GTP_WRS-Online Event 30 : AuT(u)M(n) Ring - Flip Flops - Aug 16 & 20

Sorry to hear that. :ouch: This is the reason we're not publishing results for this event. There's just too much contact going on in this combo.

You guys have no way of knowing that beforehand. And we have to try and use every track, don't we? Brands Hatch will be a different story...

I left too after getting hit out of track last turn in a 90°degree ankle by someone using me as his brakes...

Too bad. I decided to bail after a similar incident in the last race.

Hey don't take my words hard
I meant the move was dirty nothing else
I have raced you before you are clean, the nature of the track is what made the move dirty and destroyed race
Cheers

That's ok Ruz. I do tend to take things personally and it's a mistake. No hard feelings mate 👍

I have thought for a bit about hitting the send button....but I finally decided it was time to call a spade a spade. That race in the EU Room tonight was pathetic.

That was the poorest excuse for WRS racing I have ever had the displeasure to be involved with.

What happened to you guys since the WW race.... Hell.... I qualified last or next to last and after lifting at the starts when everyone else flatfooted it I made up 4 to 6 positions on each first lap of each race except the last one. All because the children did not play well with each other. Just because the car was squirrely and the track is tight is NO excuse for the general untidiness and general piss poor driving that generally was on exhibit. I left early in race 3... after I fell off all by myself...but not because I was in a rage at my driving... but rather in disgust because I was damn tired of getting hit. The golden rule of racing is that it the responsibility of the overtaking driver to CLEANLY effect the pass. Many seem to have forgotten that. I trust the NA race will be more adult in nature.

Come on guys...you are better than that.. .and oh yes...we all have a distinct car color that is registered with the WRS...we, once, again had at least 4 red cars out there.

To those who drove with their heads and within their abilities ...THANK YOU.

From the replay it was 7 red cars thou one looks like it's a matte red thou suppose that's worse actively painting the car another shade of red I even changed from my favourite green to yellow as me and nail clashed last race.

@Meister Fetz

I think i was me that hit you in race 3. I saw you slide out, but i was allready sidewayes my selve, så i had no chance to correct my line. I'm sorry for that my friend.

I looked at the replay of race 3 a fes times, and the first 2-3 laps was horrible to watch. No matter how good a driver, it's allmost impossible to overtake a car without rubbing og hitting som one in the proces. I know that all driveres ind the EU race yesterday did there best not to hit other drivers.

The condisions was the same for all drivers, so i dont understand why the raceresults ar not walid to post here. I think that all drivers did there best on a very hard track.

Just saying.

No, that wasn't that lil touch. That was OK to me under the actual circumstances- no way for me too to correct the line once the drift started without heavily mistaking.
The one I left for happened later. Allready discussed the issue out with the one.
It's right, everyone had the same conditions, but regarding the OLR rules I see no way to make this one a valid race.
On a real track everyone would have had a major crash destroying his ride. And that's what it's about to me. Driving it like it's a real life race.

@Meister Fetz

You'r right if you look at it as a Real life event and i agree that i that light it was not walid as a race. But mabe as an eyeopener for the difference in slow and fast cars, and the drivers respect for others. As i allwayes have said, it's great to be fast, but doing it while being unfair/dirty is a Way to kill the fun for all.

This was a race where it always looked like there was an opening, but in reality there was not. Patience and waiting for mistakes was the key to a clean pass. If you read the OLR for good racecraft there is alot of info about drivers rights going into a turn. If you are attempting a pass and you are not up to lead car's front quarter panel (driver position) that you are attempting to pass, you do not have the right to the preferred line through the corner. If your car is behind the other car heading into a corner and you late brake and go for the preferred line through a turn that is considered dive bombing and is not allowed. All that being said with the cars being slippery thru the turns and the amount of cars in the EU and WW races, it is easy to see why there was more bumping than normal. Qualifying up front was very important in this race to have a good finish as passing cleanly was tough, if the driver in front did not make a mistake.

Here are the rules for overtaking into a corner.

B:
You must establish substantial overlap with the car ahead before they reach the corner's turn-in point to have the right to drive up their inside, or to expect them to leave inside room for you. At least the front of your car should be up to the driver's position in the ahead car. The ahead driver has the right to be fully committed to the racing line of their choice without any interference if there was no substantial overlap before he turned in.

C:
If sufficient overlap is established before the turn-in point, then the behind driver has the right to sufficient side room. The ahead driver must also leave sufficient side room for the behind driver. This means that each driver has a right to their respective "line", or side of the track, right up to the exit point. Neither driver should squeeze the other toward the inside or outside of the corner during the apex or exit.

That i agree on. as you pointet, the race yesterday looked like allmost every corner was open to overtake but a no go, if it schuld be fair and clean. It's allmost impossible on that small track and with these sliding cars to ophold the OLR.

I agree, it was a tough race to do cleanly all the way thru, especially with a full grid of cars. Even so I think it was possible to race cleanly, if you were mindful of the rules.

Not really. Spinning out infront of someone is a racing incident, which is going to happen, especially with cars like this. However braking too late or dive bombing etc, is avoidable contact, and is against the OLR, and can be avoided. It just takes patience.

I wasn't in the race, but those are my thoughts from reading the comments.

I agree. It's not good sportsmanship to do these things, my only point is that it's allmost impossible to do it in these cars and on this track. Just look at the replay of race 3 with Eracer and me. No matter how fair he tryed to be, he hit me lots of times. Tiny mistakes from my part and close racing was to blaime but it was FUN.

When it works out as it schuld, you end up vith a fun race

The first lap of the 3rd race was crazy but that I expected being the car and track combo and the added fact of a reverse grid.
It is the second lap that really wound me up I was doing my best to make 100% clean overtakes at the right time without making contact and giving enough room but what I received in return was being sandwiched, shunted, leaned on and finally punted off.

The only saving grace was the 100% close and clean race me and Matthew had cutting our way back through the field to 4th & 5th and even out little tangle 2 laps from the end he immediately handed the place back to me.

16 cars seems to be a mess on this track
Won't be racing on Wednesday
Hopefully will race when there is the next combo

Ok this was the worst session of WRS for me since I race here. Got hit on every possible corner, got called very dirty, and was constantly trying not to hit the car in front only to get rammed from behind at every occasion. Very frustrating races for me this time :grumpy:
I'm out for tonight's race.

I think this combo would have been better on the full Autumn Ring. The trouble with having a full grid of tricky cars on such a short track is that whenever a car loses control, there's nearly always several cars behind that have to dodge around it, which in turn may cause them to lose control as well.

It was especially evil in the third race with the reversed grid, but even in the first two I was held up by backmarkers that had trouble keeping their cars pointed straight.

Anyway, congrats to @et_ for the overall (unofficial) win. That said, if I hadn't been stuck behind @skyline1683 in the last race, I reckon I'd have had you :mischievous:

I totally saw this coming miles away. Glad I decided to skip this race for exactly these reasons listed by the community. I hope the Lotus race is better...that car is very slippery too.

@OpticZero I would like to PM you but you seem to have turned that function off???? Would you rather I made my concerns with your concerns public?
