each class will have only one formation lap with LMP starting first. We're doing this special procedure for the Saturday race so that both classes finish the races at about the same time. If it works out perfectly (which we got pretty close for Spa) the leaders of each class should be within a few seconds of each other at the finish.

Sounds good for the support race Tim.

But in order to avoid what happened at Spa with the replay are we going to shoot for a lower total lap count (even though, yes, we're still doing it timed) than 200 so we can have less of a gap between rewinding and fast forwarding stints?

Looks like we may end up doing something like 107 laps at an average page of 1:17?

Might be really wrong, head's kind of fuzzy right now after fighting off an angry mob of tacos that wanted to be eaten.

The 200 lap count was my fault.

The other room was set to a lower number, I just set it to the max, as I did not realize it caused the replay issues.

I think if we set it to something like 120 laps, it will still skip 2 laps every time, but at least it won't be 4 laps every time.

Please review the second point of our AUP.

We need you to use decent grammar, including the use of capitals at the start of sentences, and punctuation at the end.

And unless you are sick, it's 'I'll', not 'ill'.

Question: When starts exactly the timer (30secs for GT and 60 for LMP)? Is it when the engineers begin to change the tires or is it when they finish their job?

Great question. It's from the time they lift the 1st gear sign from in front of your car and the screen goes back to the in car view.

Or.... when the lollipopman lifts his lollipop ;)

Right. First event, this was explained a few different ways, one of which was "when the sign goes up", which could be construed as when the sign is in front of the driver.

Bottom line, when it goes back to in car view, you can start counting.

Thursday or Friday I can run Qualify / looking running.
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. to 16:00 (GMT +1) if s.
If not, then my next free time 20.00 - (GMT +1)
Since I was being an amateur, so if you please, be sure to run GT cars.
Thank you and excuse my language skills because of very bad ....: (

Notices:

The races on Saturday will take place in the "A" lounge GTP_3D3_A. If we need a 2nd lounge that race will take place in GTP_3D3_B.

Those of you who are signed up with reserve status on Saturday, please update your status by end of day Friday or at the latest early Saturday morning so we can decide whether to run two lounges or just one for each support race.

We'll run two lounges only if we have 16 or more committed drivers. If there are 15 or fewer committed with one hour to go to race time we'll open only one lounge and reserves can practice in the "B" lounge and we'll call you in if there are open spots at 5 minutes to race time. All committed drivers will get a guaranteed spot as long as they show up at least 10 minutes before the race. Show up last minute and you will likely lose your spot to a reserve. If enough reserves show up to "B" you are welcome to organize a race, but there will no be a steward present most likely.

If we have 16 or more we'll split drivers into two lounges and assign committed drivers to one lounge or the other based on qualifying times -- watch the thread Saturday morning for that announcement. In the case of two lounges there will be enough spots for all the reserves currently listed.

Tomorrow [Thursday] being the final for GT Qualifying, is the main lounge/stewards going to be available upon reasonable request?
