I'd love to have a go at this but looks like I'm going to have to sit this one out as well due to the looping issues on my account that the last update caused. Good luck everyone and hope to be back soon.

I seem to get the same AI line-up every time... the advantage being I am adapting to its quirks but it does have some unfortunate timing in a couple of places. Just performed a blind overtake on a Ford Focus through the kink. :scared:

If I stay in and just keep trying it over and over the lineup stays the same for me also Chris. When I exit, and come back in, it changes. So far, I have only noticed three or four lineups. The easiest one for me seems to be the one where the white cube is the car starting just ahead.

I had one lineup that was working for me last night, but as I improved I got to a point where I was catching cars in really bad spots so will have to try a different one again. The AI is infuriatingly slow through the kink. The only other spot that really catches me out is the second half of the double left at the very start of the lap.

Ron, I know that you have to finish in 1st place to get the Gold. What I was wanting to find out is what lap times it took to get it. Ya know, 1'30.xxx, 133.xxx etc.

Yeah, you need to have them partway into the corner at the kink so you can pick a side and hope for the best. It's much better if they are a little further ahead, you can take the corner at full speed, AND get a tow up the hill.

The first corner, if you get there soon enough, you can dive bomb the inside and just squeeze through. But it takes perfect timing. The other option is to just hold the outside, and know you have the green stuff if you need to use it. That is also the only spot I've spun the car, when trying to go in hot and pull off a crazy move.

It's going to depend on the lineup you are against, and we should be a little careful what we share, so we are not telling people the overall time we are running. ;)

Discounting the fist lap, I think with the lineup I had last night, which was with a Red Civic Si at the front and a Black Cube in the back, I could probably have taken first with average between 1'33 and 1'34. You lose a little to that on the first lap, due to the slow start and additional traffic.

Haha yeah I know that Ron... :sly: I mean even when I exit and re-enter, I get the same line-up. From yesterday to today, I've still got the same line-up. :odd:

Oh. I suppose around 130 to 135 average depending on the set of cars you get. Some will be faster than others. With this car, I'll tell you this much, you have to hoof it the whole way. It is by no means a cake walk!

Edit: Oh, and don't tell Kevin you got those times from me!

Yeah, the divebomb was working well against the black cube in turn one. There was another lineup where the 11th place car was a bit faster, so I had to take the outside and try not to get squished to the wall on the right hander. I did find that the car gets all sorts of unsettled on the rumbles on the outside of that turn though.

This event style is immensely fun Kev, more please :) Even if I dont get time to compete very often

Strange indeed chap! OK, try this. Sit backwards in your rig, afix a mirror to the opposite wall, and steer with your hands behind your back. The cars may be the same, but they will have an entirely different look. Plus, and this is the important part, the rest of us will then have a chance at winning this thing.

First try. Only tried one starting grid, the one with the black cube just in front of me.

I had another sit down this evening. 2 second improvement in my overall time.

I just can't seem too get a clean set of laps I always end up tagging one if the AI cars I have had some good lap times but always bugger it up before the end. I guess I need too back off a bit and not be so aggressive. But hey loving this format for the WRS it is great fun.

I meant to give this a try last night, but there've been too many friends to race with online.

I pulled a good all-around 5-lap race, 1'31.253 my car still not full broken in

Great start Baron. 👍

Novel idea Ron... but... you did beat me once remember..? Here :)

And the last time I beat Wes was Week 42 :indiff:

Oh and I finally manged to get a different line-up :) ..and a better time for last lap and better consistency too. Still enjoying it so far.... :sly:

Another try, same line up. The Focus is getting in my way, when I have a faster time going I meet it at the chicane.

1'30.670

Well I finaly got a couple of clean sets in too bad I forgot to save my best one :banghead: But this one will work for now.

1'33.501

1'30.574

Had a 1'30.2xx but met the next car at the chicane and ruined the run. I think I can work it out though.

A gentle start for a newbie. How on earth do you guys manage 1'30.xxx?? I'll try some different grids and see if better drafting helps!

1'35.155
1'33.588

Short shifting certainly makes a big difference. I shifted at 8100 rpm with Kevin's tune.

1'32.127
1'31.301
I'm flying :D

A step back, but overall a step forward ;)

1'31.238
Amazing what a little focus can do...

These guys are hardcore, ridiculously quick and in some cases, aliens :D

You shouldn't have met another car if you had a 1'30.2xx on your last lap, it is only your last lap time you should be posting.

Unless you meant that you had already ruined the run before the last lap.
