Watsup guys!

Im quite new to the boards.
And since this thread is already way too long to browse, i have a few questions.

How can i earn/add the GTP tag?
What do i need to do to place myself in a certain division?
Lap times?

:dunce:

Thanks for the info!

btw what's "T1 and T2 splits"?

When you watch your replay back, press the Square button, this will show your T1/T2 times, basically the track is split into 3 sections, T1, T2 and T3 being the finish line. 👍

Welcome to the registry guys 👍

And congratulations to Erik on an excellent return to the fold with a great placing, see you in WRS hippy :D

All the best
Maz

Hey Erik, I thought you said you were slow and way off your pace - now I understand because you qualified only for Div2 Bronze while actually you are Div1 material :D :D :D

Well done and nice to have you back.

Hi, sorry to post a really stupid question but I want to make sure I do everything correctly. I'm just practising to run the qualifier and hopefully gain my GTP tag and my question is: Can we quick tune the RX-7 or do we have to run it stock? If we can, is there a limit (PP etc.)?

Sorry if it's been asked loads but I had a good hunt around and couldn't find anything concrete.

Thanks - Andy

Hi Andy.

The qualifier should be run in Arcade mode time trial on S2 tyres, so quick tune and PP considerations are irrelevent 👍

All the best

Excellent, thanks for clearing that up, I hadn't seen the time trial bit, thought you had to run an arcade race :dunce:

Better get on it then!

Just wondering, how do u go about placing drivers on certain divisions? Is it solely on his/her lap time? And wat are the ranges (time-wise)? I went for a practice run and i consistently clocked late X:XX's early X:XX's if i remember correctly.. still way off even for rank 100 worldwide at 1:55:5XX.

Hi - I've edited your laptimes out, as while the top times are visible online, we'd prefer not to have transparent visibility to all division's cutoffs.

The idea behind the qualifier is to group you with racers of your own ability, so yes, the divisions are based on laptime alone. Please just put in your best effort and submit your time. 👍

Welcome to GTPlanet.

I see, I fully understand.. Sorry about that :/ thanks for clarifying though and for the welcome.

Another newbie question here. If one gets better over time at driving and improve on lap times, can he/she advance to higher divisions?

Newbie questions:

1. Do you have to stay on the strip, or is it where you can go on it if you like?

AND

2. Is there no clutch at all even after the qualifier, like in online races?

THANKS!

If by strip you mean the track it is defined here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3347995&postcount=1 which parts of the track are OK and which are not. If you are going to take part in any of the official events the clutch is not allowed. You may of course use the clutch when you're just racing for fun.

Good luck in qualifying

Listen up Punk.........
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Yes, as you improve you can move up through the divisions towards Division 1.
The Online Registry has a system they use and to me it seems very appropriate.
Here is a link to the promotions thread.

See you in WRS :)

Did you forget about me? GTP_DGiant2000, I sent my time in last week and you sent me a pm to say I'd go on at the end of the week. If not, I'd better stop using my GTP tag!

Relax, Sjaak is a busy guy, he will get to you, and you can use your tag in the mean time with no worries. 👍

Welcome to all the newb's. :mischievous:

Oh, I'm not complaining, he's doing a great job, had replied to my qualifying time within 10 mins! Just checking all was ok and don't need to do anything else 👍
