Shaved almost a full second off my pb lap!

I can't believe I'm having this much fun hot lapping :D
Probably 1 or 2 good sessions left in me, but I wouldn't be surprised if I run it all day Sunday 👍
Still messing about with the darn transmission...

Wow....amazing. I won't beat that unless A miracle setup appears, which I doubt exists!

And the tranny???? :)

Al

Yeah someone help me out with a gearbox, please? I need help to catch Marc :)

Tried a couple of laps in that beast, but I'm so far off the pace, that I will give this week a pass also.
Can't stand those F1 beasts, my reflexes are too slow :)

Good luck for everybody running this combo. 👍

Wow, Marc.. fantastic leap forward. 👍 Your setup is almost the same as mine now, bar LSD and whatever magic gearing you're using... I don't see that many .6 1st sectors and have not managed to convert one to a fastest lap yet. Good arrows mate. :) But... isn't hot lapping why you joined WRS in the first place? :sly:

I'm just using the tranny trick with final set so the top speed (showing top right) is 216mph. It almost hits the limiter just before Les Combes, topping out at 206mph. Gears between are equally spaced as per the usual when using the trick.

Im sick of seeing spa at 200 mph now
Eh? :indiff: Spa is at its best at 200mph. :) Unless you've done a stupendously high mileage I suppose. Good luck anyway.

Some serious game being displayed here... Going to have to fiddle with my set up and then see what I can find in my bag of talent (which, I suspect, will be empty)!!

Just bought Spa and Motegi, but not even going to try this one.

Good to see you're back and enjoying yourself Jon. We're practically neighbors now, I think I can see your house from here.

End of earlier session was encouraging, saw an 8 in t1....and then another! Got a good gearbox now but my lap on the posted splits is pretty solid, saw an 1.12.804 go by and blew the breaking point for the chicane. Marc is a demon in the quick cars for sure, wont catch those splits

Target of 1.12.7xx and I'll be done and submit. Too hot down here to run laps this avo though, will go again later :) 👍

Yeah slight exaggeration their. Im not going to improve me thinks! Might have another go tomorrow ... fed up now. Good luck everybody, lets hope my t3 aint as poor as londons was:nervous:

Thanks Baron, will send you a PM mate!!

Thanks Chris 👍 I'm certain any time gained from here will have more to do with learning to drive T2 better as opposed to tuning.
Yes, the tunes are very close, and I found that lowering the dampers made the rumbles safer - I'm all over the rumbles here :D But that could also just be a side effect of practice TBH. The 45 in the LSD is just because I'm not losing the rear under acceleration- ever - so I left it as open as possible (may have the terminology reversed) for better turns when the throttle is floored.

I'm basically (sorta / kinda) the same, but I don't go all they way to the right with the final gear as per the norm for the tranny trick, instead I try to keep the final gear somewhat neutral as a starting point (that's my tranny trick I suppose...). The problem there is that I really don't know where my stating point is / was as I reset and experiment with the transmission all the time using all 3 tuning sheets and the copy function in order to not lose a good setup.
I do know that my gears aren't all even. 2nd and 3rd are longer than usual, the shift to 5th hits right when the screen freezes at the S/F line (really annoying TBH - makes for occasional double or missed shifts) and as previously mentioned I'm in 6th for all of Eau Rouge - shifting to 7th closer to the right hand bend following.

Yes it is :D And it's never felt better 👍

I actually ran the GTP qualifier in GT5P originally Chris - not for TT's but for the one-on-one races at the time. I do like hotlapping in the right combos though, and this is easily the right combo :) - but then again, any race car on Spa is already going in the right direction 👍

Now using Hydro's suspension, LSD and brake setting with my previous tranny and aero settings. Clear improvement in sector 2, but unlike Hydro I can't take Pouhon flat.

Oh, I'm not taking it flat, I'm just not braking there. Where I would normally brake I just lift and ride out the first part of the turn with very little steering input. Then I floor it when the car has cleared the first apex and settles down.

If the back end skates away too much, just add some positive rear toe (+0.05 or +0.10).

Not quite sure if this was okay so just wanted to check and confirm. Is this considered clean?

This car is soo hard to make progress with - I just don't feel brave enough to push it as hard as it wants/needs to make it work properly (if that makes sense??) Twissy and Vagabond are crazy as usual and Hydro and milross aren't so sane either. How are you doing that? Every time I think I've made a step, I hesitate and any advantage is gone almost immediately. Anyway, a small step today -

I'm hoping I can find at least another few tenths tomorrow. :scared:

Yes, of course 👍
The red and white rumbles are track, and you aren't even past them - what part were you concerned about?
Oh - for track boundary shots, raise the shutter speed to 4 or 8000 so it's not blurry ;)

Thanks for clarifying, i was concerned because part of the car is on the grass and i was also looking at the white line instead of the rumble strips, i wasn't sure whether the whole car could be on the rumble stripes or just two wheels with the rest of the car inside the white line of the track

Anytime 👍 In the world of WRS TT's you actually have lots of room to spare there.

As per usual with TT's, I refer to Chris' advice: thrash the car mecilessly ;)
When I thought I had hit a wall in T2 I would just try to push the car as hard as possible into Rivage and see what happens if I had a bad T1 and probably couldn't improve my overall lap.
Once I had a good feel for that turn, the entrance to Les Fanges was next on the list....turns out the car can be pushed waaaayyyy harder than I would have thought.
Good Luck 👍

He might just need to re-download the track pack if it's possible.

I actually re-installed the game, and I got Spa (and the R390 GT1 Race Car, a vehicle that the AI would remain motionless in, no matter what their speedometer read) to work. Thanks, everyone!

I'll upload my splits sometime tomorrow.

Nice to see it worked out 👍

That's almost a bit of a rally-driving technique. I'll have to give it a go. I was keeping my foot in and it wasn't a matter of the back skating away, it was just coming 'round with very little warning.

Yup, I'm done. :D I can get close to my fast time but I can't go any faster. Submitted and eager to see how you guys are going so fast. 👍 See you in week 80!

Done around 700 kms so far. Very addictive combo .

Messed up big time in T3 at the end of this lap. At the chicane dropped down to 1st gear by accident, losing precious momentum and balance of the car. Lost 3 tenths just on that corner, maybe more :banghead:. Can't muster up the nerve to put in a similar lap time again, so I'll have to give it a shot later.
