Thanks guys. Well done to Paul (oink) and Jon for rounding out the podium.
Pity that Bart couldn't make it, it could have made for an interesting battle for the lead.
My strategy was to start on Sports Softs, since the weather dried out at the start and the tyre wear of the Inters would have forced a pit stop after just a few laps. I intended to stop once at the end of lap 24 (actually lap 23), and since it was still dry another set of S3s went on. I decided to increase the refuel amount by a few litres as PD's calculation could have been thrown off by the formation lap.
If it had been raining and the surface water had been higher than 20% or so, I would have changed to Inters. If it had stopped raining but was still cloudy, I would have only changed to Inters at 35% or so, and if it was sunny I would have only switched at 50% or more. Also, if it was wet but sunny I may have changed to a 2-stop to give me the chance to change back to S3s if it dried out again. I was only guessing here, and the last thing I wanted was to change to Inters, have the rain stop, and have to pit again because my tyres had completely worn out.
Unfortunately, I did pretty much what Senna did at Monaco in '88 and crashed with about 8 laps to go. I sustained engine damage, which meant I had to pit again, though at least I could put on the Inters since it had started to rain and I only had a few laps left (if I hadn't crashed, I would've stayed out regardless). The crash cost me 40-45 seconds, enough to stop me lapping Paul (oink). Still, can't complain about the overall result
So glad we had enough people to make this race official, thanks to everyone who entered 👍
