I can't figure out why my T2 is sooo slow. I try to keep the beast tacked up like a thousand bumblebees.

Nice tune, Chris.

Some seriously fast times up already.

Been a while since I posted first-splits after Marc. Thanks for your tune as well. 👍

Average T3. Why is T2 so stankin' loooooong?!? :dunce:

I wonder why I lose so much time in S1

I mean, Eau Rouge is flat out, top speed on the long straight is limited through the aero so it seems to be all about Turn 1...

I need to find a full second there. So I know what I am going to do today after work 👍

It isn't just that - you can lose half a second with a bad chicane. Those two sections are the whole of t1, you can only lose a tenth in eau rouge if you slide or use too much steering lock through radillon.

I need to practice getting it spot on too though :)

I feel like I just fell flat on my face! Just had what I hoped was a great run and I'm still 1.5 seconds off the pace in T2! :scared: It felt good, fast and I thought I was pushing hard. I know I'm not likely to match the pace those D1 guys at the top have got but millross, how did you do that T2? Its crazy! 👍

I don't want to drop out this week - its huge fun buzzing around at such a speed - but I'm not sure I've got the skill to push it much harder. Blink and you've missed an apex or run off track. I've had some amazing pirouettes, particularly at Pouhon - gotta love that bend. :D

Tried active steering on strong , the only place it helped was exiting the first hairpin.

I tried AS early on and found the final chicane felt like the track turned to mud....c'mon.......turn.....c'mon you little.....

Yes. On the Wednesday following the TT we are running an hour long race.
We do that every week unless we need to sub in a combo for whatever reason.

Can i drive as Guest Driver there??
No points i only want to drive.

I'm too hot to keep up this pace for long sessions... and every time my brain kicks in, I crash. :P My left foot forgot how much brake pressure to use for a while earlier as well.

I'm just tickling it now - there's still a couple of tenths in there but it'll take a magic lap to find them.

Sorry, but for the WRS Online races and Offline TT competitions a GTP_ PSN account is required and there are no exceptions.
FYI, we don't actually use a point system in weekly races as the events / cars change every week - it's really just for fun....(very) competitive fun 👍

Starting to enjoy this, but I don't have splits worth posting yet. The car isn't at full power yet, anyway.

I have a bit of a problem at Malmédy (well, at every turn, really :ouch:), I more often than not put one too many wheels inside the curb there (this also sometimes happen on the corner with no name).

It's a bit hard to get used to the short braking distances, too! But I'm improving, hopefully quickly enough to post some splits soon.

Thanks to everyone who have been posting setups 👍

This is slower than my previous post but made .03 on the line........arrrrgh, this is tough !

My first run. Car isn't fully broken in yet, and apparently needs an oil change already. Only 711hp from the initial 713hp to the increase to 716hp between adjusting the setup.

haha tell me about it .... soon went back to no aids!

Started getting 28.9s occasionally, but generally 29 flat in T1. Can't replicate T2, but only had 45 mins in the last 2 days...will give this a bit more at the weekend I hope.

Les Combes is a 1/5 to get right and a 1/10 to get how I did on my splits - really starting to psyche me out now as there's such a wait on Kemmel and then I get into a cycle of restarts....not good. When hooked up at full throttle after braking/2 downshifts, this section is my favourite....and my most favoured accident spot

Only risk of locking up the tires is at La Source and the Bus Stop, but as long as you don't wait until the last second to get on the brakes, it's fine. I just noticed with ABS off, I was able to change direction quicker.

Of course, the tire compound helps with reducing lock-up.

My car is broken in now. Also decided that it handles better without ABS.

Ummm. What?!? That sounds adventurous. 👍

I remember Marc talking about the F1 seasonals being fun with ABS 0... And that was even with racing hard tires. Might be worth a try Lucas.

Yes, yes, I will give it a try. But I'll probably go slower than Hammond from Top Gear (thanks for the link, Marc 👍):

Chris, I think "thrash it mercilessly" is your battle-cry. :P Nice going to the top. 👍
...
No matter what you do with setup though, the car responds best when you thrash it mercilessly. :sly:

Thanks Lucas mate. 👍 Sounds good to me..... Chaarrrge! I do seem to enjoy cars that respond well to throttle mashing. :P

Still waiting for James (or another alien) to blow my duck out of the water....

Up half a tenth at the line. This could well be it for me - there's another tenth-and-a-bit there based on my best sector times but nailing the chicane after a T2 split of 1'12.0 is an exercise in crisis management.

Bloody loving this combo though. I'd not used the F1 cars much in GT5 - didn't like the feel of them after years of rFactor's best known F1 packages. But with a bit of setup and the tranny trick, they're a good grin. And Spa, well, 'nuff said. :mischievous:

Had a little slide on the entry to Pouhon which got my attention and cost me a tenth or so, otherwise a decent lap for me at this point. Also one of my slowest T1 of the session, although I've only broken 29s once.

Eh?! Where's that then?

Tonight is an all out assault on the super-Marc! Let's see if I can hack it. Should beat lap time on slower splits so that's what I really want.

Getting there Jon? Its a blast eh? :)

Liege? Not familiar with the designation... which corner/bend is that?

Good luck tonight Matt. 👍 :)

Left hand corner right before pouhon, it's also called the corner without a name it's right after bruxelles

I prefer 'turn 11'. Every other corner has a name, so you know exactly which one it is by default 👍

Dems is fightin' words!
I'll be picking it back up tomorrow, or late Sunday / Monday, so you have the early round advantage!

I think I need to switch up my transmission again though... I'm currently using 6th through Eau rouge and it gives me a tremandous pull up the hill, but the car doesn't run as fast down the straight once I shift to 7th, and I think it's hurting the overall lap. For example, I take Pouhon in 6th, and stay in 6th until the downshift for Les Fanges. Not really the most efficient gearbox use I can think of.
The problem stems from sector 1. With a creative gearbox you can fly through it, but it doesn't balance out as well over the whole track. Gaining a tenth or 2 in sector 1 hardly makes up for losing a second over the rest of the track :(
