Mon dieu! I've been making a lot of mistakes lately! I guess it's a sign that I'm becoming old and senile! Ha ha ha

Thanks for the help - I truly appreciate it and obviously need it!

:) 👍 :)

Integra has nice sound ;)
and good car over all.
I need to buy mazda still...:ill:

I agree! The Honda does sound nice!

👍

Make sure you buy the correct Mazda touring car - the Mazda6, not the Mazda Atenza... they both have different performance (they only look identical on the outside; under the hood, they are quite different).

First time for the Mazda6 Touring Car :

1'29.266.

BUT I don't know if it's because we just had a very good week, this challenge is a little bit boring in comparison : lack of HP for me, a little bit frustrating... I also have a strange feeling that I'm going to struggle a lot to be way faster than that : I aim a mid 1'28, let's see what's happening this week.

Good luck everyone !

I decided to give the Mazda 6 Touring Car a try.

1'28.898

I used the 6-8 spring-damper balance and set rear toe to 0 yet the car seemed to be very sensitive to understeer. Maybe I'll try running the ITR to see the difference in both cars.

I did about 3 laps with the ITR and came up with...

1'29.812

The gear ratio of the ITR was a lot closer than the one on the Mazda6, it had better acceleration, but needed to shift gears a lot quicker too, and the top speed on the main straight is slow compared to the Mazda.

I can probably improve it a bit more though, but I really think the Mazda6 will be the faster one this week.

I agree. Same here 1'29.836 (L-F tuning), seems to be smoother but definitively slower than the Mazda (which has 310 hp too but 1070 kilos vs 1050 for the ITR (nailed it ;)))

New time with the Mazda : 1'28.480 (L-F tuning)

but don't do like me : restart every time I miss first corner, I wasted precious practice time with the other corners... and it got me so frustrated quickly, I let the psp alone and play PS3...

Good luck all ! And don't worry if you have a 1'30, still early in the week, you've got time to improve and improvement will be greater, you'll catch up soon !

PS : I really think this track would be more suitable for higher HP cars because of the long straights it has... Sorry, Mea Culpa...

I do just that, honestly, I usually grasp the whole track and how the car will react in the first 5 laps in each car. When I see that the car reacts differently or has difficulty in one corner, I focus my attention there. When I miss those corners, "Start-Restart" :P 👍

I remember asking which WTAC session we are on, and I traced everything from the WTAC that easy started, plus a little help from the statistics thread (thank God it exists, I wished it could be kept up to date, though...) we are on our 12th WTAC Session! :D :tup

👍

First times

Mazda 6 : 1'28.932
Honda Integra: 1'29.368

At first I had to keep restarting with the honda because of the understeer but with some tuning I'm comfortable.

New time with the Mazda : 1'28.106

I'm stuck at 1'28.1xx though .145 .132 .127 .113

Worse, I usually have one split .1xx faster than my .106 but can't manage to make it to the end and finally hit a 1'27.xxx.

Where are you at guys ?

Anyone already in 1'27 :scared: ?

I did a few laps with both cars again, and somehow corrected my settings with the Mazda.
Mazda6 ~ 1'27.790
ITR ~ 1'28.520

So... Mazda6 is a AWD Touring Car, so which setup to start with ?

Touring Cars/FF Race Cars
Aero: 19/44
Height: -5/-5
Springs: 6/6
Dampers: 7/7
Toe: -0.35/-0.25
Camber: 2.5/2.0

or

DTM Cars/4WD Race Cars
Aero: 32/56
Height: -5/-5
Springs: 6/6
Dampers: 8/8
Toe: -0.35/-0.35
Camber: 3.0/3.0

?

;)

I personally started with L-F tuning :

Aero - max
Ride Height - 0/0
Spring Rate - 3/3
Damper - 4/4
Toe - 0/0
Camber Angle - 0/0

then Tried out the one L-F used for the DTM we ran @ Apricot Hill Raceway - Reverse at week 02 !

Aero - 32/56 (well, aero max for the Mazda6)
Ride Height - 0/0
Spring Rate - 6/4
Damper - 4/4
Toe - -0.05/-0.05
Camber Angle - 1.0/0.5

I added some camber to it to both front & rear and there's where I'm stuck... 1'28.1xx :ouch:

Good luck !

I'm STUCK and can't stop trying with the Mazda6  !!!

Man, I haven't put serious laps with the ITR :scared: !

Nervously tough WTAC for me !

For the Mazda6, I used the Touring Car/FF settings, since the car doesn't have much downforce. I tried using the DTM setup, which was the default setting for the car, but all I got was a very stiff ride and lots of understeer.

Did some laps with the Integra and managed an 1'27.7xx stock.
Wow! That's something I got to aim for this week. Good lap there, MVR! 👍
