Is wk44 official yet - can we at least get Joao promoted

I´m here to stay :sly::mischievous:

Some more laps last night and chasing those tenth is going to be as always  a pain...

T1: 24.858
T2: 20.794

Already seen a 45.5x but the pressure got over me :yuck:

I struggled to make any improvements yesterday, but I finally made some more progress this morning. I kinda screwed up the turn coming out of the tunnel, so I definitely have room for improvement on T2, but I dropped T1 by almost 3/10ths.

T1: 25.061
T2: 21.122

First turn - Go in faster then possible - get lucky. That's my recipe atm.:dopey:

 I will try that one tonight. Hope it will be my lucky day

I haven't had better than 25.1xx so not really that qualified, but I thunder up to it, then downshift one gear with a slight brake, turn hard and make it skid a bit, try to miss the curb on the left by about 1CM and then understeer out wide to the outer curb, brake really rather hard to get the next apex and then desperately try not to understeer onto the grass. It's really very difficult, but not as difficult as the next two turns.

Are you guys using the massive curb in the tunnel as a "bat stop"? I've managed to whack the curb a few times, not hit the wall and be doing about 85mph, which seems ridiculous as you go thundering towards it.

I think the key to the tight right out of the tunnel is to late apex it, you need to stay right otherwise you can't take the left fast enough OR you'll dirty the lap by doing what Kevin has illustrated that you must not do with the picture in the OP. If you lift or have to brake you'll ruin the speed up the hill and have a bad T2. Saw 24.8s just before I saved my fastest lap which turned out to be dirty on replay, then after that I blew a 45.9xx - giving up til tomorrow (or later, depending on how determined I feel :D)

My only other tip is to brake late - very late - for the final turn, shift right up into 2nd and this thing engine-brakes like hell, it can make you nail the apex easier and from higher entry speed, or it does for me....

Min corner speeds:
1.) 111
2.) 76
3.) 83 (ignoring slight right before left into tunnel)
4.) 46
(... flat out down to last turn)

* Disclaimer - this advice may contain traces of amateurishness.

Thanks for the tip. I sort of doining it like that. But still not good enough i supose

Losing .4xx atm in T1 :ouch:

Gonna give it another go later tonight

Finally getting used to the track/car combo. I still feel slow in T1 going into the tunnel, and slow coming out of it for T2, but I'm improving.

T1: 25.539
T2: 21.299

I can see myself getting into the low 25s in T1 and mid-hi 20's in T2, but we'll see.

Here's my latest splits after four hours.
T1: 25.149
T2: 20.774

It's the end of the tunnel that's been the toughest for me. I can get there quicker, and then it's just a long, slow, agonizing death as the ghost just drives away. The thing is, I know the driver, and he's an idiot!! :D

I finally had to turn off the ghost, the track map, and the time just so I wouldn't keep getting distracted. After that I found over 7/10ths of a second.

Sounds like you guys are having alot of fun with this one. Also seems to be tougher than I thought it would be. I guessI better get started on it tonight.

Found the correct track eventually :P Looks like my T1 needs some work...

24.835
20.677

Not as enjoyable as the forward track that i drove by accident but will grow on me soon I guess :) Off to work now! back later in the wee small hours 👍

If anybody is interested, I just set up an online room for practicing this week's WRS. We can have some fun, share tips, or go together trough the penance of looking for little fractions of a second here and there.

Look for it in the open lobby section or add me in PSN (GTP_ARP93) 👍

Some small improvment in the spilts. But .2xx at the line. Was practicing T1 most of the evening. It's getting to me bit by bit. Saw a .8xx in T1 but blew it in T2, what else is new

24.952
20.739

I was up .2 then like usual I was over-hyped and botched the last turn.

24.960

Gave this one a 25 lap stint last night, not sure on my exact splits at the moment but think they add up to a 46.8xx or in that region, fun to get back in to the WRS for this week at least, I'm actually faster in sector 1 than I thought I would be, the turn into the tunnel has always felt awkward to me, but on the other hand I'm a little slower than I expected in sector 2. Recently purchased a G27, totally impressed with the quality but its taking me a long time to get back to my old DFGT pace (not that it was blistering in the first place!!)

Its been a while since I've taken part and I've just noticed congrats are in order for Gravitron on his promotion to D2, well done!! 👍

Small improvement at the line with these splits...

24.775
20.667

Seen some 24.6's at T1 but they aint easy at all and I'm lucky to get there 1 time in 10 laps :banghead:

I reckon I can get another .2 overall with lots of patience and then will submit 👍

Some crazy fast splits been posted so far  GL to all

First splits.

25.105
20.763

Completely missing the plot in sector 1

Found some of it. Just go calm and do not slide.

24.866
20.674

In pure astonishment I forgot to brake at the S2 hairpin, and subsequently also blew S3. Time to pick up that little piece of cardboard to cover the timer.

I'm amazed at how competetive this week is, 41 participant so far (!!!) I'm amazed, I'm so happy WRS is still alive. to everyone :)

Yeah, I'm kinda the same. I just got my DFGT (before I had had the controller) and I was god-awful with it in the first three days. I didn't know how much to steer the wheel in conjunction with the corner, I couldn't correct a slide for the life of me, and overall just BAD. It was only yesterday that I recovered any 'skill' I required from using my six-axis.

This was my first time actually doing lap-time in GT5 (GT5P was my first GT but I didn't really play it, and I got GT5 with my DFGT at christmas), so I have alot to learn about shaving off tenths (thats a lie - it's more like seconds xD) off my overall time. At the moment my splits are:
T1 - 25.860
T2 - 21.193

I reckon I could get 0.5s-1s shaven off T1, and a few more tenths off of T2 (the exit of the tunnel). We'll see later :D

You're going to need to run the qualifier before you can take part.

I'm back

Ok, after an extended holiday I'm here to claim glory once again :sly:

1st splits are:

T1: 25.116
T2: 20.909

Finding it hard to stop the tyres from squealing like a 🤬 going into the 1st double left hander. :0

Put in some time last night. Best was 46.0xx but the forums were down so I did't post. Will try to get some more time tonight and put some times on the board.

New splits after second session:

25.539
21.199

After a day and night of great on-line racing, time to get back on the track and chase down Jake!! He got his first splits on the old DFP, so I'm not surprised to see him picking up the pace now that he's on his G27!
I've seen a few sub 25's in T1, but that corner after the tunnel is SO important and I have to concentrate on waiting for the right spot to hit the gas. We'll see what today brings. I've only got about eight hours to drive. Barely enough time to warm-up!! :dopey:

Racing On!!

25.045
20.930
These splits were done with auto, I think they are a good base to step on to the manual
Did 10 laps on the manual.
I've seen way more consistent and a bit faster T1,
T2 is a bit worse cause I have to let off the gas a bit or it will oversteer,
T3 is what I thought it was my magical by I took a tenth over my best T3 with auto in the 5th lap :dunce:
