I have two questions,

Ayone here using the driving line on this challenge?

What camera angle do you use? I personaly prefer the bumper cam but I don't know if a different angle would help me gauge the turns better.

@panchopuga: no line and bumper cam for me. It's a matter of keeping things constant for me.

New PS3 (160G slim), new TV (Toshiba 47L7200U) and new permanent location in the house:

So have a new time to go with it :)

1st clean lap on stock settings using DS3, using the Driving Line as I've stopped using the Suggested Gear Indicater and I'm a long way from knowing this track like the back of my hand :ill:

I use the driving line, but only to set my own brake points. If you're following it directly, you'll be stupidly slow.

I always use bumper cam view.

Welcome to WRS. Please review our AUP, partiularly with respect to expectations on grammar. Please use capitals for the start of sentences and the pronoun I.

I use bumper cam, it's the best view for field of vision and hitting your marks, and it is still immersive and realistic.

I always drive with the line off. I find it to be a crutch for braking points and difficult to adjust to the correct points with accuracy. Trackside braking markers all the way for me.

If you don't know this track, I suggest using the event car in the Nurb 4 hour A spec race with reduced power. It will force you to learn the track for our event. Another option is to run the track in a low powered FF, such as the VW GTI.

I fixed transamguy's entry manually, not sure why intervention was needed. :odd:

Ouch, I just got made an example out of.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have started practicing sector four of the ring using the AMG academy. So far, I'm getting better at it, hopefully I'll post up some better times soon.

2nd session with Kevin's tune. This lap is a full 6 seconds faster than my previous submission! :)

No splits for me yet, but here's my version of a complete tune -

For your dampers, when you say 3/1 both ends, do you mean rebound/compression or front/rear?

Thanks for the tune. 👍

New splits for me. This lap was a big improvement, though almost all on the back half. Also, I just realized you could skip ahead in the replay then go back and look at the splits. :dunce:

Sorry, 3 front and 1 rear on both ends of car. So 3 comp/ext front, 1 ext/comp rear.

Okay, after some sector runs and grammatical lessons ;), this is what I came up with.

It's a challenge to be consistent on a track that's over 12 miles long.

Im done for tonight. I thought I could keep going but I can't stop making mistakes.

I have learned two things tonight,

There are rumble strips that like to playfully push you away towards the grass.:yuck:

AND

Grass = Death:crazy:

Great times Phil, I see you're mixing it up with division two guys. You're making division three look good and bad at the same time! Haha, I kid I kid.

Thanks! With help from the whole :gtplanet: community, I've learned a lot :)

I was/am posting from phone, so I imagine a literal typo here or there can be forgiven, as it will always be by me. But irony noted....

Ociffer, I'm not as think as you drunk I am...

If anyones interested, this is the set-up I'm using. It is a hybrid of a lot of peoples ideas, then tweaked to suit me. The big change from my driving feel was to lower the front/rear spring delta. This allows me to attack the curbs without the back end step out as aggressively (as in in when you only have the inside front well up on the curb and you apply throttle).
