Is anyone else having a problem with the number 3 braking board for the last corner disappearing as soon as you drive past it to start your first lap ?

First half hour on track got me to these splits:
T1: 26.145
T2: 24.889
T3: 21.175

Going around again tomorrow...

I noticed that it had disappeared for me too. Frustrating given that it is pretty close to the braking point.

Also, I assume that clipping the brake markers is a no-no (contact with object). I notice that there are a few scattered around that are well within the 2-wheels on track boundaries.

Is the cockpit view ridiculously overexposed for everyone else as well? I don't know if I can stand it. And I really don't know why they haven't fixed it yet!!

Just checked it out while watching my replay, and yeah, it's silly.

Anyhow, have my first splits here.

26.067
24.630
21.039

I'm curious about gear selection from the fastest guys. Since PD didn't get the gearing right on this car, there are some places where 1st gear works, but I'm curious if anyone is using it. I'm using it in the first and last turns.

I dislike this track and car (because of controller), but I keep finding time... first splits:

26.286
24.615
20.645

I've had a 26.0 T1, but I'm still trying to find the best line in the double left. Keeping the car from oversteering at the exit with the sixaxis is a pain.

I'm not the fastest but I couldn't see any difference between 1st and 2nd, so I stuck with 2nd as the lowest.

First splits:
26.393
24.850
21.383

Wow.....FF to the Mopar Monster. Gotta get used to oversteer again. First splits just to get a div 4 on the board. Only time I'll be in front of those guys.

26.575
25.728
22.533

Thanks sped! I'll give 'er a go tomorrow... Gotta keep the D4 participation high!

First splits. Wondering what 1. and 4. gear are for :dopey:

I'd like the Aliens to jump on this one too . . 1st and last corners.
I've found that there is a fine line when feathering the throttle and wheelspin depending on the gear selection.
Also getting tyres to temp is something i have noticed seems to take me a few extra laps in this combo for some reason?
Need to turn more laps to be certain on any theory at this point.
- I reserve the right to change any and all of my theories without notice as the week progresses -

Cheers All !!!

I believe 2nd is faster for both, with moderated wheelspin. ;)

Ran a quick 15 lap stint, turning off active steering mid way through, did't like the feel of it, session results using abs 5, 7/7 BB

25.491
24.091
20.558

Dog **** corkscrew though, last sector is obviously the most important and technical.

Ran a further session, using 6/6 BB NO ACTIVE STEERING, its not fast with this car, you need the car to oversteer, particular at the 1st corner under braking, using 1st gear to help get the car to rotate as you release the brake, 2nd obviously when exiting. Same deal at the corkscrew, the car will almost snap at a particular speed in 1st gear and you need to use this technique to be able to brake later and drift initially upon entering the apex, and changing to 2nd to control the car. Last corner aswell, brake late, create oversteer, exit smooth:tup:

25.472
24.172
20.251

and a well timed last sector, this car too a while to understand.

corner after T3 requires no braking, but an immediate downshift to 2nd, at roughly 136-137 km/h to help arrest the car to 120-122 for the left, and same technique for the right except a slight tap of the brakes, you can power slide this right hander but its risky.

After the first session I hated the car to start with then over time it grew on me. I do love the orange.

T1: 26.281
T2: 25.089
T3: 21.069

First Run

25.789
24.357
20.396

Can See another .15 in T1 and another .15 or so in T1 - T2 with probably another .15 - .2 in T3 - Finish.

Solid start but hope to find most of that by the end of the week 👍
Great combo Kev

Now this looks fun, despite 20+ hours of GT5'ing at Famine's house over the weekend, I think I'm mighty tempted to give this a go in a bit. Laguna is one of my favourite tracks, great mix of corners.

Some good tips from Dan above too, which is great to see. 👍

Time to pull out the purple challenger!

Their not use to stick shift, so set the gearing that it’s just one shift up one shift down.

;)

Phillip.

The real story is that PD messed up when modeling the gearing for this car.

My car happens to be a 6 speed manual. It goes about 35 MPH in 1st, nearly 60 MPH in second. 3rd goes up to about 90, and we won't talk about the rest of them. ;)

The automatic has a 5 speed and different final drive ratio, but the shift points are actually quite similar. It seems PD decided to fit the car with a 2500 final drive ratio, or something. :yuck:

First splits. Luckily Kev is NTSC and can't see my replay, the way i'm bouncing off the limiter would make him cringe :nervous:

26.007
24.457
20.793

Takes a while to get used to after the little civic. First 5 laps I didn't even get to the start line, kept braking too late and going into the sand
