First sit, around 10 laps:

I thought I would hate this, but it is fun. I guess the only time I ever drove this track was for the challenge tirials. This is much better than driving a VW bus at 50 mph or the KubelWagen. I like learning a track that I never really tried to figure out the best way to get around it.

After 20 laps

Anyone have advice about getting through the Follow Through? I'm not sure how to approach it. How much speed to scrub, entry point and so forth. The track is so flat that it is hard to judge the approach.

For the follow through, Im slightly lifting off for the entry (about 3/4) then getting back on power very quickly, its a judgement corner really theres no real reference just ease into the corner with a slight lift and get back on power very quickly, since the exit is wide its very hard to run out of road so take a lot but not much track on the exit or you can lose momentum on the run to the final corners

I actually really like this track. I didn't think I did. The last half of the course from Follow Through to the end are great fun, especially the second to last (Gambon?).

This is the first time I have really ran laps on this track. Just the Specials till now. I must say that it is a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I am especially fond of the "Chicago" turn. This car is fun too! Figuring out "Wilson" is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. I have yet to take the same line through there twice.....

Thanks for the tips. It really helped lower my third sector time 👍.

I know that WRS rules on this event state.... The game boundaries are appropriate. Just keep the car inside the normal boundaries....but, is it possible to get to get red lapped by GT5 on this track and still run a lap that would be cleared by WRS rules on replay? Thanks!

I've a few in which the usual WRS rules would call it a clean lap (i.e. two wheels on track), but the game considered it dirty. I think what the post you quoted means is that for this event, we have to go with what GT5 considers clean because you can't save a ghost of a "dirty" (id est red) lap. I've had it go the other way too where GT5 called it clean, but it was clearly dirty by WRS standards. It is frustrating, though, when you have a good lap going and then all of a sudden the lap timer turns red :banghead:. At least it's the same for everyone.

Roger that gman! That says it all. I should have realized that, if you cant save a replay, it's not a lap. It seems that is a phenomenon that takes place on this track more than any other. Thanks!

Is this after turn wilson off track ? I think yes, but only to be sure.
Really not sure in some turns where the track for us stops. Thanks.

I could not have said it better myself, you are correct.

When we ran here before, the new boundary rules were not in place, so boundaries were much more ambiguous. I tested before posting the event, and was satisfied that the game would deal with short cutters.

We of course still require you to stay on the hard stuff and not hit the cones. The game does not enforce that everywhere.

That's fine. As long are you keep 2 on hard surface and you are not red clocked by the game, you are safe.

First go with Mohits tune, 👍

Oh dear. I'm going to have to try and catch up tonight. You're leaving me in the dust!

Lost a bit of time in sector 2 but gained some at the line, those two last corners are going to be very important I think. By the way, is running wide in the last corner allowed, so long as two wheels are on the concrete bit at the exit of the last corner?

If so

17.946

I just need to get a better middle sector, can't go lower than a .8 there :banghead: BTW using Mohits tune with my own gears (same top speed though)

Unless Kevin corrects me, I think that's probably fine to run wide at the end, since it wasn't otherwise stated in the OP. In week 42 when we did this track with karts, the OP stated you couldn't go outside the solid white and orange lines, but Kevin's a bit more lenient now. :P

Oh really? So solid track is boundary on the last turn and not the white lines? Been trying to keep two wheels inside the line on my laps.

Had low 5s at the split in this session but no conversions. There's a good .2 left and someone will put up a 47.3 or 47.4 I'm sure!

Pretty average t1 but was nearly perfect thru hammerhead, flirting with the red clock boundaries!

Let's wait for Kevin to answer definitively. Since concrete is never usually part of tracks, it could be that he didn't intend for that to be in-bounds. The white line isn't the boundary, but the tarmac-concrete transition might be. I haven't driven this track in forever so I'm hardly the authority. :P
