We will try and get you a 67 or a 66 ticket sent over, do you know how to dupe the ticket so u can re use it if you dont get the car you want?
If he just has the 1 ticket, no need to dupe, you can just use the "Redeem all" option, then if it isnt the right car, quit game straight away and reload.

Revoy can you add GTP_Vagabond. He will get you the ticket.

I don't know where you guys have got with the gifting, but race is starting in 40 minutes, so make it quick!

Make sure at least you get back in before the start Chris!

Well done Matthew for pole.

I decided to stream, so for anyone who won't be racing and fancies seeing me fail...badly ;)

Well that was a pitiful and embarrassing performance. I crashed after running wide at Parabolica and ran 6 laps waiting for the damage to repair, which it didn't (never run heavy damage before) so had to pit. Then crashed again losing concentration into the chicane and made the car undriveable, even to get back round to the pits. Not an auspicious start to my D1G career and 1st online race in a while.... :ouch: Should've practised really but left it too late. Currently feeling like Romain Grosjean last year - good at hot lapping and ***** at racing. :P

Sorry for dropping out guys - hope you enjoyed the rest of the race anyway. Never could've matched your pace Matt, not without some serious practice. 👍

No problem Chris, shame your race didn't go quite so smoothly, but this was a tricky one to come back to, especially without a bunch of prep.

I personally had a lot of fun in the race. Only one incident with another driver, that was Jon locking up going into 1st chicane and hitting the inside wall, and because I was right behind him, just didn't have enough time to stop, so crunched into him. Jon got some engine damage I think, and I was somewhat lucky in that I only got wheel damage. However I was on a 1 stop strategy, so I went from then until lap 23 with my wheel off centre and shaking and rattling like a madman which didn't exactly help!

Other than that, kept it tidy, stayed on sport soft for the 2nd stint, and had a pretty solid 2nd stint, lapping consistent 47's. Noticed the rain coming along, and at lap 40 it was at ~10%. Said to myself, if its 20% by 42, go in, and it exactly was, so pitted onto the Racing Inters, and kept those on until the end. Made 1 minor off, and 1 major off (just loss of concentration, ran long into the sand at parabolica), other than that not too bad. Considering how awful I was in practice, was very happy with 2nd place, but really, Matthew was miles faster than the lot of us so 👍 to him for a well deserved win!

Saying thanks to you guys for making it possible for me to race tonight. I did not regret it

Congrats on a huge win, Matthew. 👍

Well-done's to everyone else for even attempting this. I would have loved to join, but was
otherwise occupied at the time. I caught the first few laps of @oink83's stream on my phone, and
damn it looked fun. :dopey: Glad to hear the rain came too, the sunny skies at the start were,
umm, not so hardcore. :D

Special mention to @hasslemoff for hatching this one and seeing it through to an official race. 👍

Yeh definite 👍 to hasslemoff, pretty much single handedly produced this one.

Oh, it seems like I started one position too high, I was supposed to have been 5th but I started as 4th. Sorry about that :guilty:

Good race, everyone! It was awesome!

No you we're suppose to be 4th my mistake on the docs 👍.

Thanks guys. Well done to Paul (oink) and Jon for rounding out the podium. Pity that Bart couldn't make it, it could have made for an interesting battle for the lead.

My strategy was to start on Sports Softs, since the weather dried out at the start and the tyre wear of the Inters would have forced a pit stop after just a few laps. I intended to stop once at the end of lap 24 (actually lap 23), and since it was still dry another set of S3s went on. I decided to increase the refuel amount by a few litres as PD's calculation could have been thrown off by the formation lap.

If it had been raining and the surface water had been higher than 20% or so, I would have changed to Inters. If it had stopped raining but was still cloudy, I would have only changed to Inters at 35% or so, and if it was sunny I would have only switched at 50% or more. Also, if it was wet but sunny I may have changed to a 2-stop to give me the chance to change back to S3s if it dried out again. I was only guessing here, and the last thing I wanted was to change to Inters, have the rain stop, and have to pit again because my tyres had completely worn out.

Unfortunately, I did pretty much what Senna did at Monaco in '88 and crashed with about 8 laps to go. I sustained engine damage, which meant I had to pit again, though at least I could put on the Inters since it had started to rain and I only had a few laps left (if I hadn't crashed, I would've stayed out regardless). The crash cost me 40-45 seconds, enough to stop me lapping Paul (oink). Still, can't complain about the overall result :D

So glad we had enough people to make this race official, thanks to everyone who entered 👍

Great job Matthew but I would've given you a race if I'd been adequately prepared so no need to ignore the fact I had a disaster. My car was stock and I had 5 laps practise.... ok maybe it was naive to think I could hit the ground running but that was most embarrassing race performance I've had to date.

No doubt you would have given me a run for my money, if not crushed me if you had practised more. As we both know from the WRS TT events, it takes time to get up to speed, especially if it's a combination different to what you're familiar with. If I hadn't raced online in months and done only 5 laps of practice, I'd almost certainly have messed up too. I did notice you keeping up with me in the first few laps, though.

For what it's worth, I did a fair bit of practice, in varying conditions with different tyres. I like to prepare well for any online race that I enter.

You were on fire mate 👍 In practice I thought "holy crap!" Yeah it does take time to get up to speed but I have to admit I'd made the arrogant assumption I could do it during the race :dunce: :P Still, great win mate. And thanks for great event guys... I'll actually prepare for the next one. :guilty:
