Just smashed my best lap time by simply switching to the red paint. Lap #1 !! Try the red paint! It's obviously a lot lighter ;)
T1: 42.241
T2: 25.066

DS3 settings:

TCS 1 - Had a hard time not spinning the wheels up too much - TCS 2 caused too much interference, 1 seemed to suit
ABS 7 - Tried various combinations of this, may/may not have had an effect.
Steering sensitivity -2 - I find this helps me with understeer, as I can't yank the steering wheel too hard with the very small travel on the DS3 analog.

Hay!!!

I have been using the red paint since day one, get your own colour

Hammerhead..... Gaaaah!

That's all I have to say about that.

If I don't hit my target, I probably won't submit this week. I'm ridiculously off the pace in T2. Seen a 41.9xx T1 twice only and followed it with a 25.6xx T2.... I feel like a learner.

Mirror, signal, manoeuvre...

Hammerhead

I find the slow in fast out approach works great for this corner, on entry dipping 2 tyres inside the white and the same for the exit. brake earlier than you think for the hammerhead, it allows you to get on the gas earlier for the exit. Stick to the inside on exit with your right fronts over the red and white line and slowly ease yourself to the right of the track, if done right you will know because you won't heat up the tyres on exit of this corner.

Hope this helps 👍

Sorry it's just a white line on exit you can have two tyres over

Coming in 3 from T1, brake early, just after the horizontal line of different color, and let go brakes as the car just slides to the left with a lot of speed, over the line, without becoming red, after that, 2 gear, break to the right and slide trying to acelarate as soon as possible, in 2 gear over the line, and cutting as much as possible the corner, and only putting 3 gear well on the red line, trying to pass the yellow horizontal line above 100km.

Sorry for my english :yuck:

T1: 0:43,356
T2: 0:25,890

Greetings all, my first WRS ever.
Hopefully it will get better over time :)

Grozni, over and out
unskilled bastard at the bottom of 4th division :)

Thanks chaps :) I have the perfect technique in my head already, it just doesn't work with this car at that corner... :P ...talent limited. ;) I've long had issues with braking behaviour in GT, particularly in a car that understeers. I'm citing a lack of adaptability in my driving style... a major weakness I've always suffered.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with divison 4. This is my 2nd WRS and a lot more fun than last week. After about 30 to 35 laps I'm calling it quits.

T1: 42.945
T2: 25.648

With the current split times so close on the leaderboard, it makes you wonder who has that all important final sector :sly:

T2: 24.975

Why not in the same lap. :yuck:

I could never expect TG Test Track to be so difficult, Swift Sport is a great little car, Comfort Hard's are ok with it, but I'm really stuck and cannot improve my time...
If my T3 was good enough I could be In the top 3 of my division...

Maybe I'll have a last quick track session today

What gears are you using for the last 2 corners?

If you are using 2nd for the second to last corner try 3rd and enter the corner from a wide line, makes that turn a lot easier to judge when you can get on the power 👍

What gears are you using for the last 2 corners?

Since I drive in real life, I cannot change gears with ds3* so I keep it AT.
Also it's not the last 2 corners that I'm concerned about, it's the rest of the track which gives me a headache to find the correct braking marks, not to mention some visual point to connect the braking points to.

* Reason is a I'm not used to sequential shifting, also it's hard to know which gear I'm in by looking at the screen, it's way easier by touching the gear stick.
PS. I hope Logitech will supply my local market with g27s so I can pick up one, then I'll be worrying how to keep my foot off the clutch!

I take it you are loosing time to others in your division because you drive AT, reason being the car is probably down shifting to the wrong gear for certain corners. It's ashame you don't drive manual, you would be amazed how much faster you will be once you get used to it. I posted on an earlier page about the set up of the ds3 controller, not set up for race sims in mind was my opinion.

Millross seems to do well with a ds3, maybe he has some tips for you

That's right, I first drove MT in GT2 and I guess since GT, the game downshifts without taking advantage of engine brake and such, I can control which gear it will shift to by getting revs in a medium range with a slight press of the gas, I'm so used to AT that I also drift in AT.

Yes it is, I promise, once getting the wheel I'll go manual... haha...

Edit: I'll do my last seesion and then give it a go with MT... lets see...

I have a quick question, at hammerhead. Are you allowed to have 2 wheels on the outer portion of the right turn and 2 wheels in the inner portion where it's crossing over the white and red line? I didn't get red flagged for it, but I want to make sure before I submit my time for this week. Thanks

Yes, but not more than two.

Thats exactly right, 2 wheels on track at all times...

PS. Seems you couldn't get much track time this week, our splits are very close, lets see the results... I think only once on the CR-Z I was able to outrun you

Latest, and probably last, set of splits. The D3 race is really intense this week, and I have to try and answer the latest challenge from millross!!
T1: 42.020
T2: 25.181

I'll give it a few more laps, but I'm close to the limit now. Not my best ever t3, but solid.

I don't get that much track time in general anymore, plus I hate FF cars. I don't get the sense of control I can achieve driving a FR, MR, RR, or even a 4WD car. My time is split between, 60 hour work week, full time college student, & my girlfriend. I am not complaining though, usually Sunday is the day where I spend a few hours hot lapping. I read through everyone's comments during the week and try to apply what I learned through my driving. This is the final update for me this week, I have gotten my goal time :)

You've pumped in some amazing T1s this week dude 👍

I've had to rely on T2 and T3 all week as I've only seen sub 42.2 once and flubbed it.

I get the feeling that I'll miss out on a podium this week because of my "slow" T1 (I thought it was fast!!), but who knows! It HAS to be pretty close across the Div3 top 8 in terms of overall time. I know I've got a good T2 and 3 in my best lap, but is it enough to recover the couple of tenths lost in T1?! Difficult to predict....

All I can say is 👍👍👍 guys - amazing!

Rudi can't fail!

6 tenths faster in T1 - I must have broken KERS on my car or something ;)

wow, the black one has good traction in sector one. :dopey:

41.640
25.160 👎

I thought that about the black one to when I had a quick 10 min go this afternoon :sly: I was hitting 41s in T1 but gave up trying to beat my ghost in T3.

Hoping I have a chance for the podium though, first place looks out of reach :sly:
