GTP WTAC Week 93 : Lotus Esprit (Part II)

*** In the second part of our Lotus Esprit challenge series, we get a chance to enjoy two more contemporary Lotus Esprit models - the 2002 Esprit V8 and the 2000 Esprit Sport 350. I've never drive either model in GT PSP, so I can't comment on which is faster or which has better handling. What I can say is that both should be fairly fast and have gobs of HP and torque. Anticipating that, I have changed the tire requirements from S2 (which is a general default tire choice for me in normal sports cars) to S3 tires. So we'll get a little more grip for Week 93 than we normally would! ***

1. Track : Tokyo Route 246 (forward)

Well I bought a bunch of games when the PSP Go came out but got rid of it due to crappy service. I just installed GTPSP on my Vita so when I get some free time, I will have have to start over and gold everything. But I should have hopefully both cars soon enough to start competing :D

any one having some trouble to get under 2 mins?
I can only do like 2'01.xxx
and that is my limit I suppose...

and what is ur metod for first corner? to what speed do u break?
I usually break to 80-90km/h but I found that with lilttle help of luck u can actually go 100+ through this one...:grumpy:

EDIT:
YES! I made it ;D went under 2mins :D
My current time is 1'59.009 :D
I'm so proud of myself :D
:woot:

Thanks :)
My current time is 1'57.5xx :D
Any others to compare? Ur times guys will be probably like 1'55 or 1'50 O.o :P
But I'm waiting the most for some screens of GTPSP on Vita :D

U know Shigegaki that Vita can make screens by default with PS button + Start?
So I will be glad to see some gameplay screens please :) :D

I don't think you can take screenshots of PSP games because I just tried it and got an error of you can't take a screenshot of this. But..

Just messing with the Lotus Esprit V8 ’02. Currently sitting at 1'56.5xx, I think I can shave it another .500 because at the end I was drifting the final corner haha.

I would really apriciate if U would find a way to make one :dopey:
If not camera shot will be good to ;)

and I'm at 1'57.3xx 👍

First times (stock settings)
Esprit V8 ~ 1'56.036
Esprit 350 ~ 1'55.387

Even though both cars have equal HP value, the 350 is sort of a performance model with more torque and a rear wing that makes it a lot more stable than the V8. Both cars have great potential though. 👍

That isn't a issue, but don't expect any high res footage from GTPSP on the Vita. Even with the new filter system in place, it still doesn't look much different.

Does the bilinear filtering affect the frame rate in any way?

So my friend has to borrow my PSP this week, so I'm not gonna be able to do any laps until Saturday. Hopefully, I can open up time to be able to get good laps in, but if I can't, then I'll have to skip this week. :)

That's a pretty nice looking machine, Shigegaki! I'm jealous!

Yeah, it's definitely an awesome looking machine. Those dual analogs just give a different feel to the portable. Maybe I'll wait til the Vita has more games before getting it here. 👍

I think a little more tweaking, and I should be finished with the V8 car.

so u can't see ur ghost save data on Vita like on PSP?

and yes it looks nice ;) so when can we see some gameplay shots? :dopey:

We must show the replay data cuz there is more info? or we can put ingame stats like Shigegaki ?

He can still view ghost replay save data just like we view it (from the PSP's root directory). He is just showing us his time from the 'my records' screen.

We all still need to show the full replay data (as we've been doing). You'll notice that Shigegaki's picture doesn't have all the necessary information that we need. What's missing? Which track was used.
👍

Thank you for clearing this up Detroit, I knew this would come up. I have everything saved from Ghost to my Replay. I know to cover my bases, I have been around the block a few times ;)

:drool:Thanks for sharing PSV infos Shigegaki! That improved Steering Stick is really tempting me.
Hmmm...(thinking, if I should buy a Vita).

BTW, is there a PSV application where you can integrate GTPSP's ADHOC multiplayer to infrastructure mode? Or do you still need the ADHOC party application in the PS3 in order to be connected globally?

Just confirming, I will not be participating in this week's challenge. :(

The reason? Earlier today, my friend who borrowed my psp asked me if I could let him return it on Monday, I allowed him just that, since it's actually been a few years since I lent him my psp.

Anyways, I'll still be around to see how this challenge turns out, so I really won't miss out on the fun. 👍
