I've been using the concrete as in bounds as well :scared:. Likened them to rumble strips found on regular tracks.

Nice splits Anastasis and Matt 👍. Inspired me to get some seat time in.

Lost a bit of time in sector 2 but gained some at the line, those two last corners are going to be very important I think. By the way, is running wide in the last corner allowed, so long as two wheels are on the concrete bit at the exit of the last corner?)

I think it's fine, but can you please just post a pic, so I know exactly what we are talking about?

It seems to be that at some point it goes, grass, track, grass, track, grass.

So you would need to be careful to not end up with 4 off.

Maybe this is what people are talking about:

If that's not clean, then I have to withdraw my latest splits.

Was just up a full quarter of a second on my best lap and throw it away in the last corner. Still some improvement, but I know there is more there:

That's A-OK. 👍 Just keep 2 on the hard stuff.

I have to say, if you have ever watched Star in a Reasonably Priced car they end up lawn mowing in that corner half the time anyhow. :P

(Thanks, Jo!)

Ok, thanks Kevin, we can all breath easy now!

I guess it's ok to have 2 wheels on the hard stuff after the start/finish line when we start a lap as well ?

Just when I thought I could catch you :dopey:
Insane splits I'd say 👍

Ooh nice splits Mohit :)

I think I can get a low five for a submission lap but that's probably it. Will get another run over the weekend, only dropped 100 miles so far so hopefully can double that before Monday!

Of course. You need to have 2 wheels on the hard stuff everywhere.

When have we EVER let you go lawn mowing here? :dopey:

I am still having issues finding my way around this track. Its the corners with no land marks that are killing me!!!! Hard to be consistent.

Feeling a bit better today so had another quick session tonight

Best 1st sector was 29.645 so looking for that with maybe a tenth in sector 2. Nice splits so far there Mohit... 👍 ...almost worthy of D1 :P

Yeah Alli..it is hard to find the points for braking, especially at Gambon......

Thanks Matt, Anastasis, and Chris 👍.

Saw a .696 in T1, but with a PB T2 and T3, think I'm going to submit with what I got.

Crozzlow, use the black asphalt on the road as a brake marker for Gambon.

Missing something in sector 2, not sure what I'm doing wrong at the hammer head

Don't get how you can do 7s in sector 1, it's doing my head in getting in the 8s :banghead:

Good finish to this lap ;)

I was going to get back into these weekly events and was going to start with this but I do not have this track in Practice at all.

You have to get a gold in the first Top Gear special event. See page 2 of this thread for a quick (and dubious) way to unlock it if it is giving you trouble. The more the merrier.

I has skimmed over all the posts but missed it, thanks

Had a nice sit down with this tonight. Not much improvement. I have one more night to try.

Lost it in T2 and got nervous in 3 still about 2 tenths to find, I keep loosing it in T3 it's hard not to go flying into the grass there

How do you go so fast in sector one? I'm two car lengths down on those times on my best runs, don't see how else to drive it? #confused

I would post a video but I only have Internet on my phone, but it's basically staying close to the lines in the first and third corner, for corner 1 I'm staying close to the edge of the track on the right, braking just before the bend on the track and staying as close as possible to the red and white mark, my aim is to pass there close enough not to red lap, the next corner is flat, Chicago I'm braking about 1.5 car lengths from the tires ad trail braking, hugging the line on the exit and shooting straight ahead. It worked out right on my lap as its the only time I've done a .6 all others range from .7s and .8s

Cheers Manu! I'm kinda doing that, ish. I am reliant on the driving line though, which I guess cripples me slightly.

29.857
17.696

Lost half a tenth in the penultimate corner, got the entry wrong....still a tenth left, one more go tomorrow.....

Ahh if your using the line the only difference is you brake about half way into the red before Chicago, ideally you need to carry some speed in Chicago but not a lot to go wide, If you brake too late there you lose too much speed in the corner so brake a bit early and carry some speed while trying to get around the long corner. Nice sector 2 time though, took me a while to figure that one out.

That last corner I feel Im losing a tenth or two, its like threading a needle there but I feel Im losing a lot through there. I was a tad cautious there :scared:

I think ill never see the .6 in sector 1 again :( still 2 tenths to find overall
