Thanks racingworld. New splits are clean :-)

With these kind of speed, a mistake is quickly made, I encountered already the same problem, being sure I ran a clean lap...but afther triple checking I came to the conclusion that at some point I only had 3 wheels on the allowed track. Now this is only a split second, and I really had to put down an effort to be able to 'pause' the replay at the correct moment...

Best advise I can give you, if you are not sure of your lap, check right away, and if youre stomach is giving you a strange feeling, check it again... :)

Sorry for any confusion I might have caused on the HP front. My car was already broken in, so I think 726 is the right number. I always just leave that language there, in case I'm off by a HP for one reason or another.

There are no parts to add to this car, so there's nothing to verify from an engine performance perspective. Break it in to max power, and have fun!

I reset the aero to default because of the twitchy handling and got a slight improvement. Not a good enough time to post tho. I suspect I will not be posting any times for this week. F1 cars are more than I can handle!

Think my next move is to use Hydro's brake-balance numbers to see if they settle the car on entry to Pouhon. And maybe back off the front aero by 5 points. I haven't done any suspension or LSD adjustments yet.

Try backing down the over-run on the LSD before BB. Try something like Hydro's 10/40/8. The front wing might work too, it is something I want to play with.

If Pouhon is the problem though I'd highly recommend using less braking in the rear. I played with the LSD and suspension a ton and it just couldn't settle the car down there.
I really don't find an advantage with higher brake balances for turn in, the car will turn lightning fast no matter what you do to it.

I did try playing with the front wing but it made the run through les Fanges and eau rouge really tough. As Chris mentioned earlier, running less downforce does not translate to faster laps for the most part. The very slight increase in top speed on the straight portions does not nearly make up for the time lost in the turns.
Setting the front toe with a greater negative value could help as well. Try increasing that by 10 at a time (-0.10, -0.20, etc) and see if it helps.

I've stuck with 5/5 for brake balance and the usual ABS 10 which allows for more trail braking.

Same setup pretty much - not liking the effect toe has on high speed cornering so left at zero...

Max downforce

20.0/20.0
9/9
8/7
7/7
3.0/2.0
0.00/0.00

LSD 10/15/15

Tranny trick, top speed (top right) @ 216mph

No matter what you do with setup though, the car responds best when you thrash it mercilessly. :sly: That being said, I still can't get anywhere near your 1st sector times Marc - you've really nailed that. 👍

Up a tenth at the line and just about at my limit I think. I've had a 2nd sector just over a tenth faster than this but couldn't hold it through Stavelot. This is my best 1st sector so far, and close to my best 3rd sector. I'll be running all week though - there's little to beat the fun of an F1 car round Spa. :)

Waiting with trepidation to see what Wes and/or James come up with.. or any other alien that runs it... :nervous:

4 different ones there....tranny trick gearbox needs doing too

For what it is worth, if I use Max down force the car is very twitchy, so I use full rear and default front. But I'm no expert!!! :sly:

Me too... :nervous: , and thanks.

T1 is continuing to get a bit slower as I adjust for T2, but it's working out much better. .690's are common, low 6's are long gone for me now I'm afraid.
I'll double check my current tune and post it later. Some minor changes to camber, LSD and dampers IIRC.
The only tricky turn at this point is Pouhon, and I find that barely braking at all is working out. Quite nerve rattling....
It's pretty hard to tell if I'm trail braking anywhere - it's happening too dam fast.

Should be able to do 28.8 and 44.1 at some point. Car at full HP now.

Shifting back to 6th for Pouhon works better for me, 7th slides out wide and then is too slow on exit. Struggling with turn 1 a little less, last right hander before run to Blanchimont is the problem turn though....very cautious trying not to blow it in the gravel....

Nice steps forward in sector 2 Marc and Matt. 👍

I found a bit more...

28.746
43.478

Sector 2 keeps springing surprises. Seen a couple of high 28.6s in sector 1 now but still averaging .7s and .8s. Looking for another 0.2 or so on the lap I think.

I think it's broken in now!

Wow, a looooong way to go :scared:

Followed Hydro's 5/3 brake-balance recommendation and took 2 points off full front aero. Combination eliminated the previous twitchiness. The car is now rock-solid in Eau Rouge and Blanchimont. I can attack Pouhon with a lot more confidence and things are also noticeably better at Malmedy, Rivage and the nameless corner. A further tweak of some sort could help in the chicane and at Stavelot. But these are F1 cars; small changes can have big results.

Well this isn't the easiest week to come back from a 3 month lay off  Borrowed Marc's setup and I'm hitting the split around 1'15.3, assuming I don't throw it at the scenery somewhere first. Feel like I'm crawling through the chicane and driving like a 4 year old everywhere else, but it's fun :D

Think I am beginning to understand how to drive this beast...maybe.

May not be fast but it looks good! :sly:

Welcome back Jon! It's like riding a bike, sure you'll be in the 1'12s soon :D

Great to see you back in at last Jon mate! Its been a long road for you to get here, eh... a long, chaotic and probably quite stressful road. Now for some relaxation WRS style! :dopey: How are those nerves? :sly:

Where are you and Tim's splits Lucas? Thought you guys would be all over this quick stuff!

Additional: Anyone got a view on brake balance? 4/2 I quite

.8 on my best lap, getting quicker. just can't break 29 in t1

(sorry, don't know how to strike through on the iPad)

I love this, but I don't think I breath during each lap.

Frayed knot, I'm sure. :boggled:

Welcome back, Jon.

Thanks guys, appreciate it. Not sure whether I'll get another shot at this one, as we have guests coming on Wednesday thru Saturday and the place is a mess! Nice to be back though and yes Chris, it's been long, chaotic and stressful in equal measure.

Great to see some new names as well and I look forward to getting beaten by you in the near future!!

Pouhon is a right struggle, is anybody managing it flat ?

Giving you hints.... :nervous:
Not flat, just lifting and very (extremely) slight braking on entry.
