Raging right now, was up .4xx coming out of the tunnel, then I ended the lap +.3xx of my fastest lap so far :grumpy: Stupid hairpin.

Current Splits aren't even worth posting yet..

Flat out at the start works best for me.

The way you can test out how GT5 deals w/ launches off the line, as far as progressive peddle vs reved out tire roasting drop of the green, just go over to the pilon test in the licenses and aim at the first pilon that will restart the test when you knock it over. Use what ever trick to get out of the hole and then w/ you aim off corse and hit the pilon it will kill the clock and you can see what the game says is the best launch and you can make your own call as to the proper departure method to use at the start.

That first sector is a bugger to hit the spot repeatedly aint it...? Hopefullly I can manage better consistency than at Monaco last week. Done about 10 laps today so far and feel more comfortable but I can't see where Josh is gaining 0.6 in T1 :ill:

It is. It's so easy to lose a chunk of time at such slow speeds. Agree about Josh's 0.6 (or 0.9 in my case) too. It's astounding.

Did another hour and improved a bit:

T1: 34.915
T2: 20.951

Made some progress in T1 but T2 was slower

T1: 35.180
T2: 21.698

Not my cup of tea this one

T:1 34.881
T:2 21.121

not sure if I'll be able to take much more time off, might give it another go this weekend. I think using the auto was holding me back, now if I can just use the correct braking instead of mashing it at every corner... I'm prolly going to have to do something with my very sensitive brake pedal though, needs more resistence.

T1: 35.190
T2: 21.235

Gotten worse in the first two sectors, but improved at the line. I've seen 34.7xx splits for T1, but only once and I was so surprised I crashed a the next corner. :scared:

:ill: - earlier I had a quick go and hit a 34.801 and then a tenth up on my best at T2 - I was SO eager to cross the line that I simply drove straight off the track into the barrier on the final turn. Decided that ignoring the braking point would be an awesome idea and it would somehow make me take over 1st place overall, or something.

*Sigh*

Got bored with seasonal TT's so decided to come back at this one and try to chase Dan and Josh.Btw. I really need a ghost car for this one!!:dopey:

BB 8/10

Decent first 2 sectors, minimum speed 147km/h through fast right after T2 but messed up the last corner!:grumpy:

@Josh,care to share your secret for T1?..:sly:...awesome sector!👍

I see you are using the DFGT. I have the same, and I use the bungee cord modification. Use the search in the forums, and I am sure you will be able to find it. I believe I use an 18" bungee on mine. Hook it on the left underside, around the underside of the pedal, and to the underside of the front middle. Makes for a bit better resistance.

****, Zoky is back. :D

New splits.

34.225

Will looks nice at the leaderboard, but this time T3 was crap. Always the same. :yuck:
I need a combo with only one sector. Kev, how about B1 test next?

thanks, I saw that somewhere and have that in the back of my mind, my wheels are spinning in my head trying to figure out a way to do it from behind and not use the cords.... something like a spring or two small shocks from an RC car...... hmmmmm.... I'll have to play around with it. wish I still had my RC stuff.

I think people were also stuffing cut racquetball or squash balls beneath the pedal as well. Just have to make sure you push firmly enough down on the pedal for initial calibration each time.

As far as the cord being in the way. It doesn't bother me at all because I am using my left for braking and right for gas. I saw a picture of someone braiding the bungee and just connecting both ends to the side. You still see the bungees though.

Nice T1's. Need to figure out where I am losing the time.

Also noticed that both of you are using rear brake balance of 10. Would you mind explaining. I don't think I really understand the settings for brake balance. Is a setting of 4/5 really any different than a setting of 8/10? Is it a ratio thing, or do the numbers really change things? BTW I am using the standard 5/5 setup.

ah, I forgot. This time i was using 1/10. :sly:
Sorry, my english is not good enough to explain well. But you can drift more easily around the corners. Just try it. :)

I have not run this yet but thought I would post something that seems to help me around tracks with tighter turns.

On most tracks I tend to have ffb on 10 but found it a great help lowering it right down to 2 or 3 for tracks with tight hairpins, I find it useful in helping you concentrate on the lap instead of having to concentrate on fighting the wheel.

If anyone tries this, let me know how you got on. It might just be me :)

First half hours splits.

35.078
21.002

I did about the same amount of time in arcade for practice.

Fun now but I remember I didn't like it the first time through, whenever that was.
Good one, Kevin. 👍

I run 3-5 on the G27 99% of the time. But, now that you mention it, I will try the higher settings on tracks with less hairpins.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a try tonight, usually I have it on 5 or 6 depending. Really struggling with this one in T1, seem to be on par in T2/T3.
Will also try rudi's 1/10 setting as well (previously was trying 4/9). Thanks to rudi for always sharing his tips, always open and willing to help others with tunes (was a great help in Grand Valley).

Good luck with it, will rank up to 13 tomorrow and give this a run.

Good luck all.👍

I will give that a try when I sit down later. I could see how it would influence the rear end in T1, but it sounds like it would make the car a monster in T2 and T3. I think it takes some special talent to run the brakes at that extreme. Hopefully running 1/10 will open up some new driving skill for me?

Got some time to give this one another go...still plenty of work to do in T1 compared to some of you.

T1: 34.650
T2: 20.947

I tried a little less extreme braking than Rudi, but more extreme than my 5/5. I was able to put down a 34..415 first sector, but unfortunately didn't finish the lap. I can see how the rear balance helps get the car pointed in. used 3/7
